Alabama commit Landon Collins' mother accuses Saban of violation

Man Landon's GF's mom is an LSU alum and mad because she was denied a spot on the women's basketball staff at LSU. That's why her daughter ain't going to LSU. They both got to Landon with the help of Saban and convinced him to go to Bama. I said that word on the streets is ole girl got job and a car out of the deal months ago. The Mom IMO feels like folks are manipulating her son and using him. I dont agree with her methods but I see why her and his Dad are mad.

+1

You all can say all what you want, but the bottom line this all goes back to the slave master and his trading auction of his big black bucks. It all boils down to money and gifts. His mother nor his father , nor his girl friend or her mother are not worried about his education, they are worried just like typical slave ninjas about that green dollar bill and what comes with it. Run Toby, jump Toby. 1812 vs 2012. Same auction block. Same results.

Exactly.

And this ain't limited to PWC's either. :read:

And there's always the possibility that the kid really don't give a fukk about LSU and wants to go play for Alabama, just because.

He might have a Mike Bigg mindset... "F" LSU, they ain't Grambling!

True. But both the mom and dad are pissed off because they aint getting nothing out of the deal. The girlfriend and her mom are getting everything.

But logistics and expense aside, were there other things that were bothering her? As she had told other reporters, she also told me she was upset about the recruiting process and "the politics that surround it." Most worrisome, April said, was that "At ‘Bama they want to red shirt - or grey shirt - him and they want him playing nickleback instead of safety. He is the top safety in the country and he will never play a game his freshman year. Now, at LSU coach Les Miles is offering to play him as safety during his freshman year. His (Nick Saban's) goals don't meet the criteria of the family; they meet the criteria of Alabama."

What were, then, her goals? "For Landon to win the Heisman Trophy and to be able to play close to home at LSU with his younger brother, Gerald, who is also an outstanding football player who has offers to play at LSU." She said these weren't just her goals; they were shared by his younger siblings.

I got what she was saying. I think all sports moms, especially those with more than one child playing sports, do. From the time they started playing T-ball when they were five until high school, my three sons all played on the same team. There is something magical about watching your children play together, especially on the same sports team. I remember how tough it was when they were on three different teams during high school and I had to decide whose games to attend. Mama April was hoping to see both of her sons play on the same team at LSU.

This is a mess. Oh well. If I was Saban, I would say fugg it kid. Go to LSU where your folks want you too. All he is going to hear if this kid goes to Bama is groaning from the family. I would take back my schollie offer. The headache aint worth it.

Nick Saban is not going to do that. He's going to say fugg LSU. He has to play those bitches every year and he needs to win.

The chances of Bama being found guilty of any wrongdoing and paying any serious consequences is slim.

I'll bet Saban sits patiently by the fax machine and waits for that letter to be sent tomorrow.

Why not? He don't need that kid to beat LSU anyway. LOL. He should cut ties with this one and let it ride. That kid coming to Bama will be even worse for Saban if his family is hell bent on getting him away from that girlfriend and her Mom. Not to mention they think he can start right now. I would let they kid go on to LSU. No skin off Saban's back. Dude just won the NC and his job aint on the line even if he lost to LSU in 2012. The headache is too much for a Safety. Especially when Bama always keeps a good front 7. They don't need to have a superstar at that position anyway. Surely they have other kids itching to play. Probably the reason Saban aint promised this kid he will start. I say cut his losses and say hey kid, your family is important and if they aint happy, you might not be happy in the long run and I don't need that at my program. But that's just me. I wouldn't want a kid who's mother who is continuing to talk to the press about his decision.

I bet Saban aint losing no sleep over getting this kid. He is too arrogant for that. LOL. This aint the number 1 Qb or RB in the nation. He may be a great DB. But as much as the SEC runs the ball. Only Petrino has to fear a stout secondary. LOL.

Agreed.

You have to remember that this ain't Saban's first time at the rodeo. He's been in this game a long time, and you don't get to the top by being soft or scared. And beleive me, Nick Saban ain't soft, and he certainly isn't scared.

He'll take this kid no matter who wants him to go to LSU. He'll then turn around and beat LSU's brains out with the young man.

Keep this mess up, and LSU won't cross their own 30 yard line, come November.

About the Conveyor Belt from the book - Forty Million Dollar Slaves:

For the past 50 years, the prime raw resource in the sports industry has been black muscle. The work of the industry is to extract those bodies from where they primarily reside - in the black neighborhoods of rural and urban America - and then put them to work.

Now a sophisticated recruiting apparatus has been created for just that purpose. The apparatus is called the Conveyor Belt.

The recruiting process creates a fascinating reversal of fortune: The poor become rich, and those with the least access to higher education receive scholarships to some of the best schools in America.

Ultimately, a child's movement into the world of sports shouldn't be about the athlete alone, but about the athletes and their parents and guardians. Ideally, the conscientious parent walks along the Belt every step of the way, looking over the shoulder of all the operators who do the teaching, training, and coaching, making sure neither child nor handler loses focus. Sadly, in many cases, the parent or guardian is the one who loses focus.

One of the common tactics of the Belt is to drive a wedge between the athlete and any adult who can't be bought off, even the parent. College recruiters know how to manipulate kids, cajole high school coaches and seduce some parents. When they have to deal with a competing authority figure who won't be co-opted, the get frustrated and redouble their efforts to get a direct line to the kid.

LOL. That was funny. I still dont think Saban wants a headache though. Them parents not wanting him at Bama with that girl and not happy the kid might not start are the issues. Not LSU. You never want to have a kid in your program who's parents are not happy about where he is at. This could be a distraction for the kid and the coaching staff. Who wants to hear all that beyotching and moaning from some parents. But again that's just me.

JR, you make some excellent points, but I don't think the father (and the rest of the family, other than the mother) is as upset by his decision as the media, and the SWAC Page :emlaugh: is making it out to be.

And I'm sure this isn't the first time a recruit has gone against the wishes of his parent(s). Its just that this one has played out so publicly.

As I said in another thread, I hope the young man sticks with his commitment to Bama, but wherever he goes, I wish him and his family well . . .

If Bama is considering Grey Shirting him I definitely would discourage my kid from going there. I Grey shirt means he's sitting out of school altogether until next January. If you consider me that valuable information should at least be able to get a scholarship for THIS year.

Nobody is grayshirting a four-star player.

Now, it may be true that he redshirts at Bama because they are three and four deep at every position. But, he'll get a scholly in the fall.

ETA: My bad. Five-star player. Considered the best in the country at his position. The point remains. The kid can go anywhere in the country and a grayshirt is out of the question. Nobody would do that.
