April Justin, the mother of Alabama football commitment Landon Collins who made headlines when she expressed her disapproval of her son's decision on live television, alleges in an interview that Alabama head coach Nick Saban offered a job to Collins' girlfriend, which would be an apparent NCAA violation.
MomsTeam.com writer Brooke de Lench wrote that "according to April, Victoria had allegedly been offered a job to work in head coach Nick Saban's office.
According to NCAA rules:
"During a two-year period before a prospective student-athlete's anticipated enrollment and a two-year period after the student-athlete's actual enrollment, an institution shall not employ an individual associated with the prospective student-athlete in any athletics department non-coaching staff position."
Brooke de Lench said she was unable to confirm the allegations and cited University of Alabama Associate Athletics Director Doug Walker, who said in an email to de Lench that Alabama "would not comment on anything relating to the recruitment of a prospective student-athlete." Asked if Landon's girlfriend had been offered a job, Walker stated, "I have no information regarding that."
