BCS Championship Game: Bama vs LSU

I don't think folks were expecting a shootout. We would have liked to see less of the field goal kicker and the punter, though.

The Offensive MVP of the game didn't throw a single touchdown pass. Thank God the NFL playoffs are still going on so I can watch real football. College football is too extreme. Either too much offense or too much defense. Can we find a happy medium?

:retard:

Too much defense?

Happy medium?

How about your team bring the best offense, defense and special teams to the game that you can muster and my team will do the same? Put them on the field and let the chips fall where they may.

If it's 21 - 0, then so be it.

I can appreciate a good defensive battle. As they say, defense wins championships and that was proven last night.

They wouldnt have scored a touchdown just like the rest of the teams who went up against Bama defense.

True.

Bama gave up nine touchdowns all year. NINE!!! In thirteen games.

Oklahoma State struggled to beat Stanford and gave up 38 points doing it. Oklahoma State would have been shut down by both of those teams last night.

Roll reversal.....

Nick Saban....the conservative...close to the vest....play it str8 up and win without making mistakes...turns throw it on first down, open the offense up and trust the players to make plays

Les Miles....The "Mad Hatter".....take a chance....throw it all at them and let the chips fall where they may in the Big game....turns ultra conservative...run the ball 10 plays in a row....not even try a Mad Hatter Play.....not even try to come out of the shell....not even challenge or attempt to challenge the other team....not even give all that talent a chance...

Alabama may indeed have a great Defense, but Les Miles and his staff had the best defensive game plan against LSU....

Man, when you running plays from the 1940s in the 21st Century, of course it is going to be tough to score. The LSU offense didn't make a single adjustment all night.

Who covers Justin Blackmon? If Bama with McCarron was moving the ball against LSU's defense, why couldn't Oklahoma State do the same thing with more skilled position players?

The one thing I disagree with in your statement is "OK.St. with more skilled position players"....I don't think they actually have more skilled position players, more like they use them differently... I would put the athletes at the skill position at LSU up against those at Ok. St. any day....plus Clayboure would probably have been matched up on Blackmon.... and they would have scored on LSU...14 to 17 pts, but you would have also seen those skill position people from LSU then for at least 30+ pts...Les Miles just got punked and gave Bama too much respect and was afraid to try anything, cause it was Alabama on the other side...he would have not had the same respect for OK State and would have done them like Oregon and West Virginia....

yes it was. Even though Bama had them on lockdown, we all kept watching. EVen in the 4th quarter. Waiting for LSU to "rise up" (LOL) and do what they did after GA shut them down in the 1st half. Do what they did after falling behind Arkansas. Do what they did all year. We all kept watching. Don't act as if you didn't keep watching too.

I never said I didn't watch. It wasn't compelling though. I was LOL @ LSU running the same isht knowing it wasn't going to work. You know I aint a SEC fan. So I didn't care who won the game. But the look on the LSU fans faces were priceless. I was just waiting to see how long before Jordan Jefferson got booed. Once the OC came out in the second half for LSU with nothing different, I knew LSU wasn't going to raise up on Bama. Nick Saban aint Mark Richt. Georgia's defense aint Bama's either.

Who ever didn't continue to watch the game, I would suggest that they really don't understand football. With about 7 minutes to go in the 4th, the game was only a two possession ball game (15-0) and LSU driving. The game was never for certain complete until Jefferson's 4th down fumble followed by #3 rushing TD exclamation mark touchdown with about 4 minutes left in the game.

Bruh, that game was decided when LSU stepped on the field with that scared conservative azz offensive game plan. Mofos running fullback dives on 3rd and 5.

I understand.
And I understood that game was over long before the 4th. I started watching TORO, TORO, TORO on AMC and switched back to see a shuffle pass interception by Alabama. I laughed and went back to watching the Japaneese plot to bomb Pearl Harbor.

LSU didn't cross mid-field until the 4th qtr.

The QB would have had to get the ball to Blackmon. LSU would have controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball against OK State and beat the living chit out of them. You were watching "big boy" football last night. OK State fall way short of that.

Again the game wasn't over until the 4th quarter. Unless you're Nostradamus you really couldn't do anything but assume what would have happen before it did (and we all know what assuming does).

What evidence was presented by LSU before the 4th quarter that made anyone believe they were going to get a first down, let alone score against Bama? The announcers during the game said the Bama defense was treating the 50 yard line like it was goal line. LOL

I agree with you. The game wasn't over until Trent Richardson ran for a touchdown. A pick 6, fumble return or any other big play could have turned that game around in a few seconds.

I understand.

But was still in the game and didn't make the plays they needed to. But if something was more interesting to you I understand. We are not all the same. I was more interested in seeing how everything played out on the field. The errant "shovel pass" was prior to the late penetration by LSU.

Hell now you're getting into finite math (possibility and probability). :emlaugh:

3 and outs.
Jefferson on his back, running for his life dang near every play.
Can't cross the 50 yard line in 3 qtrs.
Could not even get in FG range.
Could not return a punt of kickoff pass the 25 yard line.
And even if that shuffle pass had worked, he still would have been short of a 1st down and punting the ball right back to Bamma.

I don't know what you saw to make you think LSU was gonna come roaring back all of a sudden. I really knew they were toast when they opened the 3rd qtr with the same bullcrap and lack of fire they had before halftime. If I was at a JSU game and saw our team playing like that, I would have packed it in, rolled out, and found me a package house to buy a bottle for later that night.

Come on, son.

You telling me that LSU, down three scores, would have drove down the field against Bama twice and got two, two-point conversions after not being able to get pass the 50 for more than three quarters?

I am the type of guy that watches the last play of a game. I have seen S.U. get blown out and still sat down watch to see what they're doing. When I am at the games with friends, they already know that if they are with me, I probably will not leave until the last play so don't be dependent on my transportation if leaving is important. :emlaugh:

They would have only needed one two-point conversion.

The score was 15 - 0. After a pick 6, the score would have been 15 - 7 if they make the extra point. At that point, it's anybody's ballgame.

Being down only 8 could have changed the mood on LSU's team and definitely would have changed the momentum. Who knows what would have happened?

True......

LSU fans held onto hope that they could come back even with their lack of offensive effort throught three Quarters....Yes they could have but nothing they did showed they would. Florida with the worst offense in the SEC was throwing deep bombs on Bama until Brantley got hurt...Deep bombs...Yet LSU came out running... You guys were the only ones compelled..Bama fans with the impeding win and LSU fans hoping somebody from Bama made a mistake to luck you back in that game...It never happened...LOL
