Tebow time

Years ago the Jets played in Chicago on Monday night. My friends said that New York gave the game away to the Bears.

Granted I only saw the highlights. However, there are classic things that a team should and should not do in the fourth quarter.

Barber should have stayed in bounds. He should not have fumbled. The defensive backs should not have let the Bronco receivers get out of bounds. The Bears choked. Tony Dungy, a Tebow backer, basically said so. Christmas came early in Denver.

Didn't the Bears win the NFC North and make it all the way to the NFC Championship Game last season when they were picked to finish third in the division behind Green Bay and Minnesota?

Weren't the Bears on a five-game winning streak this season before Cutler broke his thumb and replaced by a junior high quarterback?

We've found out that maybe Cutler is more valuable than Tebow. Without No. 6 out there the Bears have a hard time moving the ball past midfield.

They were comparing the Denver version of Cutler.

I wonder if Jackson will get the same about of credit if Seattle wins tomorrow and he has similar passing statistics.

I think that Chicago is in a lot of trouble without Forte' and Cutler. At least Houston has Foster and Johnson is not out for the year. I will take Yates over Hanie.

I think what T-Jack is showing everyone (other than the usually haters on here) is that he is a NFL QB who was just a victim of a bad coach and #4. Definitely can be a back up but shown that he can start and not lose games for a team (i.e. Seattle and Minnesota)

Tebow, did not win this game,

Prater, the kicker won this game,

Two field goals and the game tying one was from 55yds out.
Screw Tebow, give all the credit to the kicker. If not for him Denver would have lost this one.

and Marion Barber needs to go back to where ever he came from, just like the receiver on the Vikings who screw up three perfect passes yesterday against the Lions. (disclaimer I am not a Vikings fan, I just think its amazing he screwed up that bad)

Yeah... the kicker drove em down the field and got himself into FG range.

I am semi-glad he is doing better but Tjack made his own bed with poor play and lazy work ethic. His teammates did not believe in him. They flew across the country during the middle of training camp to beg Farve to come play cause they didn't trust Tjack. When your own teammates do that, something is wrong son. Very wrong.

Well Favre was coming off a great season, so I can't blame them for wanting to convince him to come back over a new starter.

And stop with the "lazy work ethic" mess. Came from fat arse PED user Williams and no one else on that team.

That is not true. I used to talk to a few of the Vikes players during that time. Childress just made it so bad there, that they had no confidence in him. Plus cats like Jared Allen and Hutchinson were the ones who were slobbing over Favre AFTER he got them to the NFC title game. Before the team was about 60-40 and a lot of them were pissed off when Favre came in the beginning. TJack's problem in Minnesota was that he was too nice. He should have let them mofos know what time it was. He needed a Doug Williams like mentality. Qbs sometimes have to be arseholes. Not to mention he had no pass blocking. That's why Favre got killed. They could run block. But their pass blocking was suspect. He never had any confidence. Pete Carroll understood that. He basically has said TJack is his Qb no ifs and buts and not only that, he put blame on where blame should be.........the OL. Chilly was always flip flopping and since the fans in Minnesota hated him, they took their hate out on TJack as well since Chilly moved up to draft him in the second round. I am sure all that rattled the kid's confidence. Then you got fat arse pill popping Pat Williams talking isht and he was a shell of himself and out of shape. You had to be in the twin cities to under stand all the dynamics. I blame 20-30% on TJack and 70% on the organization with Chilly in charge.

The Bears defense is thoroughly unimpressed with Tim Tebow

You know by now about the Denver Broncos improbable comeback against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, either because you watched the game, saw highlights or felt the Tebow-inspired shift in the collective consciousness of every man, woman and child on earth at around 7:15 EST on Sunday.

Of all the magical Bronco/Tebow comebacks we've seen this season, this one was the most magical. The Bears led by 10 points with under three minutes to play, and somehow, the Broncos found a way to yank a victory away from them. There were Bears meltdowns, outstanding plays by Tebow, and much general chaos -- basically, Denver's formula for victory.

After the game, though, the stars on the Bears defense were in no mood to join everyone else in heaping praise on Tebow. Via Alex Marvez at Fox, here are quotes from the pillars of the Chicago D, in order of least to most inflammatory.

With Denver playing a bad defense this weekend, I expect them to put up more points.

I agree with Peppers and Briggs.

One thing that Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison mentioned that many others on TV did not mention was how the Bear defense let the Bronco receivers get out of bounds in the fourth quarter. I think that the Bear decisions on defense need to be taken as much of a look as Marion Barber's errors, maybe more so.

Tim Tebow’s pastor attributes wins to “God’s favorâ€

With the Broncos winning six straight games and seven of eight under the leadership of Tim Tebow, one of Tebow’s pastors in Colorado has spoken to TMZ about the situation.

“It’s not luck,†Wayne Hanson of Summit Church in Colorado told TMZ. “Luck isn’t winning 6 games in a row. It’s favor. God’s favor.†:xeye:

So God favors Aaron Rodgers three times as much? After all, the Packers have now won 19 in a row.

Hanson also attributes the victories to Tebow’s faith. Asked if Tebow would be playing so well if he weren’t a believer, Hanson said, “Of course not.†:emlaugh:

:smh:

This is sad.

Kendrick, I've seen you claim that you were a "child of the most high God" when it came to justifying going without pussy. Yet, you want to deny that faith and belief has anything to do with Tebow's success.

Faith and belief are the underpinnings of most of the world's major religions. Especially, Christianity.

If you don't believe faith and belief in God has a role in what's happening with Tebow, why are you going without pussy? Aren't both a measure of faith?

Tebow is the first Christian to play the game....

While I have claimed those things on this board and elsewhere, I don't believe God cares who wins or loses sporting events. Besides, it is kinda written in the Bible that we shouldn't partake in sex unless it is with our wives or husbands. I've yet to read anything about football, though.

And those comments by that Denver pastor does a disservice to other NFL players on other teams. Who is to say Marion Barber doesn't love God just as much as Tim Tebow does?

However, he's being blamed for the Bears losing last night for mistakes he made in the game. I bet Barber was asking God why was he placed in a position to let his teammates down.

I'm pretty sure in the final seconds of that game when Denver was lining up for the game-tying FG, Tim Tebow was praying on the Broncos sideline for one outcome and members of the Bears were praying on their sideline for a different outcome.

Players on both teams pray before and during the game. How can God decide who to give favor to, especially during a football game when members of both teams want his services?

Right before Game 1 of the 2008 NLDS against the Dodgers, the Cubs hired a Greek priest to dash the dugout with holy water and anointing oil. And there was footage of this guy doing his thing up and down the dugout. The Cubs still ended up getting swept by the Dodgers in that series. LOL.

I just think we have to be careful when it comes to religion and sports.
