Not if I was committed to my high school. Complaining alums come with the territory.

they're paying him over $100K at UH after making half of that at Yates with unrealistic expectations as those same Yates alum who complain live in the suburbs...you would bolt also

Turner Gill is available also and Mike Haywood (Houston native)...Gill was turned down by GSU in 2005

At Yates, you can't keep the kids at home, facilities are old, the talent base is not 1980s and UH offers you to coach fb all day long for $100K and stay in the retirement system.

HISD is a losing battle unless they rebuild the traditional schools, stop the loopholes kids are using to bus to Lamar, Bellaire, Westside, etc. Who wouldn't jump at that chance?

Steve Wilson dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer during his second year. I do that think his mind was on football.

It would be hard to turn down a college gig, unless u r at a power house suburban school that could match or come close to new salary .

8 projected starters on defense coming out of the summer, did not play a down. Four year punter ineligible. Starting QB did not join team until the second game of the season. Punter did not join team until Jackson game. 7 O lineman to start the season. Other issues. We knew what we had. Still competed.

Dantavious Parker and Riko Smalls BOTH played against us in your first game.

Then why are you looking for a new coach? Seems to me that Ramsey should continue as HC if he had to endure all of this.

Still competed? ummmm ok. :snicker:

I'll leave this be after these next few statements.

The sTu job is a very attractive one. :read: New stadium, a prezzo who's financially committed to athletics :read:, and the fact that expectations shouldn't be too high, considering what the NCAA will prolly impose upon sTu for the next few yrs... after they come up, they (fball team) can come up awfully large, seems to me.

That thing in Houston that's glittering really is gold, IMHO. I'm sure sTu wants a competitive team for the next 24mos and I'm sure the alums in the know will be accepting of that, considering the outward disparity in allotted practice time between all SWAC schools and # of fball schol offerings between all.

Naw Panth, they want fool's gold. They are not patient enough to wait for 24mos. They gonna expect that they should be going to the SCG within the next year.

After the NCAA is done and self-imposing is done, that would be pretty foolish. They'll barely be able to stay on the same field w/ the 9 other SWACers, yet alone what they do OOC vs D-I. :smh:

I agree. Houston is the SWAC largest market. I think our Championship game should be over there but TxSo is a young university with no football history and no fan base. It will take YEARS of consistent winning to develop a program over there. Also, as I told PV...it's much easier to BUILD a program than it is to maintain a program. I wish TxSo the best but I put my money on SUs return before I put my money on TxSo.

According to the TxSo alums, they already know their penalties and they don't seem concerned. Honestly, I don't believe they know schitt.

They were barely able to stay on the field now with most of the 9 other SWACers, but yet they STILL believed that they should have went to the SCG.

Dantavious Parker and Riko Smalls BOTH played against us in your first game.

Smalls was the punter in that game. Allowed back only because of a mishap with punter. Did not practice during summer. It is not important enough for me to lie about. Lies are for people that need to impress others.

Lost to PV in final seconds, Grambling in final minutes. Jackson, AM and State games competitive until issues with the long snapper and punter. Our team this year needed to play mistake free to be in a position to win. The talent level on this team was far below any other team in the SWAC.

He still might get the job,if he is the best candidate available. Time will tell. Then again we might hire Ashberry. Saw an article and he was listed as the 6th best HBCU coach in the nation.

Parker was injured before the game and Smalls had just rejoined the team and you STILL won by only a field goal in the last seconds.

Why fret over what we have no control over?....it is what it is....By the way, I already have my season ticket.

Tell McClelland to stop trying to sound important. Go ahead and hire Coe and stop trying to seem sooo important.
