Uhhhhhhhhhhh Not!!! LOL This is an ongoing debate that I am convinced will NEVER be solved. The truth is both bands did an EXCELLENT JOB!!! There were some mistakes by both bands, but the overall winner was the crowd. I am excited about next year!!!
 
Enjoyed both performances if I had to declare a winner it would be FAMU b/c their drills were more advanced. Although SU executed well the drill was high schoolish.

It was the best of both conferences...SU did what they were known for excellent drilling and FAMU came with what they are known for Animation...

FAMU always been real big with limits them from doing advanced drills.. but one thing I thought could have done better was work harder on straighter lines..(imo) Sound was good as expected...

Halftime was for the fans to decide.. and those who saw on TV the fans gave it to SU... :D

5th Quarter... SU muredered FAMU... it was two giants in the house...But SU was clearly the muscle that night..
 
I preferred FAMU on the field;however, both bands gave me something I needed in the stands and Southern gave me more of what I was looking for in the 5th

I agree with SUtrp96 that fans received the best of both conferences that day. Sure there were some flaws in both performances, but I can't let those little things supercede the fact that both bands still did an excellent job. Who you thought was better on the field or in the stands is always debatable, but I don't think that any other band could've dealt with SU or FAMU in the dome on that day. Intense game, fun atmosphere, loyal fans and 2 exciting bands all made this a great classic...I'm looking forward to next year.
 
I wont get into who I thought was the best or what ever but Southern Killed there slow tunes I dont think these clips did either bands the justice of being there. Southern could have played "Nobody supposed to be hear" and walked off the field after that.

SU murked FAMU in the stands. Playing them easy tunes like Say La La & Getaway smh. Field show went to whatever you preferred, you like animation then FAMU is your winner. You like straight drilling and blowing then SU is winner. I prefer SU's style of drilling compared to FAMU. Overall winner SU....

FAMU always puts on a great field show....but I just hate their style. So corny. SU murdered those dudes in the 5th. It wasn't even a contest in the stands. Famu just wack with their style in the stands. I don't know what they were doing. They have a nice sound that's about all I can say about them. It they didn't have all those people in their band they would be run of the mill.

SU has hit their stride. Their ballads are the best I've heard from SU in years & their sound is very full and clean now.


I think this is the best recorded version of this song. It allows you to hear the full band but nothing is muffled. Its loud so you might want to turn down your speakers.

This quote NEVER makes sense...the 2006 version of the Marching 100 was only 200-220 members...and still sounded strong....stop blaming size for quality

I don't think that "Brave" was saying that fam's current size makes them sound strong, I believe what he was saying is that if they were not 400+ strong, no one would even comment on them that much.
I could be wrong, but that is what I got of it.....
