STRICTLY from folks who were there and saw the game, were the majority of the picks bad decisions by Therriault, good plays by the defense, or just defenders getting hands up to tip passes?

Honestly, Casey didn't do the smart things to win the game. Casey should have run the ball after being flushed from the pocket. Also, the RBs should have been used more out of the backfield with passing routes. BJ Lee and Rico would have had a field day catching the ball out of the backfield, across the middle and deep because there isn't an LB that can run with them out of the backfield. I would have rotated BJ and Rico in the backfield for speed, mismatch, and short passing purposes only. This would have created a lot of confusion and frustration for the LBs. They would not have been prepared for this. This should have been a day all about RBs and TEs, but it was more about arrogance and stupidity. I think the majority of the blame goes to the HC, OC and Casey in that order.
 
Wait a minute... JSU had 6 interceptions? How many of them were Casey's before he was benched? Hell, how many did the second string have before he was benched?

UNBELIEVABLE!!!
 
Pick #1 was on a 4th and 20 from the ASU 28. He threw a jump ball that got tipped away, and then a DB dove and caught it in the endzone. Not such a bad INT, given the down, distance and location. Like a punt.

#2, we were inside the ASU 20 and the pass was tipped by ASU and picked.

#3, we were inside the ASU 20 and the ball bounced off a RB's hand and was picked.

#4 was the pick 6. Dude read it like he was in the huddle.

#5 he missed the TE running a seam route with overthrow and safety in 2 deep coverage picked it.

#6 he didn't get the ball over the LB on another seam route and LB picked it.
 
So is 6 int's supposed to give your teams some hope? :confused:

But seriously, our offense just doesnt' have "it" this year. We can win all the rest our games but they may not be pretty. When you lose 6 turnovers and still only lose by 7, it shows the potential of this team.

I wholeheartedly agree with that. Just plain ole dumb to be making 70 passes when the defense has 6-8 DB's in the game.
Bama State couldn't stop the run, but our dumb coaches played right into their hands. It wasn't like Bama State had a difficult defense to read. We should've taken what they were giving to us like the run and short intermediate 5-10 yard passes, but our coaches were too impatient, too pass happy and too blind to see that they couldn't stop our running game.

Instead Bama State took what we GAVE them.....on a silver platter.

The offense has everything, and I do mean everything JSU needs to win, except a head coach and offensive coordinator who know how to utilize the amount of talent he has.
 
One thing that yall didn't do was to use the TE earlier in the game. I
was listening to the radio station while sitting in the stands. The one
thing they said was "why don't we start using the TE." After he said
that, on the very next play you'll threw to the TE with a lot of success.
Along with that opinion, ASU also came ready to play.

Our RBs were averaging about 4 yards a carry. Comegy and Wilson should have been fired at midfield on Saturday. No way in hell you can explain racking up almost 500 yards of offense, with 31 first downs, and holding your opponent to a little over 200 yards, and you lose the game.

Against the worst run defense team in the SWAC someone has to have sum kinda sense to say lets run the ball they cant stop it...and they had 5 or 6 DB's on ever play... but I got to hand it to Bama State they played very conservative as a team and allowed us to lose the game....

I'm glad a few of you JSUers see this. Last week against SU, a few of them said that the coaches can't teach the players nothing because they don't know anything either. A few of the JSUers on here, said that JSU played perfect against SU. They didn't mention the turnovers but you can't turn the ball over, 5 times and expect to win. You guys got away with it against us, but it caught up with you all. Good luck the rest of the way.

It's the truth. Casey should have noticed that our running was productive and he should have immediately asked coach Wilson to send in more run plays than pass plays. The NFL is not looking for a QB who can throw the ball 70 times a game, they're looking for a QB who can manage a football game with the least stupidity and sloppy awareness. Casey showed a lack of awareness and leadership by not demanding coach Wilson to run the ball more. Casey did not take control of his offensive unit and utilize common sense as its leader. Casey should have called for trick plays, play action, shorter passing routes and etc. Stupidity and sloppiness sums up coach Comegy's career at JSU, and it's clear this virus infected all of his teams at JSU. I'm just glad that we'll have a new coaching staff at the end of this season.
 
Offensive coordinators are very arrogant individuals from the high school level to the NFL level. Just ask Mike Martz and June Jones for example. They believe in their systems and game plans, which at times can compromise the integrity of the offense. That's why Casey throws the ball 67 times in a game or Jay Cutler is passing the ball 51 times against the Saints even though OL proved in that game it couldn't pass block very effectively.

That's my frat but he ain't me :)

However, it's called coaching but it's also called being sorry. What were ya'll gonna do had we played conservative in the red zone. We could have played it conservative, kicks some FG and had ya'll over there crying becasue you couldn't do schitt against our offense. Your D is highly over-rated. Had we ran and made you bring some of those DBs up, you would have got creamed. Even with every man on your team in the backfield, you still gave up 400 yards thru the air. :lol:

Casey could have thrown for 600 yards for all I care. The goal is to win the game. And your passing helped us do that.
