I was born in Chicago in 1978 and moved to Mississippi in 1986. These past two weeks have been my longest time spent here since then. Outside of Africa, Chicago has the most poor ugly azz black people on this Earth. I have never seen so many ugly azz folks in one place in my damn life. Hell, a few times I thought I was in Somalia because certain parts of the city and the people looked so damn bad. No wonder there is so much damn crime here. Look at the damn people. What in the hell happened to this place. When I lived here as a kid, we roamed the streets with ease and everybody seemed to work and try to have something. Now most of these mofos just hang out on the street all damn day long. Mofos either had no shirt on or was wearing white T-shirts. What in the hell is up with these damn white T-shirts? Fruit of the Loom and Hanes are getting filthy rich off of these poor mofos. The food was awesome. I picked up about 20 pounds eating Polish Sausages, Gyros, Cheese Steaks, and Chicken Wings for two damn weeks.

You do know that most of the black people that are in Chicago has roots that came from Mississippi. :x:

From all over the South, not just Mississippi. That is a false assumption that a lot of people make. But most people moved up to Chicago way back in the 50s and 60s.

I won't get into the how the people of city look because I've seen blacks in other cities who look far worse than what you find here. But that's neither here nor there.

But as far as what happened to the city, a lot of it has to do with gentrification, crime, high taxes, high unemployment rates and politicians who are very much part of "The Machine" when it comes political business that has done no favors to blacks over the years.

There are 300,000 blacks living in poverty in the city. In some areas like Englewood and Roseland, unemployment is well over 20 percent. Then you factor in a lot of blacks have left the city and moved to the 'burbs or surrounding areas because it is damn expensive to live in the city. We pay some of the highest taxes in the country.

You also can't discount the influx of drugs that has just ravaged many urban neighborhoods, which has created the poverty and crime.

Didn't we try to tell Styles all of this, and some more, but he kept telling us he "knows" the City b/c he was raised here by his single mother?!?!

:smh:

Chicago also produces some of the rudest, most ignorant people you can ever meet. Them Chi-town mofos ruined many a good thing at J-state.

HUH??? I never disputed with you all about what was going on in Chicago. My dispute was what should be done about it. I remember you saying that the Military should be called in and rid the city of these thugs. I dissagreed with that. That was our only argument.

It's not a false assumption, in doing part of my family history I can trace it to Mississippi just like a lot of others that was raised in Chicago. I can't see how you're trying to cast a shadow on these people like this when you are a part of the same history.

Mainly on the North-West side: In and around Gairfield Park, Hamlin, Wilcox, Walnut, Lavergne, Chicago Ave, Huron, California (Cook County Court House), etc.

That's the problem right there, you must have some Rican in you...... LOL

What shadow am I trying to cast? Seriously? It is what it is. There are plenty of successfull blacks in this city.

What are you disputing?

You just threw a whole city into the fire...after seeing a couple spots. A spec on the map of the city. Plus the Westside is the slowest part of the city when it comes to renovation and development.

Thats like anytime someone says they from Mississippi I say its like this..

There is no way I was trying to throw the whole city into the fire. I heard folks on this site say much worse about Chicago. I'm heading to the airport now and will post again about this tomorrow.
