I look at it like this...If I wanted to date some overweitght...I would have approached an overweight woman....so I met and fell in love you at a size 5 or 6...so I'm expecting you to stay that size...I just have a preference *shruggs*

BTW nothing wrong with an overweight woman....they seem to care more...but again...if you coming into the relationship fine...I'd expect you to remain fine...just like I would try and remain fine for you

Nothing wrong with having preferences. :) But since you're expecting alot from your woman, especially to stay a certain size, expect her to not to have children, not to take birth control pills or any form of birth control or other certain medications. And if you're still with her when she reaches menopause, expect her not to take any type of hormone replacement therapeutic drugs. These all add weight to the body; nothing to do with food consumption.

Nothing wrong with your preference. Some women can (and want) to maintain that smaller frame. Just make sure you find someone who lives up to that.

I'm a Pretty Plus. LOVE my size, my curves, how I look naked, not trying to be skinny and certainly not for a man. What I do want is to be healthier more than anything, which is why I stay in the gym a few times a week and working on doing a lil better. Big girls (self included) ain't hurting for male attention on any level. So what ya'll will drop, someone else will gladly pick up. :)

Please don't take offense to this Pops; it is asked with genuine curiosity and respect only: who are you to offer a person to "hit the gym"? What makes you think a person wants to "hit the gym"? If you're the type of person who is insecure with letting yourself go, what makes you think that person feels the same about themselves as you about yourself?

Again, this is pure curiosity because I'm trying to develop some kind of understanding men and their logic in this.

Lioness, we will never understand what goes on in the mind of our partner trully. However, some people value fitness. Some people want their spouse to look their best possible and are willing to encourage and help them get there. It can be out of genuine love and concern for a person. I come from an obese family. I have seen what obesity can do. I am in the beginning of what will be a life long battle against my genetics.

Na see that's the thing about the children....I want alot of kids but come on...when you have that first one...try or show me that you're trying to loose the baby weight...if you just sitting around on yo azz just saying that "ole this baby weight is hard to get off"
I'm not trying to hear it...get yo azz up and lets go run a mile or something...that's all i"m speakin about...hell Eddie Murphy put in his martial clause that his weight retain a certain weight...why can't I expect my wife or woman to retain her certain size...that size that I met you at

Personally, if I start slipping. I would want a mate to tell me that I am slipping. I want someone who is going to always help me be my best while accepting my flaws.

It depends on HOW MUCH weight she gains. For a lot of us, weight gain is inevitable. But gaining a whole new person is just unappealing.

Big girls can be fine too..

Well coming from someone who didn't let them selves go but just didn't really know how three squares would make you gain that much weight(calories). ADD to that lifting all that heavy weight and a kid can go from 210 to 281. My wife was a size 8 when we got together and then got up to a 14. I didn't think she was big. She was thick in all the right places to me. She could still do 45-60 minutes of cardio and all her vitals was fine....Now that she's down to a size 6 that I noticed how much bigger she was at a 14 and me the same. Getting back to that 210 in an eye opener...

This whole topic comes down to women being judged and valued in regards to their looks more so than men are. It's always been that way and will be forever.

Would you prefer the dude stay with you if you gained weight.. which means 9 times out of 10 he loses his attraction to you and starts seeking the attraction that you USED to have? Because if he stays with you more than likely thats whats going to happen. People tend to forget that with men, physical attraction is more than likely what made them approach you to begin with. And yes the "love" thing should be eternal but you're fooling yourself if you believe that's enough to keep a man committed to you if the attraction is gone. That'll eventually lead to the sex life slacking off and disappearing and go downhill from there.

eh...that's how it is...men are not suppose to look cute and pretty...lol..that beauty is all apart of the woman...

lol @ who are you? that his mate..he should be able to make suggestions in a relationship. Thats like saying...who are you to offer a person a meal? It seemed like a suggestion and not a demand from what I read.

Unless I'm wrong, Pops said in his post that some women (and men) get offended at the suggestion of hitting the gym. He DID NOT clarify it was a girlfriend, wife, significant other, f*ck buddy that he offered his suggestion to, which is why I asked him the question. I'm guessing he offered his "suggestion" to males as well as females. The point I was trying to make is why should the way he feels about letting himself go be "suggested" to someone who has a better self-esteem about themself?

Haven't seen any parts of 210 since I pledged.

However, I went from 240 to 270 and I hated the way I looked. I looked huge. I felt uncomfortable on planes and such. I am at 235 and I love it now.

Nothing wrong with that. You just make sure YOU maintain whatever it is that she finds attractive in you. IT GOES BOTH WAYS. Some of ya'll men are a trip. Want a woman to keep certain looks all the while you're failing to keep or worse, NEVER HAD, similar attractive (physical, mental/emotional) qualities.

I gained a total of 10 lbs. during my pregnancy, and all of that was my son. I did gain weight AFTER he was born, but it wasn't a huge number. I've lost some inches and my body is sculpted a little different (for the better) thanks to months in the gym, and I haven't gained alot of weight over the years. But that ain't because I was trying to hold onto a man.

So you want someone to accept you and your flaws, but at the same time tell you you're getting fat, thick, heavy, fluffy, big? Your weight could be viewed as a flaw.

I digress.....I think you were right Crit.....

lol Seems like men like, what they like and it's their singleton choice. Either be a part of it or move on. Those are the only options.

I feel you...it does goes both ways...I mean this six pack that I have lol wont be in place forever...but right now I"m doing all i can to maintain it so it wont be come a 1 liter...that's all I"m saying...come into the situation and leave outta the situation the same if you can help it..

Yep. Weight is controllable 96 for the most part. What I consider flaws aren't. Yes, tell a brother if he is getting fat. Don't let me sit around and keep eating and think nothing is wrong with it.
