topdog: CSU doesn't have funds to pay for Tressel.. It would be nice if CSU could get Johnnie Cole though..

Bob Stoops
Bo Pelini
Mark Dantonio...

If Urban Meyer comes back then he is a jerk.. And Will not be able to recruit Florida

Urban Meyer......former OSU assistant. First job was OSU....he will be the alums favorite choice
Mike Dantonio.......former DC under Tressel when OSU won NC....did well at Cincy and now at Michigan State. He can only do so much in East Lansing
Bo Pellini.......OSU alum and former player. Doing well at Nebraska..but he has had a couple of issues with some in Cornhusker land
Mike Stoops........another OSU former assistant. Current coach at Arizona. Decent coach just can't get the horses to come to Arizona for football to stay consistent
Jon Gruden......Ohio guy....don't think he will even consider coaching right now unless it is a NFL job that he can be coach and GM
Greg Schiano....Rutgers coach.....lost some luster after Ray Rice and company graduated and he may be tired of waiting on the Penn State job if he even gets it.

You can scratch Urban Meyer off that list. He may be from Ohio, but he isn't going to come back that soon. He is waiting on the Penn State job or the Notre Dame to come open again. Ohio State's guy is either D'Antonio or Gruden.

He may not have a job. But he aint desperate. LOL. Even Pete Richardson another Ohio native aint that desperate. I can see Tressel just chilling and maybe getting a TV job and just teach class at OSU.

It don't work like that bruh. Tressel did the initial cover-up. You aint going to get the AD and Prez fired over that. Gee is in his second stint at OSU and raises much money academically. He aint going no where. OSU football and the school is bigger than Tressel. Plus they are going to take good care of him just like they did when Woody Hayes had to be fired. Even Earle Bruce and John Cooper retired from coaching after OSU. LOL. Tressel is taking one for the team and school and if he initially covered it up........he should do so. I still like ole sweater vest but at this point, with the way folks already hate OSU and the Big 10.......he had to step down. Gene Smith a power broking AD that chairs some NCAA committees. He aint going no where. He has done well as an AD there. Besides he is a cool brother too.

LOL. Yeah, even Clarett will not be hated as much as Ray. Actually Clarett is back in school at Ohio State courtesy of Tressel. Ray was a malcontent from day 1. Even Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr and other kids from that HS in Cleveland who suited up for OSU couldn't talk any sense into him. Just would not do right. Now he wants to talk. LOL.

You keep on saying that when all points to Ohio State. It is easier for him to win at Ohio State than Notre Dame and by the way Kelly is doing fine. He has an easy schedule and will get to a BCS bowl in 2011. They won 8 games last year. Have a good nucleaus back and should be fine. ND can't keep hiring and firing coaches. Plus you obviously have not paid attention how quiet Meyer has been about this. Trust me.......folks in Ohio are very close to Meyer and he was one of Tressel's good friends. If he coaches again....it will not be at ND or Penn State. Penn State is not going to hire him either. I don't know why you think Meyer is like anti Ohio State. His wife is really tight with many OSU alums too and has a connection to Ohio State. Home is home

They are fine. Nothing has changed but the coach. Most of those kids came to Ohio State just because it was Ohio State. I am sure some are nervous. But a lot of those kids are recruited by assistant coaches who are still there. Now next season will be interesting depending who is the head coach.

Guys,

Urban Meyer got tired of the stress of being an SEC COACH (When the last 3 or 4 National Champions come from your conference, it not stressful week in and week out, it is stressful day in and day out in the SEC).

Like JR said, Meyer would enjoy Ohio State because it would be a bit easier for him to win.

They have always wanted to play BCS busters. It always seemed though that there was that one team at the #2 spot that would always keep them from the National Title Game (Assuming that the #1 Team...well as of late, comes from the SEC).

Boise State still feels it needs to prove itself.

Not only that.........for the same money. Ohio State can pay whatever he wants. Now, I am not an Meyer fan and I actually hope Luke Fickell does well enough to get hired full time. If not, my vote would be for Dantonio from Michigan State. Should be interesting on who emerges as the front runner. But right now it is Fickell job to lose.


Urban is not squeaky clean either. He had a lot of players get arrested during his tenure at Florida. Maybe he wanted out of that. Who knows. I still don't buy he was so stressed. I think he just knew it was not going to be easy living up to winning the SEC after Saban arrived on the scene.

Why? Just because Tressel is gone? LMAO. I like the Hoke hire. But Ohio State still has more talent than Michigan right now. And the game is in Columbus this year. Pryor and company will want to go out with a signature win. Might mean the right to go to a BCS bowl game depending on how they do without those 5 players for the first half of the season. Maybe in 2012 I give Michigan the edge to might be able to win in Ann Arbor. That's even if Tressel had stayed. They got to win sometime. LOL.

Terrelle Pryor facing significant inquiry

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- On the same day coach Jim Tressel resigned in the wake of an NCAA investigation, The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that the NCAA and Ohio State are looking into whether star quarterback Terrelle Pryor received cars and other extra benefits.

Pryor, who will be a senior this fall, has already been interviewed at least once by investigators, the paper reported.

The newspaper cited unnamed sources who said this is the most significant inquiry of Pryor. The NCAA and Ohio State are also probing more than 50 car purchases by Buckeyes players, their families and friends.

T. Pryor is about to get the Maurice Clarett treatment at Ohio State. Pryor should have use common sense and entered the NFL draft this year when the QB position was the weakest it has been in years. He let Tressel talk his azz into staying and look at this. He will probably miss the entire 2011 season.

(No pun intended) They must have been putting a lot of pressure on or he had a real epiphany felt he had done enough--he may have been the best thing for the university and probably messed things up by trying to get rid of him!
