Probably best for all involved... Good coach. He'll end up at Penn State when Joe Pa steps down.

Ray Small put the nail in the coffin. He came out and said everybody at tOSU was selling stuff. Then he tried to back track. Ray Small and Tressel didn't get along at all while he played there. It seemed like Ray purposely made those statements to help get Tressel out of there.

Anybody seen my LB JR? JR, you know you my dawg, but even you can't be surprised, but this should have happened a long time ago. I don't think any other coach in the country could have gotten away with this for this long.

Yeah, that is a good point... but that's probably the gig he wants. Surely, he can come in contrite and all and convince them that he looked the other way for his kids but not again.

Are you kidding me? Nah......Jim is done. He will not coach again. Penn State already knows who they will hire. Either Al Golden if he does well at Miami or Schiano from Rutgers.

Aint no hard times at Ohio State. You know how many coaches will want that job. LOL. A lot of Buckeyes love Tressel but thought he was too conservative. Would not be shocked if one of the Stoops boys not named Bob come back to Ohio.

Yes they would have. Saban, Stoops, Mack Brown, Joe Pa, etc would have all gotten the same treatment. LOL.

Why do you think he wants the Penn State gig Mike B? He has no ties to that program and he will not get it anyway. Tressel's family are long time Ohio folks. His Dad was a HS coaching legend in the state. He will be fine. He said all he wanted to do is teach after coaching. Ohio State will allow him to do that if he wants. Maybe he goes back to Youngstown State to get them back to respectability. But he is done just like John Cooper was when he got fired at Ohio State.

You think that's it for him... Maybe not a national power, but he'll end up somewhere (if he choses, cuz he should have plenty of loot)

Only because Joe Pa is due to die soon (lol) and being that it's a Big Ten school. He might go back to Younstown...if it was me, I'd go coach high school, teach social studies, and enjoy family life.

If you ever met Tressel or heard him talk about life after coaching. He was close to giving it up anyway. Folks always thought if he won another title he would step down. Dude loves to teach classes. I would not be shocked to see him stay away from the game.

I wouldn't be shocked if YSU threw out the welcome wagon for him. They have not won since he left for Ohio State. As for Joe Pa......he will probably die in the job or get so sick he can't continue.

Michigan State is probably getting nervous. Dantonio was the DC when Ohio State won the NC. Stoops at Arizona may want to get back home and he has not been able to win consistently out there. Gruden is another Ohio cat......don't know if he will give up his gig on ESPN. Then there is always the Urban Meyer rumors. I doubt he can justify coming back this soon. He would look like he just wanted out of Florida if he took that job.

Ray Small hates Jim Tressel. He is the kid Tressel gave numerous chances and kept fugging up. Aint shocked he is the one to be a snitch. He is the kind of player my old man hated. When they fugg up and get booted from the program or don't make it in the NFL. They start talking. I don't know how many times that kid go reinstated because Ted Ginn Sr and Tressel have a good relationship. Could have been a good player. Didn't want to go to class either.

You might be right. LOL. Fickell will coach this year and if he doesn't win at least 8 or 9 games. They will look to hire someone else. Now if he does win and go to a BCS bowl. Ohio State will be hard pressed to demote a young guy in Fickell who is 38 from Columbus and former 4 year starter at Ohio State. My guess is these guys will be in the hunt:

Urban Meyer......former OSU assistant. First job was OSU....he will be the alums favorite choice
Mike Dantonio.......former DC under Tressel when OSU won NC....did well at Cincy and now at Michigan State. He can only do so much in East Lansing
Bo Pellini.......OSU alum and former player. Doing well at Nebraska..but he has had a couple of issues with some in Cornhusker land
Mike Stoops........another OSU former assistant. Current coach at Arizona. Decent coach just can't get the horses to come to Arizona for football to stay consistent
Jon Gruden......Ohio guy....don't think he will even consider coaching right now unless it is a NFL job that he can be coach and GM
Greg Schiano....Rutgers coach.....lost some luster after Ray Rice and company graduated and he may be tired of waiting on the Penn State job if he even gets it.

Ray Small and his family should definitely consider leaving Buckeye state immediately.. I wouldn't be surprise if the folks at OSU kick Ray out of school in couple of months... Small is currently scout team player in NFL...

i would not have resigned... If I go Gene Smith goes with me.. The Compliance director goes with me.. The president goes too... Unless they pay me well which Im sure they are about to do.. We all gonna get dirty and get fired and replaced
