Seriously, are you ever too old to do anything? Why do folks say that? For instance, what if I want to listen to rap music and go to the clubs? Why I got to be too old for that? If I want to ride a motorcycle at 40, why I got to be too old for that? I am beginning to realize why life expectancy is short for us people, we don’t enjoy life. Folks are to up tight in our community. Man yall better start enjoying life, because once you can’t move or dead it’s over. There is really no such thing as getting to old to do anything. Work and enjoy life, or it will pass you by. Believe that!!!! What is the use of working and you never treat yourself to a real vacation or gifts? Why wait to go on a real vacation at 60 when you can really enjoy it more at 30-40? Retiring in good health ain’t guaranteed.

I'm enjoying life right now and doing just what I wanna do- how, when, what and who I want.

Cee, I feel ya. Folks be killin me with that nonsense. Now granted, there may be a few things that should get old after a while (fightin in da club. :emlaugh: ); but other than that, I say enjoy life. :nod: I know I do. I STILL kicks it- maybe not as hard, but I do make sure I have a good dayum time. :tup:

Just like this past weekend; we went to the Kilo/Raheem the Dream/MC Shy D concert....it was mostly ATL/GA folks in our age range- no fights or nuthin....just folks dancing to the music and having a good time like it was the 80's/90's all over again. :lol: :tup:

I don't think that a person can be "too old" to listen to Rap/Hip-Hop. However, there is a certain point in life where a person looks foolish trying to start certain careers (Rap, modeling, certain sports, etc.). When you see most rappers or models in their 30's or 40's, you better believe that they started out when they were in their teens or 20's. I can't take you seriously if you've worked regular jobs from 18 on up and you are talking about putting out your first mixtape at 30-35. Dude, you're way older than most of your target audience! :lol:

Some things like miniskirts on a 40+ woman or bikini swim trunk and wife beaters on 40+ men.

Fighting...You learn how to control your temper, but I don't think you get to old to fight. When the fight comes to you, you might not want to...but you not too old to fight.

Rapping/modeling...you are NEVER too old to start a new career. I think many of you are thinking their audience would be the same. I'm sure they will need to target an audience closer to their age to be successful but it can be done. You've seen that older model show, She's Got the look?

And yes, I too get tired of folks waiting forever to do something exciting. I date this dude and he is forever calling me when shows like "When Vacations Go Wild" and disasters happen on vacation islands happen. He thinks I need to "sat down and get out the streets". :smh: I'm like Damn! Dude! What the hell you waiting on to...LIVE? I ask if he wants to go...but don't wait for him if he can't seem to make it--physically or in his mind. :lol:

I always think of these two professors that worked at Alcorn for 30+ years...the minute they retired, planning all these big vacations and moving to new locations to buy dream homes...you know they dropped dead in less than a year. I ain't waiting for shat.

I beg the differ. I've seen some 40+ and 50+ women in miniskirts, bathing suits, etc..... that would put early 20 year old females to shame.

Very few though. She's actually right about that.

She's also right about modeling. You can be a mature model. There are many different types of models and there's nothing to say that you can't start at a later age.

Very few? Maybe you all need to move somewhere else. Hell, I see 40+ and 50+ women out here that take their shape and health seriously.

I agree. It's some older folks in Atlanta who look better than these young folks.

I want to take some vacations in my 30's.. My plan right now is too hustle super hard in my 20's so I can be ready to have a little fun in my 30's and make some power moves.

Well, If I die tommorrow, the last thing on my mind will be what vacation I missed out on. :lol:
I guess I could but I have things I need to get in order. Right now, I need to finish grad school, get a new job (both I hope to have accomplished within the next few months), get some articles published in peer review journals and take care of some personal health issues. I plan on making a few small trips here and there but I would like to travel the world in my 30's (maybe as a part of my job also).


I sat down a few days ago and tried to map out how I would like my life to go from age 27-31 (God Willing of course). You sound like my gf though. She asked me the other day if I have sat down and thought of where I would like to visit for a weekend and I was like, no. Hasn't really been on my mind. After I get my career steadied and finish grad school, I may be open to more things. Right now, I am sort of focused.

Man, I'm almost too old to play video games. I know that sounds bad at 27, but it's hard to give it up. I got about another three years left before I retire I think. Plus, my younger cousin and his friends just beat the crap out of me in games now. LOL.

I agree. I know some 40+ women still in a size 4-6 and look better than half of these young chicks.

Some folks are too dayum old to be on campus everyday still trying to act like an undergrad. People get to dayum old to be really arguing over which fraternity or sorority is better than the others.

:confused: Hol' la' hell up nah. What's wrong w/ a "wife beater" (we called dem tee-shirts back in my day) and bikini swim trunks on a 40+ y/o man? :confused: I'm oh-ffended. :| I still wear those tee-shirts and bikinis lol to the gym when I workout and when I hit the hot tub afterwards. :D

I wore a purple thong lol bikini riding a motorcycle (pronounced: "motor-sickle" ) for my 40th bday a few yrs back. lol Did it for 27.2 miles. :emlaugh: In the home area though. lol
