Imfamous north Texas ice storm. Can you say everything's locked down but the prostitutes and hoes legs around here? :D

As long as money talk and everything else walk, Jerry and North Texas will host the SB again. Despite the price tag, everything is selling out. These are business decisions.

What did we do? Not enough hookers? Of course it really doesn't matter to me. I didn't make a dime off the last one.

Well I live in DFW...aside from the stadium, I see no reason to ever have another Super Bowl in north Texas. As far as I'm concerned, the SuperBowl should rotate between LA, New Orleans, and Miami. I will say that as long as Jerryworld is in Arlington, Houston will never host the SB again.

Its not the city because to be honest it seemed like there was alot more excitement and alot more entertainment options when it was in Houston. Hell I spent two nights in downtown Houston (where they relaxed the open container laws) for that Main Event thing. Dallas doesn't have anything like that. Up here you have Ft. Worth, Arlington, and
Dallas fighting for attention. I'm talking about the stadiums. You just can't compare Reliant Stadium to whats in Arlington. The Cowboys stadium upstages Reliant on every level. Texas isn't Florida so its unlikely the Superbowl would be awarded to cities in the same state within a short period of time. So if the NFL decides it wants to come to Texas, Dallas would likely be the choice.

I think the Super Bowl should have a true home field feel to it. Teams work all season for home-field advantage, get it in the playoffs, only to have it taken away come the biggest game of the year. It would be really neat to see the Super Bowl in Pittsburgh Sunday in the elements with an electric home crowd.

Re: This is going to make a lot of people upset....

The Superbowl 50 committee is already in place, with Troy Aikman as the local chairman. Roger Staubach was the SB45 committee chairman. You can best believe the SB will be back in North Texas as soon as possible (50). The NFL is all about expsoure and $$$. And these wealthy white folks over here are going to shell-out the bucks to out-spend any other host city. The corporate 'big 50' here are all onboard also. So, when you combine Jerry Jones with ExxonMobile, JCPenney, McAfee, Schepps, Dr.Pepper/Snapple, Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, AT&T, Southwest Airlines, Blockbuster, Frito-Lay (PepsiCo), Greyhound and the other companies, there's more than enough sponsorships to spread around.

They've got a coalition of municipal govts working together like a well-oiled machine.

The only kink in the ointment was BNSF not allowing the TRE to lease the main track (that runs just south of the Stadium - along Division). DART and the T wanted to run the TRE on the BNSF main on gameday to get people to/from the Stadium. They would've built a temporary station and run shuttles from the track to the JerryWorld doorstep. But BNSF wasn't having it.

Despite the weather, the SB has been a success even before the game is ever played.

THAT's why it'll be back here, sooner than later.

Super Bowl 50 is a longshot for Dallas, especially if LA gets a new stadium. While there will probably be another Super Bowl in the DFW area, it's unlikely Dallas is going to become a regular hosting site on the level of New Orleans, South Florida, and Southern California.

Home field does it's job by carrying a team to the SuperBowl door step. Neutral/Level playing field is the goal for the Superbowl.

Not after this weather it will not be. Not to mention folks are already complaining about stuff being too spread out and no one area to just be centralized in like South Beach in Miami or Bourbon Street in New Orleans. By that time San Diego and Los Angeles will have new stadiums. I think Goodell is starting to get some ire from the rest of the NFL for these choices. I think Dallas will be a long time getting another SB similiar to what happened with Houston minus the weather. LOL. After this run of Super Bowls in Indy and New York coming up. Folks going to want to be somewhere warm.
