Triangle Tribune Reports Broadway to A&T

One thing about it, people come to play for Grambling, not the coach. I can honestly say that. We have recruits, you will see.
 
Wife was telling me that one of her co-worker in Ferriday was saying that Broadway was gone and that Doug was headed back.

HOW IS HE GONNA COACH? WHEN THEY INTERVIEWED HIM DURING THE CLASSIC HE SAID HE WAS OVER A NEW FOOTBALL LEAGUE SOMEWHERE. I CANT REMEMBER THE EXACTED PLACE BUT HOW IS THIS GONNA PLAY OUT? IS HE GONNA LEAVE THAT LEAGUE OR WAS HE EVER OVER IT? JUST ASKING
 
Man, that dude just wanted to get the hell out of North Louisiana. I'm not trying to be funny but the working and living conditions of North Louisiana/Grambling cannot be compared to the Triad/NCA&T. Its just a better quality of life and better working enviornment. Real talk. :smh:

He will probably get a deal similar to Frazier at NC Central.......(5 years at 225+ incentives..)

Have you ever worked in North Louisiana or are you just speculating?:) BTW, it's more to the situation that you know about.

He is General manager for a new team they are starting in that "Alternative" football league. Some those teams Jersey colors seemed suspect......

That league is just starting up and I am sure he has no contract that binds him to stay there and would leave to come back to coaching if he has a chance.

And This is the only reason he gone.. This is Broadway last year on his Grambling Contract with no talks of extentions so he had to dip. Just like Comegy will dip too if he can. its a lot easier to get a job while you got a job then trying to get a job without a job.
Aint got nothing to do with close to home. He got a staff and their families to look after.

I don't think it was that. Broadway is used to being in the country. I just think La in general may have not been a good fit for him. He knows North Carolina well and has a comfort zone up there. He will not be treated as an outsider at A&T like he was at Grambling. Broadway don't seem like a guy who needs the bright lights of a big city. But he just always seemed like he was not enjoying himself in N. La. Maybe his social life sucked up there. I know his wife passed away while he was at NC Central and his son played for him up there. So maybe he wants back close to family folks. Gram paid him well and he won. But sometimes going back where you come from is important or being somewhere that you feel like is home. I am just saying.

Broadway unlike Pete Richardson and his wife just never seemed to adjust being in La. Just my outside of the loop observation.
 
I would rather not be Dougs back up plan, he already left because of BS dealing with the program. What would make you think he wants more?

Good point. But you would think Gram would extend Broadway. Did folks in power or behind the scenes plot against him? If so, that may be the real reason he bounced. He obviously from a wins and loss standpoint deserved to get an extension. I can understand JSU not giving Comegy one.

Jindal aint giving no more money to a football Coach at a college he feels shouldnt even be open.

Would you put the blame on Grambling becuz he left because it seems that JSU isn't the only school who likes to leaves coaches in limbo........
