I thought the spot was pretty funny, but not a lot of people see it that way.

Recently, a CLUTCH reader brought this new State Farm commercial, staring Selita Ebanks and Mehcad Brooks, to our attention. She was concerned because she felt it showcased Black women in a negative, stereotypical light—loud, and complaining about Black men.

And this one, too:

The recent controversy over a State Farm commercial featuring Selita Ebanks and Mehcad Brooks is another matter. The State Farm commercial features a "sassy," angry black woman who is henpecking her significant other about running into another car. It is complete with lip-smacking, ubiquitous "umm hmms" and I swear I saw a finger snap and a head roll up in there too. I could be wrong, but I would be shocked if State Farm didn't engage with some "multicultural" firm when coming up with this concept and executing it.

I seriously hate uppity ninjas. What is racist about that? I mean come on man, the same folks complaining wouldn't say nothing if a real racist situation occurred in the job.

Man that shat is funny I don't care what nobody say.

Selita Ebanks dates Phillies slugger Ryan Howard. Man, I should have tried to get better at baseball.

The ad just shows guys prefer chicks with who are fine, light-skinned with long hair and nice tits over loud short-haired country wannabes.

Even though, I like tall light skinned chicks with long hair, I still have to :smh:

State Farm got a bunch of commercials like that. The first one was 3 guys sitting around when a baseball crashed through a window. They all sung the song. The first guy got his insurance agent. The BLACK WISHED FOR A SAMMICH. The third guy wished for the girl in apt. 3g and a hot tub.

Kenn, can you please delete his account?????? On the grounds that he says the most stupid stuff entirely too much.

This the person thinking it okay to get oral sex from the neighborhood boys...if your wife or GF won't? It's a dude.

CT, I don't know though. They have expressed some female like admiration from Beyonce. It is far beyond the normal guy, "I think she fine and I would beat it up talk"
