Open Letter to NBC

Loyalty & Respect
Dear NBC,
It is that time of the year again. The time of the year when you are forced to accept money from two poor schools in Louisiana to broadcast a horrible game with $2 commercials. I understand that you really would rather spare your viewers this game but you are afraid of being protested and having Al Sharpton writing mean spirited letters about you in the New York Times. However, we have become increasingly concerned about some of the imagery shown during the annual Dog and Pony Classic.

We have compiled a list of things we would like to see censored from the

DogandPonyShow.jpg

They threaten the progress that the African American community has made over the past forty years.

First NBC, Please do not show anymore of the following because it conjures up memories of black face and ultimately is a slap in the face of accomplished and skilled black performers.

Next, Please do not show the following anymore because it is disrespectful to colored women of larger proportions. It wouldn't be so bad if it was done with artistic integrity but it is done as a cheap sideshow trick.

Untitled3.jpg

Also,
Please do not show anymore images of grown men crying. It hurts the image of dark skinned brothers.

As we think of other things we would like to see censored, we will be sure to send them over.

Thanks,
Concerned Black People of America.

P.S. if this game gets too boring or is a complete blowout you can switch your broadcast to this.

Somebody, please post a picture of that "yes we can" coin toss sign from 2008. I have a important statement to make about that one.

Dear NBC,
Black people have struggled hard over the past 40 years and it pains me to see the award winning campaign slogan our first african american president made a mockery of. It is extremely upsetting to older black people.

Naa mane,
As much as I hate SU, I don't want to see that debacle. Hopefully, if things are better next year I will be there in 2011. Crazy thing is that I don't care for the JSU/Alcorn game anymore but I try to always catch the bayou classic. The promoters have made a mockery of the CCC.

Me too pops, I figure if it goes down hill real fast I can always turn the channel.
