Eva Longoria Parker Files for Divorce

Because it's ALWAYS women's fault. Can't you see that?

Seriously, the increase in the rate of divorce has coincided with the women's lib movement. Is it merely a coincidence or is there cause and effect at play here? Did the change in women's attitudes and the spread of no-fault divorce cheapen marriage? What's really going on?

Are you truly concerned about the sanctity of marriage or do you just get butt-hurt whenever somebody says something about women?

Huh? :noidea:

Marriage is a beautiful thing. I still believe in it. But what's a problem is you seem to always put everything on the woman for failed relationships. Everything is say is about "women should make better choices." While that's true, men need to make better choices, too and stop lying down with everything. Both sexes have their faults and issues that they bring into any relationship/marriage that could cause it to fail.

We'll never get anywhere, if we (both men and women) continue to point fingers and not own up to what's wrong.

So, you get butt-hurt when people blame women because you want men to be blamed too.

I see.

Fairness.

That's part of the problem. Women wanting things to be "fair" and "equal". That's the mentality I'm talking about that has led to this entire mess we're in.

The idea that women are equal to men is a dread evil. Too bad that's not fair. It's true.

:shame:

Word is that Tony was banging the wife of ex-teammate Brent Barry. Him and his wife are coincidently going threw a divorce as well.

Here is a picture of all 4 of them. http://twitpic.com/37pnxk

Bang, bang, bang!!!

Ironic. I was just saying the <b>exact same words</b> last night to a female regarding how I've now come to treat women like I treat men, since this is what women seemingly want when their selective amnesia fails them in such a way that they recall that they don't have a dick and nutts swinging between their legs @ certain intervals and would want to be "treated" like a female of old was treated. Women don't want to be "female" anymore but rather would want to be thought of as a male-equal, so in my mind, they want to be men w/ a larger ration of testosterone to estrogen/progesterone hormones, like us males.

men need to make better choices, too and stop lying down with everything. Both sexes have their faults and issues

I certainly agree w/ you Crittarena. Wished I could've had this epiphany when I was a 22 y/o. Could've saved me a lot of stress and $$$$$$ trying to navigate who's what.

In this situation I blame Tony Parker for being dumb. I heard on the radio this morning that she caught him when the other woman was texting him on his phone. You think he would have learned from Tiger Woods. If you are going to cheat on your wife, never have the other woman communicate with you on your electronic devices you carry everyday. You will get caught every time because a woman is going to look through them or the monthly bill. If you tell her not to, she is going to do it anyway. Also putting passwords (which she will probably guess what it is) and locks are a dead give-a-way. If you have to cheat on your wife, get a cheap pre-paid phone that is always kept on silence. Then put it someplace in the house she does not frequently go to. But you should not be cheating in the first place. You are better off in the long run leaving her and coming back when the fling is over. I have yet to meet a man that has cheated on his wife and never gotten caught at some point in time, especially a rich one.

Our world is sick. Today's "independent woman" has made marriage an untenable situation. For both parties. I'm convinced only stupid people get married.

WOOOOOOOOW. This statement is so sad, that it's actually funny.

Four in 10 say marriage is becoming obsolete

WASHINGTON – Is marriage becoming obsolete?

As families gather for Thanksgiving this year, nearly one in three American children is living with a parent who is divorced, separated or never-married. More people are accepting the view that wedding bells aren't needed to have a family.

A study by the Pew Research Center, in association with Time magazine, highlights rapidly changing notions of the American family. And the Census Bureau, too, is planning to incorporate broader definitions of family when measuring poverty, a shift caused partly by recent jumps in unmarried couples living together.

About 29 percent of children under 18 now live with a parent or parents who are unwed or no longer married, a fivefold increase from 1960, according to the Pew report being released Thursday. Broken down further, about 15 percent have parents who are divorced or separated and 14 percent who were never married. Within those two groups, a sizable chunk — 6 percent — have parents who are live-in couples who opted to raise kids together without getting married.

Indeed, about 39 percent of Americans said marriage was becoming obsolete. And that sentiment follows U.S. census data released in September that showed marriages hit an all-time low of 52 percent for adults 18 and over.

In 1978, just 28 percent believed marriage was becoming obsolete.

When asked what constitutes a family, the vast majority of Americans agree that a married couple, with or without children, fits that description. But four of five surveyed pointed also to an unmarried, opposite-sex couple with children or a single parent. Three of 5 people said a same-sex couple with children was a family.

"Marriage is still very important in this country, but it doesn't dominate family life like it used to," said Andrew Cherlin, a professor of sociology and public policy at Johns Hopkins University. "Now there are several ways to have a successful family life, and more people accept them."

The broadening views of family are expected to have an impact at Thanksgiving. About nine in 10 Americans say they will share a Thanksgiving meal next week with family, sitting at a table with 12 people on average. About one-fourth of respondents said there will be 20 or more family members.

"More Americans are living in these new families, so it seems safe to assume that there will be more of them around the Thanksgiving dinner table," said Paul Taylor, executive vice president of the Pew Research Center.

The changing views of family are being driven largely by young adults 18-29, who are more likely than older generations to have an unmarried or divorced parent or have friends who do. Young adults also tend to have more liberal attitudes when it comes to spousal roles and living together before marriage, the survey found.

But economic factors, too, are playing a role. The Census Bureau recently reported that opposite-sex unmarried couples living together jumped 13 percent this year to 7.5 million. It was a sharp one-year increase that analysts largely attributed to people unwilling to make long-term marriage commitments in the face of persistent unemployment.

Dang bigman lol. Sounds like some great advise you're giving. :read: Esp the part w/ the 2nd celly that's a pre-paid w/ rollover minutes. :swink: Funny, I actually carried 2-3 mobiles when I was murried. :read: Now, I carry only one. :)

You're certainly right, you shouldn't cheat in the 1st place, I agree wholeheartedly w/ that.

But I guess that's just me....I always look at the glass half full. I could give two shyts about these journals, surveys, and so forth.

Dude, even through ALL that, a woman can STILL catch you and bypass all that.

And put it in the house and some place she doesn't look? :xeye:   There is NO place a woman doesn't look when it comes to her house. Every nook and hole is noticed and checked. And wouldn't try hiding it in the car either. We check there, too. Better keep that phone at work.

It's some deeeeeeeeeeeep stuff and I know <b>factually</b> that I'm a part of the larger problem rather than bending over to become part of the solution due to my desire to intravert self.

"<b>The Black family has crumbled more in the last 30 years than it did in the entire 14 decades since slavery,</b>" says Dr. Julia Hare, author, psychologist and executive director of San Francisco's the Black Think Tank.

I believe that statement up there ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, solely based on what I'm seeing (current) and what I've seen (past). And, I don't think it's ever going to return. We're enjoying the middle-class 'perks' more than ever these days and seemingly don't want to be bothered w/ those of the opposite sex w/in our own genre of race designation.

As big as their house(s) probably are, she might not even go into every room.

Ummm ... 50%, 40% and 27% is not success, dear.

That's called failure.

And many of those people are not in successful marriages, they are just together.

If the odds for failure are that high, how can any sensible person argue that it's a risk worth taking? Seriously. Considering one's mental and financial well-being. The well-being of any potential children involved. :noidea:

It just seems to me that the risks far outweigh any rewards. Especially, when those rewards can be had with substantially less risk.

Refusing to see reality as it is does not make the situation any less real.
