SWAC Suspends and Fines JSU's Comegy


They're questionable calls at most SWAC games, so I don't see why Comegy thinks JSU was immune, dude should have kept walking if he knew he would cuss. He's been coaching long enough to know he was going to catch hell so it was dumb on his part on what he did.

(S2B)Dr. Henry Frazier, III was suspended for a game a few yrs ago for publicly lashing the SWAC refs. Deal w/ it. It's a part of what's required in this conf (don't publicly speak negatively about SWAC officiating).
 
Comegy didn't lose his composure. He said exactly what he wanted to say on camera. I agree with the Commissioner's decision and the University's decision.
 
Actually I thought the fine should have been more severe. But I also think Comegy didnt go far enough to make his point. You cant keep letting someone abuse your team like that all game long. It was obvious what was happening from the first period on.

As the silly unwarranted pentalties started to mount, Comegy should have come more and more off the sideline. By the time Casey was flagged for grounding when he was almost out of bounds and he threw the ball downfield, Comegy should have gone to the middle of the field and sat down like a lunch counter sit in. Folks in Montgomery know something about protesting injustice.

Those stupid penalties lead directly to two Bama TDs. And they were so bad and atrocious. I can see that holding penalty on the sideline now....Even the ASU fans started laughing at the refs.
 
No conference that I know will tolerate an outburst like that even if there were no cursing! As a coach you can't publicly accuse the refs of cheating even if bad calls were made! He should know better! The SWAC office did right!
 
I think Comegy's point was well stated and it was well received. A suspension and fine that'll pay dividends in the future. (call the game CORRECTLY!!!!) I certainly agree w/ him and see nothing "foul" about what he said and how he said it. Major props. Small price to pay for the larger gain in the near future. :tup:

i agree Uncle Panther. i dont have a problem with the fines or suspension Comegy got.

Since Sharp has now talked about integrity in the SWAC he needs to hold these refs to higher standards and these coaches also need to instill more discipline in these athlethes all across the SWAC as well including JSU. Alot of these flags are coming from lack of discipline.

Dude, typically, you have to cheat the team that is better than you. :rolleyes: See AlaState-JSU game. Also, vs SU, JSU had MORE penalties...and half of the stuff on your team was not called in the second half!
 
I agree with the fine it should have been harsher what is $1000 dollars as a deterrent. The suspension I do not agree with, If the punishment is put on a graduating scale I can not see where the punishment could have been harsher. This has to be the ceiling as far as punishment goes. Sn: I feel without a doubt the swac office knows which crews and officials are the best . I bet you will not see those clown calls tonite on national tv, reason being the A crew will be out there. Hell we as a conference deserve A crews every time out.

What else do you expect from people at jsu? This is how they operate their programs...no professionalism.
Jsu has none, they even have a murderer at QB...this school has no integrity.

until jsu shows itself to be better than what that coach did, what your old president (Mason) did, what your band has done, what your football team has done, and fans. I know where the real Bufoons lay and it most certainly is not near me.

The proof is in the pudding and you guys are knee deep in it...I lost respect for the school of jsu about 15yrs ago. Anything that comes out of those people's mouth...the extent they will go to win, none of it surprises me. smh
