We think we got to get a damn SWAC man to run our programs and then them mofos can only win SWAC games and get kicked to sleep OOC. Now Stump may not be the right man for the job. But to just dismiss all other coaches because of Ron Cooper, Dickerson, Bell or Stump is ridiculous. And lets talk about winning and bringing money to your team. We won under Pete and I ask you where was the money. Wasn't like the man was Roger Cador. I could only imagine how much money we could have brought in had Roger been the football coach and won like Pete did. And who cares about winning 6 games or 2 games. To me that means you were a loser no matter what. It is all about championships and Pete had gotten to the point he couldn't deliver.

It was time. Our board just bungled the search and outside powerful SU alums stopped TC from doing what he wanted. It is plenty of blame to go around. But it shole don't start and end with the AD and Stump. The almighty board had a choice. Hell they could have told the AD to go take a fugging hike and went in a different direction. They have done it before. See Easy, I am closer to SU and what goes on down there than you may think. I lived in H-town for 10 years and know how stuff travels from BR back to the chapter there. I still even pay my dues there. So don't think JR aint following this isht. And you should know that the buck don't stop with Stump and the AD. They will be the scapegoats when it all ends. But that damn board could have prevented this all in the first place. But since TC didn't get his way, he was like fugg it and let the AD hire Stump and then they approved it. They had the power to tell our AD hell nah we aint bringing in your buddy just like they told TC he couldn't bring in Doug. Asberry and Heish were still available on their so-called list. They allowed it to happen. Now the street committee Jags are pissed. Well they need to raise the money up and stop bumping their gums on TSPN about the situation and go give TC and nem a check to buy out Stump and the AD. If they can't do that. We may have more talent than a few teams but not many GR. Now in saying that. I am sure Doug or whomever would have brought in some new talent. But the talent we have are young.


BTW, I don't think we have more talent than TxSU. At least on TxSU's defense versus ours we don't. They have some nice players on that side of the ball.

Dude, you don't know how to separate the smack board from the sports board. Plenty of folks were ready for Pete to roll. Yall were on here saying I was wrong to be saying it. His first extension he got after the 03 and 04 SCG. That's how he got it. Then his second one.......he had just went 8-3. Now you same mofos are saying we did him wrong after last season, are now saying we shouldn't have given him a extension. You can't have it both ways Beans.

JR, I always supported Pete. I was in his corner from day 1 like Easybee. You didnt start to bring up names about replacing Pete until 2 years ago. We had already told you that Pete retired after that extention and look how long ago that's been. It's 2010 JR. 2010. When did Pete get that extention? If he got the first one at the end of 03, then when the next one come?

He got the first one after the 04 season and back to back SCGs. Then he got his last one in 07 after he went 8-3. He lost to A&M, JSU(yall won the SCG that year) and probably some OOC game. He had shown improvement and BLee was just a Soph in 07. So I am sure the powers that be was like let's keep him. That's when you saw me say let's make the change then. It was after that 07 year.

Hell the defense is a shambles so it made TxSU offense look good. That is on the DC, who by the way I think more of problem than Stump is. We gave up more big plays on that stupid blitzing all year than I care to remember.

So now he got the first one "after" 04 instead of 03, right? Ok, then he got the next one in 07 when you all had JC Lewis at QB, House at WR, Lands at LB and a few others? And you all didnt come on here talking about a Championship? JR, you didnt say anything about replacing Pete till after the 08 season. You had the same mind frame back in 07 as you do now. Easy, all the SWAC schools for the most part have over paid their coaches. But the pandora's box is open now. First Pete got paid, then others with Joe Taylor breaking the bank at FAMU. So now folks want to be paid. Pugh makes about 200K at SC State, Broadway making good money at Gram.

Hell even Heish asked for 175K and he had not ever been a head coach. Maybe a cat like Asberry who aint making that kind of money at Shaw would take the job. Or some FBS position coach like Jenkins was at Rutgers. See Easy, those coaches at the middle and lower tier FBS schools don't make what Ron Cooper makes at LSU or what Cal makes at Michigan as the OC. You have to be at those big boy schools to command more than what we pay our head coach. You can go to the MAC, or any other lower tier FBS school and find coaches. That's what BCC did and I am sure they aint paying Jenkins 200K. And some guys just want their chance to be a head coach.

And you mention Cal has a NFL pension. Well so does Doug. A bigger one than Cal. If Cal gets unemployed, you really think he wants to go back to being a position coach at a lower tier FBS school than to take a head job at his alma mater. Seriously. It aint no promise that he will land on his feet at a top notch BCS school if Michigan fires that staff. Cooper had way more cred than Cal has. Cooper had been a D1 Head coach even before A&M hired him and had worked for bigger names than Cal currently works for.

All I am saying you got to ask them cats and see. You can't just say they will not take the job. You put together the best candidate list you can. And you can forget any coach ever coming to SU for under 200K again. We opened up that can of worms a long time ago and now everyone has run with it.
