It starts at the top and trickles down, Thats all I can say. Now I know why their band cuss' like a sailor in their chants.
If he is arguing with a camera man like that, aint no telling what a bandmember would do. (I can only imagine)
Question is: Did he forget he was in Uniform and in Leadership position? (and being filmed) Idiot
Why was he not tending to his band?
He all across the field talking to random Band Heads in a hostile manner :smh:
Feelings must be hurt, AGAIN!

Ronald Mason is going to skin him alive about this video! :scared:

I saw how upset this band director was from in the stands. Oh well.

And I recognize that voice who kept saying, 'know when you've been defeated."

We live in a society where people blow things out of proportion. In the heat of the moment emotions were running high, but over exaggeration is what JSU does best. I can already see where they are trying to take this one.

You're right. The only problem is that this guy is the LEADER and he has to exercise more control as a representative of the university.

I was right there on the field when all of this happened. He was talking to my other cameraman when other people from J state intervened and wanted to start talking trash. I'm more mad at the cowards and yes I said cowards who decided to post it. SU band was kicked out like we are normally done in Jackson. I even got it on tape this year for all the non-believers. They Mr. Jackson that he had to leave and could only play 2 songs. Posting the above was tasteless.

Here you go

I don't have a a dog in this hunt but GUD gonna speak on this one. Dude who made that tape had every intention on provoking this man!! Damn shame the way he was following that man around like that. What he say ? Know when you've been deafeated nooooooooo know when to not post BULSHI*!! Have we gone this far with this rivalry thing. Kinda reminds me of two high school where I'm from Texas City & Galveston in football. Had to stop playing each other for about 4 or 5 years cause it had gotten out of hand during and especially after the game. Wow is all I can say kinda scary. Just .01 cents

Southern's Band Director called us "country" at the battle of bands, now this. The SWAC office should receive a copy of this video, they azz need to be reprimanded!

It ain't that serious and shouldn't go that far.

Now I don't excuse what the director said, but he was provoked a little. Not sure if it's the same director, but he was acting the same way before the game started and SU's band was marching up the ramp. He was down by the ramp (near the field goal post) acting like he wanted to challenge (stepping toward the Boom and throwing up his hands) then. Now I thought that was a little inappropriate as a director; something like that I'd expect from the band members, but not a band director.

I agree and it shows the lack of maturity on the camera man and the threads author. Childish, immature, classless and country.

But this is JSU we're talkin about.

I am friends with someone who marched in JSU's band from 93-95 and even SHE said that JSU took an L on the field and the stands. I wish I could make this up.

Oh well, that settles it then-- one person's opinion makes it facts and truth!

And this has nothing to do with "country." Ya'll seem to love to throw that word around. What was filmed is no different than the usual exchange SU/JSU has. The only difference here is that it's caught on camera, for the whole world to see and a person in a leadership position is shown in a bad light.

And don't act like SU hasn't done some classless things. Don't throw rocks at a glass house, Dude.

Crit when has anyone from SU ever gone up to a JSU band director while he's talking to someone else and provoked them right after the police kicked JSU out of a stadium?

Never seen it done, but that doesn't mean ya'll haven't done other classless things. Come on now. Your director came in the stadium upset. That same behavior was displayed BEFORE the game started, and NOBODY was in his face then. THAT was also classless... to see a band director on the field throwing up his hands and walking toward the Boom, like he was ready to fight. Now that's something I've never seen from a college band director. :xeye:

The country boy that went up to our director is going to be the reason NO ONE will be allowed on the field to record again.

Folk need to know their role and stay in their lanes....

This ain't nothing new.. a country arse jsu idiot just kept pestering him to get this on tape... Worse have been said by other directors especially JSU but just wasn't caught on tape by an opposing member or former member of another band.

That is one of the few things that did sound good from jsu that night.... a good bit of that stuff sound high schoolish.. I am sure dacon, will tell you so...

Dac's word ain't the law. :xeye:

And Boom played PLENTY songs that sounded good, as did SU. I enjoyed both bands in the stands.

Yes, we know all about the police getting involved and the limits on the number of songs after the games. I don't know whether it is a municipal policy or something that JSU does to purposely insense the Jukes. As for the folks that posted the clip ... there will be debate on their taste. With all that said, the BD still failed to represent the university properly. If he felt displaced, he should have directed his comments to Mr. Murray discreetly. In the clip you showed, it does not appear that JPD makes a big deal of it when delivering the decree in public. The BD should have reciprocated the manner.

That's because Jackson State has student arrangers.

It's sad some of the folk on here that marched in better jsu bands are pleased with the garbage these folk are putting out ....

If SU sounded like that, I would be highly pissed...

You are most certainly right. I have but my own opinion.

In the clips that I have heard (since I wasn't there), there were some impressive elements from both bands.

I thought halftime was rather routine on both sides. I will say that it was nice not to see the circle drill and SU was upto its usual drilling standards.

I was impressed by the overall sound of both bands. I still lean toward the Boom's sound signature, but the Jukes are heading toward a better balance.

Kudos to TrumpFunk. It was better than I have heard in years.

Final note to both bands: Get over playing loud. That impresses middle schoolers and bleacher bums. Real musicians know better. As a tuba player I am past sick and tired of hearing bass that sounds like somebody's woofers about to rattle the fenders off the neighborhood hoopdy. Ringing the bell on almost every note you play is COUNTRY and immature.

you don't have a clue son!

:shame: Dayum JState. (no pun on the band).

I don't have a dog in this fight either but that was a bytch move by the camera man. SU director minding his business and dude wanna go fukin wit him. Its easy to say that as a director he should have held restraint but hell, his band was being kicked out of the stadium........then you got a jive as camera man trying to blame it on "defeat". :shame:

I aint mad at him for cussing. How you gon kick somebody out then say they running away. Boy I tell you......

real talk....how many years has it been for JPD to kick the visitor's band out the stadium 1st?? Tbone, c'mon dude, i showed you this last year while we were on the field watchn...

you guys aren't the only band they do this to...but rather the only band that puts up a fight when it happens
