2010 Southern Heritage Classic (JSU vs Tenn. State)


Amazing how both bands played "Before I Let Go" for the drill, but anyway.... Was planning on attending the game, but some stuff came up at the last minute.....However, i saw it on T.V........ Good job, both bands..... I wish they would have showed the dance routines from both bands, but they did show the drills........

IMO.....TSU had more drive and an up beat tempo, and did just a little bit more than JSU, as far as drilling............... The camera angles were horrible, as well as the mic, YOu could not here JSU on the field cause they performed to their side, and the mics were on TSU's side, however, TSU sounded clean and great............

JSU sounded nice in the stands, cause they were sitting on the visitor side which was facing the camera and the mics. TSU sounded great in the stands as well, but was not able to hear them all that well cause the sound was going away from the mics, since they were on the home side..

I look forward from some people that were there to shed some light on the stand battle, the 5th, and all that stuff.........

Damn shame we lost the game, but congrats JSU for finally winning the game, after an 7 year losing streak............

Same as Usual..tn state put folks to sleep while the Boom woke them up. There was a "Power" Battle (song by Kanye West) the Boom took it. It seems like Tn state had bad timing on songs and wasted them during the game trying to play while the ball was in play instead of waiting for a TO or until they scored. But for the most part same o same o, tn state sounded good had some pretty nice arrangements especially that "Unthinkable" and "Night and Day". The Boom had the better book as usual, the 5th was ok nothing spectacular and nothing that really took the crowd and stood out. Panty Droppa and Bump and Grind by the Boom was nice, "Dueces" was straight too.

This by far is the worse TnSU band Ive heard in my life. Good field show and the sound was there on the field, but when TnSU got back in the stands :(
 
I hated both shows.....Boom did the same show as last week but added Turn Off the Lights and a different dance routine...i "think" TnSU did the same show from the previous week as well....but again, Love TKO and a different dance routine was added.....


nothing special about halftime...no fugg ups on JSU side, but the show is just *shrugs*...they need a new show ASAP


In the stands, same thing happened like previous years.....TnSU can not keep up with the Boom, they don't have the stamina for it and it really showed last night
 
Tennessee State's band appeared like a wounded Tiger, trying to get by, out of breathe and unsure of themselves.
The boom put it on those tiggers of tsupoo.
 
Will someone please tell my Boom

  1. Two minutes to get to the fanfare is just way too long.
  2. Screaming through out Before I Let Go is just dumb.
  3. Turn Off The Lights is a smooth R&B tune such that screaming is COMPLETELY out of character.
  4. PLEASE tell the members of the Fantastic Four to stand on the sideline and behave like DMs when they are not in the field formation. THAT was embarrassing.

Otherwise, I thought the Boom as pretty good in that clip.

I noticed that too but I also felt the tempo for "Turn off the lights" was too fast.

Other than the 2 mins to get on the field thing those were pretty much my thoughts watching JSU's show. They sound really good though. And i didn't realize how much the Fantasitc Four dances during a show. I didnt know they spent so much time on the sidelines (dancing). They are pretty much male j-settes.

Thats on the head drum major. They need to stop that mess now..I saw that and was like wow...
 
Reading some comments from the 5th quarter.com, most agreed TSU took the "W" for halftime, while JSU took the "W" for stands and the 5th........

Typical as usual...........I guess.......


Did either band receive house on their dance routine?

Neither band got any kinda house....like i stated, this was by far the most BORING halftime i ever witnessed.....this applies to both bands
 
Some of yall notice with Danny.. If "one" band in particular don't get house..."NO" band got house?

yep, i'm only saying what everyone at that stadium thought....considering that i talked to numerous people from tsu and other schools saying the exact same thing about both bands during halftime....it's given....

I enjoyed the drum majors performance on the sidelines, "they made me wanna shoop ba-doop ba-doop ba-doop"! I see nothing wrong with a little Bump N Grind...

Bruh if you dont like don look at the DMJs again they not dancing for it for the females calm down! And if you got a problem go to Murray (he wont listen to you) but again who are you to even say sumtin about what they do...JSU DM's been dancing for years before I was born!

:clap: some people are still stuck in the past in neutral, things and people change, just look at the music industry.
