This is not news. Some of us privately stated amongst ourselves that the deal w/ SU vs PV in Shreveport will probably be one of the QUIETEST games ever w/ neither band showing up.

I'm fairly certain ticket sales would plummet if news of both not appearing occurred. :read:

Excuse #1 for the 2010 season as to why SUcks can't face the Sonic Boom.

Shots fired!

Self sufficiency is on the way. This is why I was never against what Mason was saying last year at JSU about merger. WE must have a plan in place to counter this. Unless the economy turns around, budget cuts are going to kill HBCUs. 99.9% of our budgets come from state support so they have us by the balls. People can sit around give excuses as to why they don't give back to their universities if they want to but soon, we won't have a university.

...also the people over the classic in Shreveport are not paying for the bands to come? Interesting. I can't believe PV agreed to that deal.

Don't worry son your "daddy" will be there to teach JSU another music lesson for the semester. Trust, if Southern adds any game to its travel itinerary money will come for the beatdown the Jags will give JSU this year. You just make sure that members of the Boom bring their proper study utensils for class for that thorough musical arse beating they're about to receive. :lecture:

And to put the nail in the coffin - don't be surprised if Dr. Jackson allows President Mason to make a guest appearance to conduct SU's band! Bwahhhaaahaaaaa!!!! :lmao:

SU can never put on a more exciting field show when facing JSU. Even if JSU has to put in extra work, we always drag SU at halftime. Try to keep up in the stands. That is the only place you have any credibility when facing the BOOM.

...also, we know ya'll coming to Jackson. Them mofos would walk to Jackson if they had to. :lmao:

...as far as traveling more than JSU, JSU only misses one game a year and that was standard under Mason.

It's way too many lies to even addressed this post...

You're looking @ this like a "classic" and I think PV looked @ this as a "home game moved elsewhere." lol So, I'm sure there wasn't too much, in terms of travel related $$$$, discussed.

We were due to play SU @ some venue, god forbid :retard: :retard: :retard: :retard: :retard: :retard:, in Houston. Front HSA/Reliant 110,000+$ starting or have someone paying you quite a bit to move your home game? I don't work for PV, so if more info is requested, call 936-857-3311 and ask to speak w/ dude that's PV's AD. lol

 @ P88... yes, quiet indeed and tragic. Both bands sitting at home?
Has that ever happened?
If that happens maybe some of the Area high school bands in North LA can play at the SU/PV game.
Maybe play a lil' in the stands and do a halftime show.

Yeah, I thought it was a classic but this would be a "turnaround" trip for the BOOM. You would think that PV would have figured in travel expense for the band when looking to make this move. I still think that the move was a good idea by the way. ....especially for JSU :D

So JSU band travels to PV, TXSU and Bama State? This is no smack, i'm asking a simple question.

As I said, we go to all of our games except one a year. We may have gone to all of our away games last year. So yes, we go to those schools depending on who else is on the schedule. We will probably choose between TxSo and BAMA State game this year. We went to TxSo in 2006 but not 2008. In 2007, we went to all games but AAMU. We typically played BAMA State in Mobile so not sure how we will do that from now on. IN 2008, we were supposed to go to TxSo as we normally do but Mason said something about there would have been nowhere for us to sit.... I didn't buy it but that was his excuse.

During my years, we went to most (though not all) away games. We never went to PV, but we would go when we played TxSo. Missing 1 (2 at most) on average sounds about right.

Not sure what it's like now; I haven't lived in Jackson in six years.

So you saying JSU band only misses ONE game out of their whole schedule each year?

Let the lies begin...

That's not a lie. I can only speak for MY years. And during MY years, we traveled to mostly ALL games. I can't recall many games that we missed during MY years. We never missed traveling to SUck's campus; we never missed traveling to Grambling; of course, never missed Valley and Alcorn; the years we played Alabama during my years were in Chicago ('94) and in Alabama next go around; we didn't play AAMU during my years; of course, we always made the SHC.; we never went to PV; I remember going to TxSo., ; and I remember going to UAPB at least one year. And I remember going to FAMU in '95. So yeah, we made MOST (just about ALL) of the AWAY games during MY YEARS. Dumb arse...

Serious question ... were most of those turnaround trips? Under what circumstances would you all stay in a hotel?

Aren't you a mod? Why the name calling? You should know better.. smh

I agree yall missed PV and TxSU on the reg. so that's 2 for sure yall were missing and probably some of them OOC games as well.. My cousins played in TxSu band and that's has always been a huge complaint about JSU never coming to Houston.... so yall may have made that trip once your 4 years...

But TP break down is clearly NOT about 15 years ago....

And stop the name calling and learn some class...

missing 2 away games is more like it..The Texas games are split between home and away just as the Bama games..so if we are playing one of the Texas games away the other will be at home (so in a given year there want be 2 trips to Texas. Also when they played Bama State in Mobile they usually made that game and AAMU would be the home team so they'd miss 1 away game during those years.
Take last year Away games:
Last year they missed the AAMU game only.
Games that are most likely missed is a Texas game and a Bama game..other than those the Boom is there.
