In the FCS Huddle: 2010 Matchups to Watch

As it stand right now I think the biggest game will be GSU/PV but only because of location. I predict a year where the winner of the Bayou Classic will determine the SWAC Champion. The east is not worth mentioning at this point.

If both teams go into the SFC with undefeated conference records, it will be huge. If both go in undefeated overall, it will really be a big deal.

The PV-SU game has the potential of having a huge attendance number...gotta check the sched to see what/where Gram's playing that weekend, but it could mean GSU fans rolling over to S'port to see what's doing down with these two rivals of ours. Man, this game could turn into a 35-40k crowd real easy if both teams have Division hopes alive and it's promoted heavily with word of mouth and radio airplay.

I'm not gonna say that PV-GSU is really the game to watch. PV should coast through the SWAC this year. If they don't, the coaching simply sucks. We don't know what direction Grambling is headed. A few years ago, JSU won the SWAC, then went 7-5 and then 3-7. GSU has followed in our footsteps 2/3 of the way by winning the SWAC and going 7-4.

As for the EAST not worth mentioning. I would agree there too. However, Comegy only has a losing record to ONE school in this league and that is Grambling. He has the ability to put together a good season and we all know that.

The interesting things in the SWAC this year are going to be (in no particular order):

1. If TxSo can FINALLY get over the hump
2. If Comegy can rebound with the Air Raid offense
3. The direction of GSU football
4. What type of coach Stump is
5. Can Spears take AlaState off life support (BTW, many have been too hard on my frat, Barlow. Working with 30 scholarships will make anyone a loser; ask Valley. He needs 4 more years.)

I don't think any of has any doubt that PV is going to be back to back champions. I also don't think much will be expected of Valley, Alcorn, AlaState, or UAPB. The EAST will obviously come down to JSU-AAMU.

MB,

Even tho the SU folks claim to hate S'port, I can't see them not rolling deep to this game unless they are boycotting Stumpy by them.. I am personally happy that JSU will play PV there the following year because that rivalry is D.O.A. Hopefully, meeting in Shreveport will draw a nice crowd of JSU fans and supporters from Dallas and Jackson and all points in between. Our fans have never had an interest in going to PV and PV fans have never wanted to come to Jackson.

Hell, it just might be working w/ all of the bad news I've been receiving over the last few days. :smh: :(

Wouldn't Gram want to play a PV team @ full strength? :(

I don't care lol as long as we get the win in Dallas lol, we weren't at full strength last season when we played PV.:D

Actually, you are wrong. I have not predicted JSU to win the SWAC but maybe 3 or 4 times in the past decade. I chose *ram last year but I did pick JSU to go to Bham. Of course,I am only going by what's on paper. I fully expect JSU to whoop both *ram and Puke View..our Homecoming bait. But I always base my predictions on fact...and like it or not, I am rarely wrong. Check my past predictions.

Rarely wrong my azz! LMAO You predict JSU to beat Grambling every year and look at the outcome. If you base your predictions on fact you will never predict JSU to beat Grambling. If i were you, i would take it one game at a time bruh.:emlaugh::emlaugh:

TP, focus on a back to back ACC championship as Bellism seems to still be plaguing you.

Fraizer still knows big bad Grambling is the team to beat.

I don't see *ram as any more of a threat than TxSo to the West Crown.

USATODAY,

JSU has had the better team on paper than Grambling many of the times they have faced each other but just as less impressive SU teams would outcoach us in the late 90's, Gram has outcoached us (or cheated us) lately.

We were better in 2006 but we lost due to the D2 defense that we used to run. You would not have wanted to see us again that year.

We were better in 2007 but our DC decided to come with a whole new defense vs Grambling and that plan didn't work. He went back to our base defense in Bham and beat yo azz.

In 2008, we were def better than *ram in the first game but ya'll cheated. I will give you the SCG 2008 because we were simply outcoached and I predicted a Grambling win.

In 2009, I think the squads were about even but JSU should have been the team to beat last year. We failed miserably. Grambling was more mentally prepared and we gave you easy points.

For these reasons, I have no reason to think *ram can beat JSU.

Way back in 2007. They beat YO azz in 2009! :lmao:

I believe time moves along and can't stay stuck in 2007, it's inevitable that time moves on. Dude Jackson State has been running from PV since the beat yall in your own rented stadium LMAO. When you run from a team in your own conference it's easy to say what u just said.:noidea:

Should be named the Jackson State Blue Puss-es.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
