Should Obama fire McChrystal

It is called being smart.. Come on RB, you can give your prez a little credit.

Credit for what!? All Obama did was complicate things, and the same nasty stuff he said about General Petraeus was said about him, by a General he appointed, trusted, and voted for him........that's terrible. The Pentagon is not happy with the Obama administration, and he's making enemies with his own military.......that's stupid. This all started when Obama refused to grant General MAC the 40,000 troops he requested. Oh, and don't forget Eric Holder is trying to throw Navy Seals in prison for punching a terroist that murdered Americans.......dumb schit.

HUMAN EVENTS Petition To Free the SEALs
by Human Events
Hon. Robert M. Gates
Secretary of Defense
The Pentagon
Washington, DC

Dear Secretary Gates:

We, the editors and staff of HUMAN EVENTS, and the many Americans who have attached their signatures to this petition, hereby request your personal intervention to dismiss the charges against Navy SEAL operators SO2 Jonathan Keefe, SO1 Julio Huertas and SO2 Matthew McCabe.

These three men are charged with abusing a terrorist they captured in a daring nighttime raid on or about 1 September 2009. On that night, they -- as part of a platoon from SEAL Team 10 -- captured and detained Ahmed Hashim Abed, one of the most barbaric and dangerous terrorists in Iraq. The terrorist -- in a move that is literally right out of the al-Queda training manual -- complained of abuse, apparently alleging he was struck in the stomach.

 Aren't you the one that said he wasn't strong enough to beat Hillary and after he did he wouldn't beat McCain becaue he wasn't tough enough and after he did some big scandel was going to araise to bring him down?

Still haven't figured out you don't know what you're talking about huh?
:lol::lol::lol:
Yes I am and I am glad someone in the whitehouse grew some balls. This is not the first time for this general - he let it slide before, which he should not have, but he finally took care of business.

.....and your statement has nothing to do with the dumb schit Obama is doing to his military. What president would take the side of a terrorist over his own military troops? Obama does all he can to make sure a terrorists has rights, a lawyer, and even tried in a civilian court at the high expense of the taxpayers, but when it comes to our own military, he schits on them and leave them hanging. This is the same man that said our military was raiding villages, murdering innocent arabs, and raping their women. This same President made all kinds of ignorant remarks about General Patraeus publicly, and now calls on him to save his azz.........hypocrite.

Dude we all know that some of our soldiers have abused their powers over there. They are being tough on them to show the Iraqis and Afghans that America is a nation that has principles and will not allow people to come in and throw them around like ragdolls. Remember, Iraq and Afghanistan will never be over until we get their natives to buy into trusting us. Remember, Al Quaida has a strong foothold over there, and using every bit of ammo to try and get those people to distrust us. Having soldiers going overboard doesn't help the situation.

Overboard!? Punching a murdering terrorist in the stomach is overboard!? Since when did General Petraeus abuse his power?

I wasn't talking about General Patraeus, but he should make sure that his troops do not do things like that because it just gives the enemy more street cred over there. Plus it is not the American way to torture anyone(Prisoners of War) you don't want to leave any room for these guys to escape charges because someone took things too far. What did punching him in the stomach do? It is not the American way, we cannot go over there and just compromise our values, when that happens, the terrorists win.

I understand it is tough over there because the enemy blends in perfectly with the civilians, but when we went over there, nobody said it was going to be easy. Wait..........

I think you are sadly mistaken about the American way for our troops. It's very American to do what that sailor did. There is no switch that soldiers can turn on and off in the heat of the battle due to anxiety and emotions. Our military is trained to kill and bring peace by fire and fear. In other words, "speak softly, but carry a big stick." The "only" words our military will listen to from the enemy is "I surrender". If we have to go in there and beat that azz it's a different story........It's like your mother/father saying don't make me come in there and get you.

I understand what you're saying and all, but the military is a different beast.

....and he was replaced by a General that's totally against the Obama administration. Does that make sense, or is that stupid?

Blue, its one thing I have to agree with you. Out of all the people to replace McChrystal, why would Obama pick Petraeus? Also, some say this position might be a step down for Petraeus since he served as Commanding General of Multi National Force-Iraq and he may have had some interest in running for the presidency. So why would Petraeus want the job? I am not ready to go as far as saying the Pentagon is not behind the Obama administration but this is some freaky stuff going on. I think it is more to this than a person running off at the mouth.

Man,

as a vet whose worked hand-in-hand supporting some of those SEAL operators they're referencing, I've got to disagree with you on what this soldier is 'supposed' to do.

These guys are NOT supposed to operate on 'emotion'. They are trained to be as analytical and emotionless as a soldier can get in order to pull off the types of jobs that they're tasked to accomplish. In other words, they ARE trained to turn it on and off like a switch because the missions they perform are dependant on it. They have directives they need to follow, just like regular soldiers do. There are consequences for NOT following those directives.

If the SEAL operator did something like that, he needs to be disciplined for it.

As far asMcCHrystal is concerned, it was overdue...

Insubordination is insubordination...He was told multiple times by the oval office to shut the eff up. He called the bluff, so he's paying the consequences...He lucky he didn't get court-martialed.

This is comical because if this were Dubyuh, folks would be talking about how insubordinate this cat was and how his insubordination would be disrupting the war effort... :shame:

Yes, it was a step down for General Pat, but some think he did it to run in 2012.

When did our military train soldiers to be emotionless? I don't know about you, but the training I received was about discipline and love for my brothers.

How can you disagree with a SEAL punching a terrorist that murdered innocent American civilians? Should the SEALS have killed the murdering terrorist?

Were you a SEAL?

What if the terrorist wasn't a terrorist? Once again it is all about perception in Afghanistan, the terrorists want to paint America as evil and corrupt to the citizens, charging in beating suspects after everything is under control will do nothing but help feed their claims.

I dunno what military you were a part of, but 'emotion' don't have a dayumn thing to do with the decision-making those troops make out there. The discipline that goes into training these guys for combat emphasizes making intgelligent decisions and thinking in new ways in order to get missions accomplished effectively, and to get back home with as little casualty impact as possible.

In the case of the SEALS, those guys HAVE to put emotion to the side in order to complete the types of missions they go on. It's the same thing for ANY type of SPecial Operations unit. Those folks ability to think cooly and logically in combat situations get them home safe, not 'emotion'.

BTW, Discipline and 'emotion' don't go hand in hand...If you've gone through ANY type of rudimentary military training, you should know that.

What does punching dude in the stomach have to do with the orders that particular soldier recieved? Was punching the guy in the stomach an active part of his mission directive? the last time I checked, discerning something like that that was at the discretion of the soldier's CO. Evidently HE thought something was wrong with the treatment, otherwise the Petty Officer wouldn't be standing before the man, facing a court martial.

I don't think you fully understand the word "emotion" because you would know the military train with it at all times. In fact, they push emotions to the limit in boot camp............and that's military 101.

Which of the following emotions don't our military train with?
