yes, your'e right...it's not just a black community problem, but it is a problem within the black community, and yes we definitely don't discuss/address it like we should.

This part of the reason I pray over my son EVERYDAY when he's not in presence and why I started him saying his own prayers when he turned 3. I want him to know the name of Jesus now. I'm always keeping him covered in the blood and asking God's protection, especially when he's at school and afterschool care. People are sick.

I have never understood this logic. Its disturbing all of the people who have suffered because family didn't want to correctly address a sex offender who happens to be family.

It upsets me when us blacks sweep the molestation issue under the rug and then wonder why problems occur later in life with that person who was molested. Its nothing but a cycle of abuse....

Pedophiles thrive on us sweeping this issue under the rug and continue to molest children...when will we realize this? its sad...

Tru, I am willing to bet a dime to a dollar, this was not the reason as to why it may have destroyed any of her relationships with men, chances are MoNique has not told many of them about what had happen to her because of the quilt and shame that the victims of such a situation may endure. If anything Mo'Nique (may have) messed up a relationship or two due to her lack of trust, and/or self worth because of what she has endured! You have to realized that Mo'Nique was not only betrayed by her brother but also by her parents in the manner in which they handled the sitauation, in letting the brother back into the house after only 2 or 3 weeks, in a child's eyes that saids that you hold some of the blame for what happen to you! I believe Mo'Nique has now turned on her family because after having her babies she now has put it all together that none of what happen to her was of her fault and realized that her parent did not do enough to protect her! The only way for this family to heal is through therapy individually and as a group!
