No other SWAC school signed anyone. OK, we will take that trophy now.

the Basketball Gods want Texas Southern to win."

You do realize the length of the signing period, right? Runs from Apr. 14 through May 19. It is not a "national signing day" though even in football, you can sign from Feb. 3 through Apr. 1 - though most sign on the first day in the sport.

According to the Monroe News Star, Southern's women is supposed to get Carroll guard Janae Fountain. She's supposed to play basketball and run track.

Richwood's Marceis Davis and LaDarrin Williams singed to play for coach Spivery. A third Richwood kid, Jamal Dial, could transfer to Southern after playing two years at BRCC...that's what the coach Terry Martin said.

He would have been a much better coach and recruiter than Spivery:lecture:

His son along with Storm Warren wouldn't be across town!

When Baton Rouge Community College started its basketball programs a year ago, among its goals were to give Louisiana players a place to play and to give the state’s four-year colleges an in-state source for junior college transfers.

In the last two days, BRCC’s men’s program has accomplished a little of both.

The day after announcing the signing of four in-state players, BRCC had two players off its first team sign with Southwestern Athletic Conference schools.

Arsenio Francis, a 6-foot-4 forward from Lafayette, signed with Southern while Joshua Upchurch, a 6-9, 260-pound BRCC center from Ferriday, signed with Grambling.

The pair, who both transferred to BRCC from Lee (Texas) Junior College after their freshman seasons, are the first two Bears to sign Division I scholarships.

“We’re excited,†BRCC coach Todd Foster said. “We’re excited for Arsenio and Joshua.â€

Francis is one of three signings announced by Southern on Friday. The Jaguars also signed Marceis Davis, a 6-4 forward/guard out of Richwood High in Monroe and Lloyd Hickerson, a 6-6 forward from Western Nebraska Community College.

To bad we couldn't get the Tugler twins from Carroll too.

I hope SU is heavily recruiting Tina Roy from Kaplan High School. I think she has 1 more year left. That girl is a baller. She is tough and score from anywhere on the court. That is type of player we need.
