yes, love it too...Terry Crews is starring in Ice Cube's new show, coming in June. "Are We There Yet"...it's a sitcom on TBS.

Cool! I know he mentioned that he would be working with Ice Cube and be gone for six months. I hope he and his wife do well in their careers.

:tdown:no dramas only "reality" shows. Not good.

Black dramas don't sell well.

Soul Food set the record with 74 episodes.

You have 2 factors of folks on black dramas-

1) That the drama should be Boys in The Hood, Menace 2 Society or New Jack City.

2) Just a normal series about a black family in the hood or not.-Lincoln Park might be the best version.

James Earl Jones had 2 dramas on CBS and the latter one Under One Roof should have lasted longer than 6 shows.

And the sad thing is cable has done a better job than broadcast.

Its being used as a platform to jumpstart some careers.

Jump start them to where?

Some of these folks already had careers. Now Ray J needs it to get that bad taste of For the Love of Ray J and that tape out of folks minds. Brandy-I can understand her doing it.

Nothing is wrong doing a few indy films or being the token black on a white show (Denzel on St. Elsewhere?). Doing black only projects can get you a long resume but who is really noticing you? Lisaraye should be further ahead in her career as well.

Or chasing after a role like Zoey did for Avatar and now she has a big role on in the upcoming DC Comics film-The Losers.

Are We There the series-should do fine.

I would love for these folks to get together and do a series of films. That air (edited) on tv (NOT BET-I think you reach more folks outside of that channel) and release the DVD the follwing Tuesday liek Syfy does with many of thier films.

I dont think they last because the networks won't give them a change. Under One Roof was a damn! good show. I think it had ratings. But the wire and Soulfood are two examples that show that black dramas can make it. I am definitely a fan of Lincoln Heights which started on ABC Family and has been cancelled.

So where is TVone and BET to get that 5th season. Right now 43 episodes is not enough for a long syndication run. They need 65. Heck where is TBS?

House of Payne
Meet The Browns
Are There Yet
Lincoln Heights

Would makes an interesting Wednesday Night line up.

Another show being shopped around-

The Head of TVOne was on TJMS last week and Cybil asked about them picking up Lincoln Heights and he said that the public needs to send emails and let them know that they want this to happen. I signed a petition http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/savelincolnheights/

Is Lincoln Heights that good? I always change the channel to the news or the Mo'Nique Show when it comes on.
