Is it even possible. We have been discussing this in class for about two months now but no one believes that it is possible. We are allowing private companies and their lobbyist to control policy making.
It's prophecy son! You're correct, there is no way to stop it. It has to run its course and we inevitably, we will have to destroy ourselves from within!
I have another question, since the recent rulings by the Supreme Court have affirmed that we corporations can be treated as individuals when it comes to campaign contributions, can that logic apply to other arenas as well. Can corporations be charged with negligent homicide when they are responsible for preventable deaths.

Those who lead those corporations can be and should be held accountable if there action or in-actions lead to bodily harm or death. There is precendent for this course of action.
civil damages but not criminal charges.
So, I take that you are okay with what Toyota just did with their brake problems or what just happened at this coal mine in West Virginia. If you routinely ignored something that could be fatal around your house and someone died, you could be charged with negligent homicide.this is absolutely amazing. why do you people want a bunch of idiots in government that don't know their a55 from a hole in the ground other than staying in office and pushing their socio-political agendas, making policy REGULATING BUSINESS/PRIVATE SECTOR?! this is just incredible. this can't be serious. it's got to be a setup just to stir conversation.

Reasonable regulations with minimal government most logical people can agree on. So I take it that you are ok with the NEXT administration, which may be republican sooner or later(unless we are no longer a representative democracy), controlling business/companies/private sector. WHAT THEN?! I take it, if you own/run a business, YOU believe that somebody in Washington knows more about running your business than you do and knows what's best for you.
Reasonable Regulations is something we don't currently have. No, I don't want govt running the private sector but I don't want private sector running the govt, like we have now. Tell me, do you think it is okay for Private Companies to be able to have laws tweaked to benefit them, even though it hurts the general public. It is okay for companies to knowingly and willingly risk lives to increase their bottom line like Toyota just did or have the USDA scared to tell us the truth about Beef products that might be harmful.
How can you say reasonable regulations is something we don't have currently when you look at everything, every product around you that works just fine and is not a danger to all but a complete imbecile? Are you telling me that products are safer in India? China? Russia? Indonesia? Brazil? are you telling me that you can sew a company in china blind, AND WIN, for selling you something harmful like you can in the U.S. right now? The private sector is YOU and the people put the government in place for basic functions, not to micro-manage every aspect of life. If a private company is dumb enough to constantly make something that hurts the general public in this day and age of mass 24 hour youtube/twitter/TSPN etc media, they will be out of business unless they build a safe product. the USDA is a government agency. I thought you wanted the government to tell us what to do.
