Obama to back Atlantic, Gulf drilling

^^^

Yep...all it accomplishes is more profit for companies that go ahead and drill. The whole "drill baby drill" mess was just campaign hype for fools.

I got to see firsthand how natural gas is literally just held in the pipes until its worth more.

By energy crisis you mean just our dependence on foreign oil.

No, it means there's a limited supply of crude oil. David Bronner, the head of the AL Retirement System stated that if the Israelis took out the Iranian nuclear facilities the price of a barrel of crude would go over $300. This would facilitate the collapse of the global economic system. I personally believe the increase cost of oil in 2007/8 started the current global economic recession.

This is another double-edged sword.....

On one hand, it won't drop the price of fuel. In my line of work, Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel is recommended and must be used in semi models 2007 and up. The issue is, because of the EPA/Tree Huggers, we have to export that to China, because we currently have no facility here in the States that can do the conversion, thus making that type of diesel much more expensive to make.

On the other hand (and a few of you might be right)......

Maybe Obama is doing this to garner support for a 2012 re-election, but who really knows. It makes him look hypocritical being that the McCain/Palin (fail) ticket was for drilling.

What about the ANWAR section? The one that Jimmy Carter put a cap on years ago? Why can't we use that? Again....the Tree-Huggers. They gotta realize that we're the number one beings on Earth, and animals know how to survive. They detect danger way before we can see it coming, and we're advanced enough to protect them and with the technology to retrieve it.

I blame Big Oil for all of this. Why? Who do you think killed the GM EV-1 back in the 90's? We wouldn't have this issue if that technology was put out to us more. Good thing Nissan is releasing the Leaf in December. Maybe it can help us with energy independance, then again, maybe not. But its' a shot.

You really don't get it bruh. Israel attacking Iran wouldn't cause a shortage in oil. You ever wonder why oil prices magically shot up during the Bush years? They shot up way before this recession. The Oil/Energy industry is the most corrupt industries there is. Damn the Finance/Banking industry. It pales in comparison. Please do some reading how companies manipulate oil prices and oil futures. That is a complete scam. Can't believe you fall for that fear mongering.

Do me a favor....google "Who Killed the Electric Car?" and "General Motors EV1". Look at the cast of characters who played a role. They are going to look familiar.

No, you don't get it. An attack on Iran would stop the exportation of oil from the Persian Gulf. It would inflame the SW Asia region. If you don't believe this wouldn't affect the price of oil, then you are living in another world.

I agree that the speculation my the oil industry was the cause of the past spike in prices. Big oil pocketed billions and took the money from consumers which triggered the current recession. I'm not a friend of big oil.
