Can we save America?

If the majority of the population claim to be of the Christian faith
....and you feel if the word Christian is used, the person is lying.

Absolutely, because many individuals use the word Christian very loosely, not realizing Christianity has standards and principles. To include members of the Klan, that hung hundreds of Blacks and Jews, but they hung in the name of Christianity. There were hundreds of Slave owners that hung, raped, disfigured, sold blacks and some whites, but they swore before God in Heaven they were Christians and had the right to do as they please with human lives.

In today’s society, individuals that call themselves Christians, practice genocide in various forms, but they call themselves Christians. There were and perhaps still is “Missionaries†that visit undeveloped countries “Preaching the Gospel of Jesus†however, they are vaccinating locals with experimental drugs (AIDS), but they are “Christians†Everything, is in the name of Christ / Christanity - sure it is!!!!!

Most recently, those individuals that was caught in Haiti attempting to “Smuggle†those children without proper documentation were in the process of selling those kids the highest bidder and only God knows what would have happen to those kids, but they were “Christiansâ€
Dudes give me a freaking break there at millions of individuals and organizations that hide behind the name of Christianity. And you are so “Stupid†yes stupid, to believe anyone that uses the name of Christ or Christianity, is a Christian.

It's no different than black folks calling Jackson State a black college. It doesn't mean every student is black. Does it not?

And this is what individuals have been attempting to make you understand everyone that proclaims to be a Christian or use the terminology is not a Christian or understand Christianity. And you are one of those individuals.
Claiming to be something and practicing what you claim is to different things. How do I know this, this is my Sunday School Lesson for Sunday [Perhaps You Should Attend, you will learn something]

James 1: 19-21 stress the importance of listening to the Word, verses 22-25 emphasize the necessity of putting the Word into practice and applying it.

Based on your analogy and examples, all I have to do is setup an organization and used the word Christian, therefore I must be a Christian and a “God fearing†person. So I guess Justice,Thomas is a "Christian" although he lied under oath concerning his relationship with Anita Hill - please explain.

And do not hand me this bull crap, about Christians making mistakes. He intentionally lied, after placing his hand on God's word "swearing to tell the truth"

See you cannot impress or fool me, with the posting of scriptures and misinterpretation of the word. Take this for what it’s worth, you fit into that group that Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 4, having a spiritually blinded mind. You really do not believe, because you continue to twist the word of God, you sound like the Old Slave owners and Klansman and those that pervert the word, to make it fit their agenda.

Now answer the other questions!

I did not call slavery a blessing. Is not your job a blessing? Is not the money in your bank account a blessing? Is not the protection from our troops a blessing? Is not your degree a blessing? Look at where you are in life and tell me you don't live in the most blessed nation on earth. Look how far our people have come and tell me you don't live in a blessed land. Look around and observe those who do not have a formal education, but work hard, hustle, serve Christ, and are prosperous.

Material things from ill-gotten gains are not blessings and the bible clearly states this.

Naw... RB I am talking about the foundation of this country being built off of the backs of SLAVE....

Americans back then and still today view that as a "BLESSING"...

Doggone RB

The only thing you continue to focus on is material wealth as a blessing. However, if you read and understand that bible “as you say you doâ€￾ the same you mentioned can also be a curse and to be all that you mention is a curse on this country. Because, you like others has placed this country above others, thinking the US “dungâ€￾ don’t stink. And because we enjoy certain freedoms, God has placed his blessings on this country. Lk. 14:15-24

Have you forgotten there are other countries that enjoy the same freedoms? You have not mentioned them. Sometimes [as you have demonstrated] we become so engrossed in material wealth we miss the meaning and the intent of God.

This country is under a curse and you are so spiritually blinded that you cannot / fail to recognize it.

Read about Youn Rich Ruler; the Rich Man and the man that had all the barns, they had it all [material wealth] but they missed the message.

The destruction of ourselves. The system is broken and may be unfixable. Will America be a superpower in a century? Will we still have a democracy?

I may be taking the easy way out on this one, but NOTHING in this world was intended to last forever. Everything has a start date and a finish date. And I think the US goverment as we know it, is getting closer to it's end.

The real truth is, the only people that are convienced that America is a superpower is Americans. The rest of the world sees us as crackheads who've been able to maintain it's habit....

Correct..
With a great big credit card and a bunch of worthless dollars we are circulating amongst ourselves that no one put us will take at face value...

We don't even take it for face value any more.....look at what 100 dollars could do 10, 20, and 30 years ago....we've been trying to self medicate for while now, the other countries know it, it's us who've been fooling ourselves as if everything is ok...

I never understood how America could be facing all these problems when it comes to employment, education and the economy and our local, state and federal government officials still continue their arrogant cavalier ways.

This is because of a scam called credit and the federal reserve creating false hope by printing money with nothing to back it...

Ouch! you said it.

All one has to do is look at the governments of the OT and NT (Greece and Rome) - eventually, God got tired of their stupidity and foolishnes and put an end to their government and way of life.

God has been trying to tell this country something for years, but being hardheaded and not listenting - God is fed up with this country. And Obama maybe the last chance - 9-11 happen for no reason "Hello America" wakeup and smell the coffee.

Can we save America?

The answer is no, because this country has set sail to a course of destruction and it boils down to one word "Greed"

It's call self destruction

I'm simply looking at the facts. The facts are that a majority of the US population publicly claim the Christian faith. The facts are a very young US rules the world with a small population of 350 million compared to nations that have been established for thousands of years. How does that happen "without" the blessings of God? Do we bless ourselves? Some people have a very hard time looking at the facts, and acknowledging our pledge that America is one nation "under" God. They have a hard time acknowledging that politicians are sworn into office on the "Christian" bible, and no other religious book. Why do we do these things if we are not a Christian nation? Why is it that Christianity is all over the US Capitol, Supreme Court, and other government buildings if we are not a Christian nation? Did these things happen by chance? No! The majority of our population publicly claim to serve Christ, and it's evident if people would compare what our nation has to what other nations have around the world. Hell, just look at Mexico across the border. You can clearly see where the blessings stop. My point is I know what I see and live everyday, and its a blessing to live in the most blessed nation known to earth.

I'll stop beating this dead horse and leave you with my original comment. To have a Christian nation, would mean to have laws that govern all under Christian Law. I don't disagree that we live in the world's strongest military nation and that all men have more freedom and opportunity in the US, but those opportunities are afforded to all men than most other countries, and regardless if they practice Christanity. There is no such thing as a true Christian Nation in terms of a country that has designated their land, laws and citizens as such and have a standard practice of Christian ways or suffer a consequence for violation of said laws. In a sense that would be hypocritcal to the ways of Chritianity

Now to answer the topic, America will always be what it is-both great nation and bad nation-because of capitalism (please don't take me as a commy or socialist either) There will always be a wealthy class and a poor class. Middle class is a term that's basically made up by the upper class to make person under them push to attain more material wealth than those that live in severe poverty (divide and conquer). Every morning accross this country, millions get up and take their (self included) commute to give their pain and sweat so that a few individuals truly reap the majority benefits. As long as those persons continue to lead this country with underhanded tactics just so they can keep their material gains then we will continue to sink. This country has invested as much if not more into the penal system than it has in the education. And the money used for education is used to continue the cycle of capitalism. Our infrastructure has been ignored for years. I mean people fell into the river because of a decaying bridge. I think the problems can be solve, the question is do the real powers that be care enough to solve them.

We will always be at odds over this subject.....

When did the entire Union participate in slavery? I have never read this. If America was so evil, then why would they free slaves? The history books state there was a "DIVISION" between the North and South. The foolish and evil methods of the South were not the methods of the North. How can you place blame on America for freeing the negro, and killing their own kinfolk to do so?

I can't attend your church because it's not a Christian church based on your logic......remember.

lol... RB I know you are a smart man... but some of this stuff is a bit niave for you to be saying brah..

Ima make this simple
Civil WAR .... NORTH against SOUTH....
Slavary mainly accured and made economic sense in the South...
The North didn't too much make money off of slavery...

President Abe knew that freeing slaves in the South would generate more money for the government..

Slaves did not pay taxes..... But if Slaves became free men than they would add to the tax pool.....

Of course the SOuth racist and slave owners didn't care about the betterment of the whole nation.. which is why they still to this day would rather be seperate from the north and live the way they used to...(but we know we ain't going back to them days)....

This nation did not free slaves because they care for black people.... it was done for $$$$...

The Private bankers wanted an interest in America back then... and that was something they knew America would have to do away with for them to make money off of America....

The story goers deeper than this....

But don't think this country just not as evil as people think which is why the freed slaves....

If this country wasn't EVIL we would have never had slavery from to began with...

This is the MAIN reason I never cared for the Republican party... Only thing I liked from them was the idea of "no big government"... that about it...

Poor RB, he accounts the wealth of this nation based on blessings. He fails to mention HOW the wealth of this nation was accrued. Let me refresh his memory a bit.....making billions off the backs of 20 million plus Black slaves who worked 18 hour days for free; killing native Americans and taking their land for free; killing his own brother with guns; attacking innocent nations and stealing their wealth; disrupting governments worldwide and placing puppet governments loyal to it's own in power;

I could go on and on, but just wanted to show that if "god" used these kind of ways to "bless" this nation, what kind of "god" is he worshipping that would sanction slavery, genocide on innocent women and babies, death and rape, pillaging, stealing, lying, thievery, etc. RB, you just don't know how you make "your" "god" look by what you've said.
If that's your "god" RB, I want no parts of him/her.

Hold up Jay, RB is only about 5 steps off so cut him some slack. Let's not act like slavery only stared in America. EVERY great country was built and maintained off the backs of it's slaves. And not only did God allow it to happen, He actually approved of it when love and fairness was used as the governor of it's disipline and reform.

Now the blessing comes from the fact that God has given us chance after chance to repent and attempt to fix the pollutants man has allowed to corrupt with greed. The blessing is that the country was still allowed to prosper inspite of it's evil hearts. The blessing is that the asendants of these mistreated slaves even have life because the original blueprint of slavery said to kill off the entire slave population once their work is complete.....

Now you might not have seen the blessing before, but for real for real, all of My God's (who ever you claim him to be or not) mercies are a blessing in my book.

And I ain't mad at cha RBlue, but you might wanna stick to the prayer board when you talk politics, we can tolerate you better....

Apaquelypse, like RB, you're five steps off too. Tell me if this nation would be as great as is without the Mexican Cession, the Louisiana Territory, the Oregon Territory, without slaves (treated worse than any known slaves in human history), killing off native Americans for no reason, treating women as third class citizens, rating minorities as less than human, using religion to deceive and trick natives into trusting them only to stab them in the back.

It truly amazes how some religious folks choose to justify the riches this nation has by placing god's hand in it instead of looking at the roots of this ill-gotten gain for what it truly is.
Fact of the matter is, if this nation would've acquired the land honestly, without slaves, without treachery, rape, thievery, lies and deception, they have nowhere near the riches they have today.

off huh? But I'm not the one suggesting that the US began it's origin with the constitution or the declaration of independance.....

when was the Last time you read the mayflower compact? I know you like history...and it will "amaze" you....

SUtrp96, I think you're wrong on this one. Abe Lincoln clearly explained his thoughts on slavery in his "Second Inaugural Address". His thoughts are totally different from your opinions of him, and his thoughts on slavery.

Dude I am not sure where you studied your history.

But I recall New Hampshire; Vermont; Rhode Island; Connecticut; New York; Commonwealth of Massachusetts and one more being Northern Slave States. I know because I would always miss this question on my history test.

We will always be at odds on what?

I can't attend your church because it's not a Christian church based on your logic......remember.

Now isn’t that a [***], you have been there before, have you not. No the purpose of you not attending, is because you are afraid that you might learn something. If you are the “Christian’ you say you are why not attend and teach us what we don’t know.

My point to you is the usage of the word Christian, nothing more nothing less. And you cannot stomach someone like me being direct to the point, there like a coward; you tuck your tail between your legs and run.

So did Thomas lie or not under oath.

If America was so evil, then why would they free slaves?

Did America free the slaves because it was the "right thing to do" If this was such a Christian country, why was slavery allowed in the beginning, they have often used the bible to support their reasoning? However, there are no scriptures in the bible that support human slavery.

Lincoln signed a law prohibiting slavery in the District of Columbia. Slave owners were forced to free their slaves, but were paid an average of about $300 for each slave by the government. Washington, DC

Lincoln on Slavery & Emancipation

We know that some Southern men do free their slaves, go North and become tip-top abolitionists, while some Northern Men go South and become most cruel masters.

When Southern people tell us that they are no more responsible for the origin of slavery than we are, I acknowledge the fact. When it is said the institution exists, and it is very difficult to get rid of in any satisfactory way, I can understand and appreciate the saying. I surely will not blame them for not doing what I should not know what to do as to the existing institution. My first impulse would possibly be to free all slaves and send them to Liberia to their own native land. But a moment's reflection would convince me that this would not be best for them. If they were all landed there in a day they would all perish in the next ten days, and there is not surplus money enough to carry them there in many times ten days. What then? Free them all and keep them among us as underlings. Is it quite certain that this would alter their conditions? Free them and make them politically and socially our equals? My own feelings will not admit of this, and if mine would, we well know that those of the great mass of whites will not. We cannot make them our equals. A system of gradual emancipation might well be adopted, and I will not undertake to judge our Southern friends for tardiness in this matter.

I acknowledge the constitutional rights of the States — not grudgingly, but fairly and fully, and I will give them any legislation for reclaiming their fugitive slaves.

The point the Republican party wanted to stress was to oppose making slave States out of the newly acquired territory, not abolishing slavery as it then existed.

I have no purpose directly or indirectly to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.

Lincoln in speeches at Peoria, Illinois

Lincoln on Racial Equality:

I am not now, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social or political equality of the white and black races. I am not now nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor of intermarriages with white people. There is a physical difference between the white and the black races which will forever forbid the two races living together on social or political equality. There must be a position of superior and inferior, and I am in favor of assigning the superior position to the white man.

Lincoln in his speech to Charleston, Illinois, 1858

Note; Underling is defined as a subordinate person: a servant or subordinate, especially one regarded as of little worth or importance

RB

Perhaps, the Northern States did not behave as the Southern States. However. they were just as guilty as being slave owners themselves, they owned the ships, purchased and sold the slaves, raped the women and sold children.

The first State to legislate in favor of the slave trade was Massachusetts [Nothern State].

The Northern States, were like two children stealing from a cookie jar, both were stealing, but the one caught was the one with the crumbs around his mouth.

Abe Lincoln, who AMERICA calls one of the greatest presidents
Didn't believe blacks were equal to whites and that whites were the superior..

And you RB think GOD is blessing us?

Wake up for a sec.

I know drug dealers that are driving Bentlys, living in half million dollar houses.... Don't work... just on a life time vacation... according to you, GOD is blessing them....

Dr.H, no doubt the Northern states profitted EARLY off of slavery.... but once they sold all they cam sell to the South.. I honestly think them Northern States were a bit jealous of the South because they had an on going money chain with slaves..

I personally believe the Southeners knew the Northerners in todays terms.. were hating..

The Slaves belonged to the SOutherners and only profitted the Southerners... The Northern States felt like they had to disrupt that and get the slaves to start profitting them as well through taxes....

The South wasn't trying to hear that...

But all in all.. these decisions and deals were being made about our people like we weren't SHYT and for RB to think this Country love for our people is the reason Slavery ended is just STUPID.... only a kid who first week in history class would ever think that dumb shyt..

In the words of RB's mentor

He speculated that blackness might come "from the colour of the blood." Absurdly, he suggested that blacks might breed with the "Oran-ootan."

Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia (1787)

Haiti was Jefferson's-and the South's-worst nightmare. Immediately after his election, Jefferson withdrew all American diplomatic personnel from Haiti. Any chance of diplomatic recognition was over. Then, with "implacable malice" toward the black republic, Jefferson did everything in his power to undermine the Haitian Revolution, including banning trade with the island and offering to aid the French in re-conquering the island. In 1806 Congressman John Wayles Eppes, Jefferson's son-in-law, declared he would "pledge the Treasury of the United States that the Negro government should be destroyed." On this issue Eppes was clearly the spokesman for his father-in-law, the President. Once in office Jefferson instituted an embargo against Haiti, which was designed to crush the young nation's economy. While not wholly successful, Jefferson's actions surely harmed the struggling country.

I could be wrong, but wasnt the issue with Pharoh about how he worked the children of Isreal and didnt allow them the Holy Day off? From what ive read about slaves and servants in the bible, it was only bad because of abuse and misuse, but ive ive never read a thing that opposed slavery...

There is a lot more to this story Dr.......at that time Haiti was #1 in the world in exporting Coco, sugar and indigo....If we continuted to aid them, we would have been the struggling country. We helped them overthrow the french in order to expand the Louisiana Purchase, and decided to unfriend them right before they could understand how to become a self serving country......the fact that they were black didnt help. But the fact that they were competition was more than enough to get the US to start counting cards....
