Mo’Nique Talks Open Marriage...

You are incorrect. I would not allow that in MY marriage. Just because I can understand/respect someone else doing it, doesn't mean that's what I would want or allow. Just like, I can respect someone marrying outside their race, but I have absolutely no intentions or desire to date/marry anyone other than a black man. That's my choice. I simply believe in letting people do their own thing as long as they're happy and not hurting anybody.

There is nothing immoral about marrying outside of your race unless you are a racist...

You almost sound like Wanda Sykes comparing Gay Rights to the Civil Rights movement...:shame:

It amazes me how other folks get mad about what folks are doing. Look, the divorce rate is over 50% for first time marriages in this country. If folks would concentrate on their own marriages, those statistics would drop in no time. The problem is folks in America are to worried about what someone else is doing in their home, when they should be worried about their own homes. This ain't knew folks. Yall from the country, yall know Mr. Charlie or your so called uncle who is no blood been hitting your Auntie or Grandma for years. All them light skin cousins you got, when they folks blacker than tar just didn't appear you know. The question is, are yall happy? Folks who tend to get upset with other folks are doing usually are upset because they lives ain't happy.

Don't confuse folks getting "mad" with folks simply having an opinion or stance on the issue. If Mo'Nique kept HER business between her and her husband's marriage private, there would be NO need to even discuss this issue.

right these celebs feel like they owe us a insight on their personal life and they dont owe us nothing; then get mad when we have our comments about it somethings should stay with that man and that woman; and i didnt need to know about that nasty she wolf monique growing on those legs; yuck

Why get married if you gonna continue to step out on your spouse?

Why get married if you are going to be okay with your spouse stepping out on you?

Yeah...everyone can do what they want in their marriage/home, but that doesn't mean it's right/wrong. Everyone knows that in a marriage you don't step out on your husband/wife.

Now we trying to make it "ok" b/c more people are doing it?!

I love my single life!!! So simple!!:lol:

Exactly, that's what LAZY ass married people do when they don't want to WORK on keeping their marriages "closed". And if your marriage is indeed "open" as it has been labeled in this case, well shut the hell up and just do whatever it is you do in your marriage. You don't need to publicize it. It ain't our business.

That's the other thing I was thinking...why tell everyone? Who GAF? I know I don't..:smh:

But see...that's the problem with Monique...she talks to daymn much as is and now she done brought folks in her "home" business.

So basically for YEARS we listened to her talk about how she didn't love herself and had low self esteem and let her last husband (man) beat her.

So then she found beauty within herself and became a role model for big women.

Then we were all happy for her fat ass when she found a a new man that treated her good and loved her for "her".

Next she goes out and loses weight and slips up and say its' b/c her husband told her it's unhealthy. Dumbass you didn't know it was unhealthy before he told you.

Now you telling us he steps out (or can step out) on you/marriage if he wants...but you have no desire to!!?!:retard:

She needs to go 4 steps back and find that beauty in her again and start loving herself again!!

Marriage is about commitment. Why make the commitment if you are going to have sex with someone other than your spouse? If you feel like you can't keep that commitment, don't get married and then try to change the rules. Stay single.

This thread is hilarious & entertaining...y'all have made some very valid points. Po' Monique...it's quite painfully obvious she has issues, but once again if they like it, I love it. Maybe next time she'll keep her mouth closed about what goes on in her marriage/personal life. Everybody don't need to know everything...:smh:

She didn't have lypo cuz she's gained most of that weight back and she never looked as if she had any type of surgery...I just talked about this very topic not long ago. She didn't keep that lil weight off no time.

Not my cup of tea. Ya'll know there was an open marriage in the Bible?

J4L that may be true.. but she ain't allowing him to do him, sleep with other chicks... because of biblical reasons...

Cause if she was, she wouldn't have gotten upset when dude tried to holla at Buckey or one of them other Charm School girls.....

Trip part is she went off on the chick like she approach her "husband"...

That lady is a "Fat" joke to me now...

Oh ok... I don't really watch her show often.. I always see the commercials that show her with her weight lose....

Well that's a step in the right directionnn she gaining her weight back on that negga.... Lets see how long he stand for it.....lol

Who were they, S~?

Genesis 16

1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar;

2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. 4 He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.

-------------------------------------------------
Of course Sarai changed her mind AFTER the fact.

ok, thanks...I'm trying to learn my bible strories, but I don't know about this one. I'll have to read up on it...but you know everything going on now, all went on in biblical times too.

yeah...I knew she didn't have lypo but I didn't know she was gaining it back!! :( I hope she keeps it off...she looks good.

:lol:I done dogged this chick out the whole thread and now I feel bad for her gaining weight back!!

J4L, I've never heard of that particular Biblical story (thanks) but I have had discussions where people questioned why we are a monogamous society (or trying to be :D). Some people don't believe we should be committed to one person (most times men, LOL) but they not trying to get married either!

J4L, I thought that's who you'd name. But was that really open? Or doing what you had to do, trying to secure futures/maintain what you had? Children were important. Yes, she was a wife, but a wife was like chattel. She needed more because if Abram died, she was out of luck...so make things work for you to stay where you are...I don't think that's an open marriage, because, 1) Abram wasn't in on the deal; Haggar did her mistresses' bidding and 2)cause in the end, Haggar and her child are cast out--cause they are only slaves-- once Sarai has her own, even though Haggar's child is the eldest male. That lineage ALWAYS comes into play--like today, a child born in a legitimate marriage tends to reap the benefits moreso than an outside child.

They were trying to "help" God fulfill the Covenant he had with Abram (Abraham). They were punished for lack of faith and patience after this because God did not allow them to have Isaac for another 13-14 years.
