There's no love lost between Tennessee fans and Lane Kiffin.

Knoxville attorney Drew McElroy has filed paperwork with the Knoxville City Council's Public Properties and Facilities Naming Committee to rename a waste water treatment plant the “Lane Kiffin Sewage Center,â€￾ according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

“It dawned on me -- Lane Kiffin told us that he hoped the fans would understand. I thought 'Well, naming the wastewater plant for him would let him know, I think very clearly, we do understand,'“ McElroy told the paper. “We want to memorialize his stay here, and I think this would be doing it appropriately.â€￾

Kiffin was the Vols' football coach for just over a year before leaving Tennessee to take the head coaching job at USC.

Some people need to get over it. I just can't wrap my brain around how folks can get upset because a college coach left. Those folks gotta get a life.

If that is how they feel, why should they get over it?

I'm not saying people can't be upset about Lane Kiffin leaving. But it comes a point where you have to move on. I mean, Tennessee lawmakers rejected their customary annual resolution to honor the football coach of the University of Tennessee. Now some clown wants to name a waste treatment plant after a coach who took a better job opportunity?

I know people are very passionate about college sports. However, folks need to stop having this celestial attitude toward coaches and the programs they run.

Says who? I think renaming it is a good idea and sets a GREAT precedent until the next azz-wipe comes.

It would set a precedent for the level of stupidity that resides in the state of Tennessee that the city would rather waste taxpayer money on something serves no purpose. Instead of using that $262 application fee for something stupid, this guy could donate that money to a Hati relief fund or some other charity.

Oh, and it would also remind the people of Knoxville of how Lane Kiffin shyt on them and left for a much better job.

I am sure that plenty of taxpayers in Tennessee, expecially UT grads, donate to several charities.... more than $262 worth. Boy, you will try to pull an angle out the left side of your azz if there is nothing on the right...

The bottom line is that it's their business, their money, their choice! PERIOD! ...and I like it!
