Hook 'Em Horns: Why Texas Will Win the 2010 BCS National Championship

This year, the Tide have faced only one pass offense in the top 40 of the FBS (Arkansas). The average ranking of the pass offenses Alabama has faced is 67.25. And that doesn't include the Crimson Tide's game against FCS opponent Chattanooga.

Even though Alabama's defense has a reputation for being stout, they have yet to be tested by a prolific pass offense like the Longhorns'

Ten reasons Alabama will beat Texas

Being No. 1 in the nation in run defense is impressive no matter what, and Texas really does have a tremendous defensive front that should come up with a great game plan to slow down Heisman-winner Mark Ingram. But there are more weapons in the 'Bama arsenal with Trent Richardson and Roy Upchurch able to bring the speed and power to mix things up a bit. Again, what Texas has done stat-wise is noteworthy, allowing just 808 rushing yards and five touchdowns all year, but it's not like Nevada, Navy and Alabama were on the slate.

Oklahoma State was the best rushing team the Longhorns faced, and while the Cowboy attack was held to 134 rushing yards, Keith Toston ran for 70. The ground game wasn't the reason for the loss; four Zac Robinson interceptions and a 17-0 deficit were. The only other team Texas faced that could even remotely run was Texas A&M, and it gained 190 yards. Texas has yet to deal with a physical line like Bama's, and the same attitude the front five had against Florida should work in Pasadena.

The Horns have put up big stats against mostly sorry Big 12 defenses. They said the same thing about OU last year and the years that LSU and USC beat the sh-t outta them. Texas struggles against good defenses......the two that they faced(Nebraska and OU) they struggled.....16 points and 13 points.

About 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the games in Tuscaloosa, motivational songs and videos are played. The video that fires the crowd up is this scene from the movie the "Crimson Tide". The two stars in the movie are Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman........Check it out

PS: I love the way Mr. Cobbs says, AL.....LA........BAMA.....SIR!

I did not know the Bama football players were well versed in deciphering Chinese subtitles. Damn, that Rosetta Stone must really work.

:smh:...why do folks try and solitify their arguement using OU as an example for what Texas is. That's like folks picking against Iowa in a bowl game, cuz OhioSt. has been getting it handed to them in bowl games.

Once again...that kind of logic does nothing but get your arse kicked in front of millions.

I had Texas winning the national championship before the season started. I am sticking with that pick tonight.

Before I went to college I was only interested in watching Ohio State games or Texas games. So Im rollin with Texas.

I got a question: Should President Barack Obama invite to the White House the winner of the Citi BCS National Championship Game and Boise State, or just the Texas/Alabama winner?

DA-DAAAAA DA!!!!! HEY TEXAS????!!!!!

I have a question for you....Do you really expect logical answers to Bullsh*t questions or are you one of those guys looking for shock value in return?

How is my question placed in the category of shock value? The winner of tonight's game and Boise State would both finish the year 14-0. I think it would be a nice gesture for President Obama to recognize the accomplishments of both teams. How would that throw the Earth off its axis and turn the world upside down?

Hey, the president did say he would like to see a FBS playoff.
