Am I the only one still getting the "free" phone?

chocalate_topaz

I wanna be your lover...
I mean, whenever my cell phone is acting up...I go to the store and they ask me what I'd like and I always say the Free phone. This seems to irk many, MANY folks--my son, brother, the people at the phone store....I don't get it.

All I want to do is push Send to talk and End to stop talking and send a text every now and then. I don't want to surf 24/7 or receive emails at all gawdawful times of the day and night, or be in contact like that so easily. Do y'all ever shut the damn thang off? I do.

My brother says with all the business I have...I need a smartphone/Treo/blah, blah, too much money a month phone plan. I think I'm doing fine like I am

so what y'all got? Free or too much damn money a month phone?

Mine is free to me. My job pays for my phone. When I got ready to get a second cell phone, they upgraded mine to a Blackberry and upgraded my plan.

You're not alone. I will gladly take the free phone, if it's what I like. The phone I have now wasn't free, but it wasn't expensive either. All of my previous phones have been free though, I believe.
I don't talk on it alot, but I do text a lot. I just need something simple.

My Blackberry Storm was a "free" upgrade from Verizon. I have the data plan but I also get a government discount on my bill.

they talking about the "free" phone... yours was a different case. The free phones are usually the cheap phones nobody wants... Ive come to realize mostly older people get the free phones... or mothers get the free phones for their early teenagers or younger.

I am a technology Buff....who knew?

Blackberry Pearl which is beginning to Bore me to death.. and I dont even Need most of this stuff with it.....

I don’t get the phone fetish, most people seem to have.
I got my first and free cell phone about
7 years ago. Same phone, same calls
All this new stuff,
Changing phones every few months is
unnecessary and corny to me.

Ain't nothing like free.
I don't need a hand held computer at this point.
All I need my phone to do is call, receive, and give me clear and dependable service.
Extra "apps" for me is being able to take a photo or two.

Some people are "techies", some aren't. :D

I'm not a techie. When I took in my bizness phone--now this is the same phone my mom had prior to her death and she's been gone 2.5 years now--it was a Nokia slim one piece. The chick looked at it and said, WOW, I haven't seen one of those in years. I swear, if the numbers hadn't been sticking...I'd still be talking on it.

I've had my current phone 4 yrs. It wasn't free - it was $29.99 I think. I had a bag phone from '95 until 2002. :D :shame: :D

Wow, I had to Google It to refresh my Memory...:lol:

I still got the bag phone I got when I purchased my 1987 Nissan Sentra.
It was the 1st cell phone I had.
The Nissan dealership in Jackson was giving them away with every new car sold during that time.

were you one of those people with the the "box kit"
on those sentras, financing them for like 7-8 years...lol...

They came to JSU talkin' bout we can finance you
a sentra for like 8 years.

I'm like what?

I upgrade to another free joint every 2 years. Blackberry's and all of that are cool, but I can think of so much other stuff I can do with $300-$400. That's just me. I'm not really a gadget person. I got a desktop, a laptop and a PS3, so I'm good for a few years.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Nissan was new to jackson then and they was trying everything to get those cars on the street.
I went directly to the "HILL" off I-20 and got one financed for 3 little years.
I didn't add nothing on my car.
Just drove the wheels off that sucka all over the Southeastern U.S.

I'm sorry but this Iphone is the shyt...Now granted I didn't go for the 16G but I don't use my phone for music and Rhapsody is cool to use instead of Itunes.

I paid 99 dollars a peice for the wife and I to have an Iphone.

Before that I got two Blackberry Curves for 30 dollars each. That was 2.5 years ago. Loved that phone but it bored me after a while.

Other than that all I use to do was get the free phones. But I have access to the business account with AT&T so we got the best free phones not those cheap looking joints.

Not sure if I can go back to the free phones after this Iphone. Yeah I sure. I want go back...LOL

Man when those sentras hit the yard.

People were dropping out of school, like flies
and never returning.

Alot of dudes, and chicks I know were
Talking bout "Imma sit out this semester, and work
cause I got to pay for my sentra."

Now the sentra been gone and they never returned to school.
