@Royboy. What you mean you don't know what's up with band travel lately. lol. Have you been watching CNN and this economy. Many people fail to realize just how much it costs to move a band. PWCs get away with it because they use 1 bus and travel a pep band. lol. If MVSU wasn't in-state the Boom probably wouldn't have gone there.

I understand the whole expense/ budget cut thing. I just think good leadership or a good manager should be able to work through that or at least build it in the plan. JSU was at veterans 6/10 games this year, so the only significant trip really was to Alabama, which you don't stay overnight for. I think it really just speaks to a larger concern I have with the black college football experience, and that bands (2 bands per game) are a large part of that experience. And more and more are not traveling to each other, which in the long run I think hurts everyone. And administrators and directors take the easy route and make cuts, with out factoring in cost of not going or potentially not having a band travel to you. I think there will be years when the funds are not there for some trips or one or 2, but you can tell when a pattern is developing. and I don't think all of it is due to cuts.
