We made phone calls to him. We sent emails to him. But he didn’t call us back. He didn’t return our emails. Nothing was done. Our concerns were ignored. He treated us as if we didn’t know what we were talking about, as if we were the ones who had a problem.

As a result, we sat and watched some of the most horrible halftime shows in GSU’s proud band history. So far this year, after 4 games, the band has performed the exact same show since the beginning of the season.

The World Famed was the band that “Hutch†built and is now the band that Dr. Pannell destroyed. We can no longer tolerate this garbage! And because of this…PannellGottaGo!

Dr. P, its about to come down on you. Your past actions leave us no choice but to expose those band secrets you’d never want anyone (including Dr. Judson) to know. Be careful what you tell people. Be careful what you tell the band during practice, because chances are that it may end up on here at the end of the day.

We understand the fact that you have tenure and can’t be fired. The only thing left is for you to step down. Until that happens, we have no choice but to tell the internet world how you really operate.

Those kids in the band deserve better. The alumni deserves better. Grambling deserves better!

Well Damn is that serious to make a website about kicking a band director to the curb. How about the World Famed alum go to panell office and discuss yall issues with him about the direction of the band.

I agree. Don't be a pussy and post your rants and raves on a website. How about confronting the man if you're that unhappy. This certainly won't help anything.

After reading the above post and the website looks like Pannell has not listened. It is what it is.
 
There is a diplomatic way to go about doing this...and this ain't it!

I personally don't think a GSU faithful put this together (then again...it could be possible).
 
So disrespectful!! :shame:

Wonder how this makes the current members in the band feel?

I bet the main ones signing the petition or putting this website together dont' even financially support the university nor the band!

Right and prolly never played an instrument! And is spelling "sugar" with an "e" instead of an "a" some new slang? :noidea: I'm just wondering...

These complaints should have been taken to the man for changes...

Now, it is obvious that it is Needed...:lol: But Find another way to get this point across....:noidea:

Who the hell is ASU?

For the record, the band put on a dayum good halftime show at the SFC this weekend. We definitely won halftime. :lol: PV's band got boo'ed off the field, especially with that hair spray gimmick. Anyway, I'd made a suggestion to Dr. Pannell and he included it in the show. The suggestion was to do "GS, GS, GS, GS, U, U, U, I thought you knew" as they left the field. IT WORKED. Got the fans fired up, as usual.

It's all about how you go to him and present yourself. As it would be with me, you or anybody else. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means.
 
one of my closest friends marched under Pannell and she think he need to go and yes she gives back to the band but the blame cant just be put all on DOC; come on gram folk do yall honestly think the band sound good; i heard the band in 2003 and thats the last year i heard a good sounding band; if im wrong please post a clip of the band sounding good this year or last year or the year before that; yeah Pannell is the director but the students are the ones who play the music and march
 
You really can't really tell how Grambling sound on the field, because they are never in concert formation. Turning around and dancing when they are playing really does not help there sound, its just too much movement on the field.
 
A "fire such and such.com"..."xyz has to go.com"...etc, etc. is nothing new. That's been going on about folks for years now. So, who cares what the students think?

Plus, I don't care if it just came out of the freezer...Grum has stunk for some time now. Heck, that website is 3 or 4 years late.
 
There is a better way to handle that situation...

I am pretty sure that there could be _________gottago.com sites at all of our schools, because we could ALL use improvement in certain areas.

GSU handle your business appropriately...you do have a tradition and legacy...improper conduct such as this to remove the director could do more harm than good to the program.
