RB,
there is an interesting discussion going on about this in smalltalk....
Thanks...
Why do we as black people tend to ignore tragedy like this, but when the white folks mumble a word we all over them. This is a prime example of how screwed up our communities are. We need to be all over these clowns brought up in our very own community before we go trying to correct others.
Why do you ignore racism against blacks? Are you afraid to point it out? You are so hell bent on pointing out the faults of your own race, while you never point out the faults of your own political party or other races.
Topdog, I'm still waiting on this person to discuss the President's economic policies and their impact on the recession. Obama hasn't been President a whole year and all the leading economist have all indicated it's over. Now he's focusing on cleaning up the aftermath of it.

Because for many of us-white racism towards us, isn't as great as blacks being heck raisers to themselves.
Like many of my college friends and myslef have faced more hatred from our own race than Whites or Hispanics. Because we are viewed as sellouts for graduating college. And some will tell you that straight to your face.
I look at my school district and folks want to blame whites and hispanics yet most of the scandals are caused by us. And yes it has costed all of us (mainly in the pocket book) and the kids dearly.
Chicago is trying to get the Olympics and this could convince those folks to go elsewhere. How much money could Chicago lose if they get passed over? How many new jobs?

Well said........
You guys are going way over board with this Jena stuff. Yes those guys were some lil bad dudes with records, but the point of the march was not for there wrong doing, it was the fact that black folks in that town never got a fair trail. Regardless of there past, those dudes still deserved a fair trail. That was the point of jena. Folks get and catch on to one part of the situation and run with it. Even folks who flat out murder someone with a million folks as witnesses still get a fair trail. That's the due process.
I do find myself frustrated that we will march in Jena but will stay silent as hell about black on black violence.
Just a reminder....there are far more white people that kill white people then blacks that killed white people and far more in masses.
Do you see white people marching to stop white on white crime?
Do you even hear of any concern about it from white people?
While I agree it is a problem in the black community I'm afraid to many of us has bought into another con job as if it's unique to the black community and our concern is more about what they think (whites) then actually improving our young men and women.
That's a valid point, but to totally ignore the racism against blacks while only focusing on the racism by blacks is not right. We video tapes of white cops beating black people, stuff like dragging that black man by a truck in Jasper, TX, and all other kinda racism against blacks, but getting some folks to bring that up is like pulling teeth. On the job in these predominantly white owned businesses, blacks often get passed up for getting hired and for promotions solely based on their race. Why not talk about that part of racism as well? Ya'll act like all racism is by black people. There's a thread here about how some nutcase put up a facebook poll about whether Obama should be killed? Why won't people like Royal Blue make a post in that thread denouncing that poll the way he denounces stuff that blacks and democrats do?
the way some of yall post on here it seem like yall dont give a F what white folks think or do...so why when Royal Blue make a topic about the idiots in our community you wanna all of a sudden bring up white folks again?
You know, I marvel at how great and fair this country is when it comes to the black race. How is that black folks like Master P, Baby, Jay Z, Jeezy, and other thugs can grow up in the Ghetto, go to jail broke, come out hustlin legit, and blow up into millionaires? How do you do that being black with a criminal record and no college degree? You would have to be an idiot to believe this country is unfair when you got former drug dealers leaving the game, hustlin legit, and making it big.
I'm looking at all those strikes against them, and asking how in the he// they make it in this racist unfair country?:noidea:
Oh how do we forget!
Carl Brashear and Frederick Douglass are the type of black men I hold dear to my heart. It's stories like theirs that make this country great. Why? These men didn't complain, nor did they make excuses......................they were men.

CEE,
I well understood the reason for the Jena March. However, half of the folks who went down there were uneducated about the situation. There was real reason to protest because those kids were overcharged and about to be locked away with no regards. However, to demand that all charges be dropped was unreasonable. I have problems with uneducated activist of any color..
To say that you admire those men that didn't complain, you sure do a lot of complaining on this board about blacks and democrats.
