Last time I checked the ones in the SU hazing incident have already been charged and some pleaded guilty. I don't see where this no real consequences and same situation comes in. The ones responsible were held accountable and those that didn't participate were allowed to resume with their collegiate careers. CASE CLOSED!

Right!!
And then if the next one die...then he was weak as heyal for dying b/c the first one lived!!! :retard:

27 band members suspended from JSU for 2 years.

JACKSON, Miss. -- Jackson State University officials said 27 students were suspended Wednesday from the university for two years as a result of a hazing investigation involving Sonic Boom of the South marching band.

All but two of those suspended were Sonic Boom members. The other two were former band members, who were still JSU students, said Marcus Chanay, the university's associate vice president of student life.

did you just make that word up?

Shut the heyal up...okay...we get it...you wanted to do an article on the Boom when you were in Undergrad and nobody would talk to you!! We know...if you had done that article you would have used it to actually accomplish something in life and become a good reporter!!

What you want....an apology?

The Boom doesn't fool with fake ass reporters!!

Daymn...move on and get the fugg over it!!

My disenchantment for those young men and women who make oral love to wind instrumentals and bang drums durung practice and on Saturdays have nothing to do with me not having the ability to publish a story about alleged hazing. It is much deeper than that.

I have heard all the stories and seen injuries, but yet those kids did not come forward. And that I completely understood because those young band members did not want to face the possibilty of being singled out and ostracized if in fact it was revealed they were the ones who outed their colleagues. Not easy to deal with fresh out of high school.

Say what you want about me being fake. I don't care. That's your opinion. But what is not fake is 27 members of the band have been levied a serious punishment for their actions. That makes my university look bad. And at the end of the day, nobody wants that. So that makes those band members who were involved in hazing asshats and drillrods. If you don't like it, well, I ain't got nothing to tell ya, bro.

So why aren't the freshman getting the same extreme punishment? I mean damn, didn't they volunteer to get they ass beat? If the ones swingin got suspended with no way to transfer for 2 years, so should the ones that were in the cut. I know that's what our hazing agreements used to say(which I paid no attention to by the way), those participating as well as initiating are just as guilty. Don't nobody force you to be wit it. I hate to see any of this type of stuff occur.

The punishment for the freshmen involved in the hazing allegations will not be as severe as the ones found guilty of hazing. Many of the freshmen are being charged with failure to comply with university policy, which will results in fines.

100 percent agreed all the way...2 years hell no...:upset:and I cant stand to hear comments or opinions from folks who have never been in the band and has been thru the band process either who pass judgement, where they stupid yes should the students been suspended yes but two years no.............I feel sorry for the seniors who are only a year or semester away from graduation this is a sad case all the way around

Do you think Mason handed down this penalty based on the allegations made in 2007?

At this undisclosed location, the freshmen reported that they were assaulted by upperclassmen and former band members with 2x4s, pipes, baseball bats, paddles, sticks, mallets, beer bottles, and a chair which caused swelling of limbs scratches, bruises, abrasions and fractures.

 & :shame: @ this statement.....now all the isht thats been going on....i know dayum well all of this is a lie....

Re: Hey "Sonic Boom"

Underclassmen, that are part of the band’s percussion section, were told by band members to meet at an off-campus location on High Street. The underclassmen were beaten with boards, mallets, pipes, beer bottles and baseball bats, Chanay said

Wow, that is a damn shame :smh:

Wow..... Good job JSU administration.....:shame: But no seriously, good job enforcing the rules, even though you did not enforce them evenly across the board. Them dumb-ass crabs should be dealing with THE same punishment as the upper-C's. There are no victims in hazing, just hazers, and the hazed. Both parties participate by choice. Hell, them dumb ass crabs should be suspended from ALL colleges if they stupid enough to let muhfuggas allegedly hit them with chains, pipes and beer bottles. :noidea:

Wow. I did a double take when I saw JSU. I thought hazing and criminality did not exist at Jackson State. At least that is what we were told by JSU posters on TSPN. :noidea:

Crys, I agree with you the hazers AND THE HAZEES should all be penalized. The hazers, however, should face criminal charges for their actions.

You still trying to write that article huh?
Talking about "This makes my University bad"! No, what makes MY university bad is when you hand your resume to someone with JSU on it after that person just finished reading one of your articles!! That's what makes MY university look bad!!!

Beat it!

We are THE SONIC BOOM OF THE SOUTH!!!

We gonna do this for the "27"!!! SU finna get that azz handed to them AGAIN!! Ewwww-weeee I'd hate to be sitting across from the SONIC BOOM this weekend!!

We bout to take all our frustrations out on you!!! One of the articles posted said hazing is like Child Abuse... well COME TO DADDY BYTCHES!!!

TRRRRIIIIICCCKKKKSSSSS!!!!

*pour some out for the "27"*
*but not a lot cuz taxes on liquor just went up in Cook County*
*but I"m pouring a little out...*

Unfortunately we let our standard down and allowed Louisiana folks in the band. The "27" came here thinking this was SU...so now we dealing with the same ghetto stuff SU been used to.

Don't worry...we won't do it again!
