GSU/OKLST halftime

There is no p.c. way of saying this...that was just bad! That is not representative of how a university band should sound...:smh:

I wonder if "GSU#1 MS" is still on the board. I would like to hear his thoughts on how and why gsu sounds like this.

lol... Why are we acting like this is something "NEW" for GSU band?

This been going on since at least the early 90's

I've just had the UN pleasure of listneing to that crap..

:shame::shame::shame:

Like I said this is nothing new, this is pretty much status quo over there.

It's so much that can be said about that, that would hurt more than GSU's feelings... But I will take the higher road...

:shame:

SAD isn't even the word......:whine: My kids (3yr old twins and a 2yr old) USUALLY dance when I listen to band clips....... Not this time though.... "I wish I had 2 more hands so I can give this clip 4thumbs down!!! The band's gone BAAAD!!!":tdown::tdown::tdown:

Gram is way smaller this year, they are really young, and the directors have no control... GSU is not tha same anymore....

OMG. I hope it was just bad microphone positions.

yep! this would be the reason. I am a videographer at WJTV. The worst thing I hate is when the producer used the nat mic off of the camera. The camera is mainly going to pick up the instrument it is aim or zoom into. So if that horn is flat it is going to sound like shit. Brass instruments are the worst. BET halftime show was good for doing that crap. To fix the problem, the tv sound engineer need to fix a boom or surround mic high up, maybe on top of the pressbox. Similar what the NFL does for crowd noise. You will then hear the overall sound. The SWAC band directors should get this approved and contract signed before a HBCU band halftime show is aired LIVE. So Grambling it ain't your fault:clap:

I was at the GSU/OK State game and Cherokee is absolutely correct. The mics were sorely misplaced and even when their band played the "chicken dance" it was awful.

Now for the rest of you mofo's hatin' on the WORLD FAMED, take note of this. Go do something about your sorry azz bands, with their low-stepping, note-splitting, band member dancing dolls (super 11 or whatever the heyal they're called) hazing, robbing, thieving, off tempo, can't hear but 2 instruments (drums and horns) azzes. THAT'S NOT MUSIC PEOPLE. And if you talk with some of the "old heads", your band ain't what it used to be either. And for the record, STOP PUTTING YOUR INSTRUMENTS ON THE GROUND TO DO A DANCE ROUTINE. Anybody can dance without holding an instrument in their hands. Do something people in the stands can't do. And also, for the record, tell your band directors to stop copying other bands songs/style. Show some originality. Be creative. Stop being a copycat. :lecture:

You really told us, huh? Well, doesn't change the fact that :vomit:*ramblin sounds like a herd of elephants playing "Battle $h!+s".....

At least you recognized the song. We wouldn't know what the heyal the human flukebox was playing. But we do know that in the middle of whatever the song is, them 11 band member dancing dolls will step out and turn a flip.:lol::lol::lol:

You must don't have good hearing....lol

Mic placement is one thing and it wasn't good placement...

I think we all can agree on that those numerous individuals on them horns in GSU band do sound like some cow..:vomit: :vomit: :vomit:

I can't see how you can compare GSU to any band in the swac this year.. I actually have a hard time trying to find a good high school to compare them to....

Are you serious? Nevermind you went to rambling. That in itself explains all.

Question Diva
In your right mind do you think The World Shame is better than the Human Jukebox? If you do I have some lake front property to sell you in Grambling, LA. for a small price.

Someone post the trumpet solo from the SWAC Meac Challenge. For that the whole band of the World Shame needs to be suspened for hazing a song.:shame::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks for contributing your expertise on this subject. I don't think the contract thing is going to come about, but I hope the leaders of the band programs are listening and will take the proper steps to ensure that the bands are presented in the best possible light via the technology.
