Comegy is an idiot, all in favor say "I"....

Unless Mosley drives down the field on our 1st possession, IF HE EVEN START'S, you can bet TRAE will be back in on the 2nd or 3rd series.

I have seen this happen too many times when he said he was going to make a QB change.

Yep, never fails.

I wonder if this is why the McKenna (?) kid left last season? Did / Does Woody/Comegy show bias toward Rutland to the point that so many qb's left?

That dude was so slow, he got killed in the Blue and White game.
There was NO CHANCE of him playing.
That guy didn't show nobody a thing.

The kid from OHIO left 3 times because he got home sick.
The 2nd time his father talked him into comming back after the 4th of July break and the 3rd time, people was like SEE YA cause you wasting our time.

exactly, and I mean, I don't like Tray either, but did Mosley really beat Tray out in less than a week? For the last two years something weird is going on as far as the QBs are concerned. :noidea:

I say again.
COMEGY GET'S TOO ATTATCHED TO HIS PLAYERS PERSONALLY.
Not saying that's a bad thing but as a coach, you have to be able to seperate LIKING A KID ON A PERSONAL LEVEL and PLAYING THE BEST GUY YOU HAVE AT A POSITION.

Blind loyalty can be a killer if you are a head coach.
Look at how the Old ball Coach, Steve Spurrier, run his team.
He may like a kid on a personal level and help them to no ends in life, but he ain't scared at all to pull the incumbant from the game and benching his butt on the spot wether he likes the kid or not.

You need to start thinking the same.
Broadway made it no secert what ya'll can do with you head coaching job at the B.C.

bet ya'll won't get in his face again. :lmao:

Now players... If Broadway leaves, we don't have to buy him out.

But, back to the topic... When Comegy started that whole mess in the preseason talking about his Qbs being neck and neck, I knew Jackson would be playing QB musical chairs again. Mosley also tried out for Gram. We passed on him, too, for a reason. He nor Rutland is the answer at QB. A few completions on bombs aren't evidence of ability. You might as well play McDonald now. TSU is the weakest team of Jackson's next three games. Let him get his feet wet. Ain't like you won't go back to the other two anyway.

Yeah that loyalty can kill ya. I have seen it happen. I know Pete is pretty loyal to his Srs... but I know he will bench a mofo if they aint performing. If I was Comegy I would have went with McDonald and had Trae for a backup. Especially seeing that yall have a young good group of players. Let McDonald grow with them. I see Pete is going to let the McGinty kid play a few series in games to get him ready to take over after this season because BLee is a Sr. Heck the other 2 upperclassmen Qbs got moved to other positions so the young guys can get some reps in practice.

You would think Comegy would go ahead and get McDonald's feet wet in a real game since he will be the man next season. Playing Mosely another Sr serves no purpose. Might as well just keep Trae in if you aint going to play McDonald. But hey that's just my take on it. JSU will probably beat this Tn State team anyway so it may not matter who yall play at Qb. Even more reason to play McDonald.

I think he is a looney toon for putting Mosley in this position because the last thing you want to do is get behind Tennessee State.

From what I saw last year and last week, Jackson State needs to be a front-running team. They should get the lead and let that defense hold it. Tennessee State's passing game may not be that much of a worry so I still think JSU can win, but damn, could Comegy place his team in a "worse" position before this game?

I mean, if I was a JSU fan, seeing my probable challenger for the Eastern Division roll through my next opponent, who I have lost five or six straight times to, and knowing that if I don't beat them this year, not only will I not have confidence in my coach, but also I immediately think of Grambling and Southern getting primed with better passing attacks. :scared:

I guess all I have to look forward to again is tailgaiting at Memorial. Damn shame. I hope they prove me wrong though.

Well, at least God did not send me to a university completely away from civilization in the bowels of Louisiana. You know, around people, electricity, running water...things of that nature. The basic needs of human existence if you will.

Last time I checked SU was still located in metropolitan city. :noidea:

OK.
I just got a look at the Clarion Ledger and Comegy tried to explain his decision to jump Mosley over Dedric McDonald who beat out TRAE last week for the QB position.
Guess he been getting a "few" call's about his decision making from fans and the press.

That "Experience" talk has come up again.
I don't mind "experience", but what good is experience when the caliber of play is not there.
I hope Mosley has his timing down better cause he has missed a lot of receiver's with overthrown passes and 1 hopping short passes to receivers.
I say give the young guy a shot and let him grow up.

Campus Reports------Coach Explains his QB decision.

Senior Tray Rutland started last week in the 45-7 loss to Mississippi State but barely beat out redshirt freshman Dedric McDonald in the preseason. If the coaching staff decided to sit Rutland, common thought would have McDonald getting the opportunity.
Obviously, that wasn't the case.
"It wasn't the fact that he jumped over Dedric; I went with experience," Comegy said. "Dedric's a great quarterback and he's going to have his day

You're missing the whole point and you obviously don't "watch" football. Jimmy Oliver led us to that title..........we were lucky enought to have an elusive QB to make things happen. You have to look at the decision making of the coaches Kendrick........the lack of ability to make adjustments during the game and especially at halftime. That's what I look at and Comegy and Woody just don't seem to have what it takes between the ears. Look at the MSU game........not saying we would have won, but what coach in his right mind goes into a game, not prepared with a capable back up long snapper. Our defense was holding......we gave them great field position with a dummy that long snaps with ONE HAND! Good coaches are prepared for that sorta thing. Ours were not. No adjusments on the field at all. Same spread offense dumb play calling..........we fool no one with that crap they line up with.

Oh, so when the team wins the players get the credit. But the team loses the coaches get all the blame. I'm not saying that coaches shouldn't be shielded from criticism when the game plan goes wrong or lack of adjustments are made. However, to ask for Braddy and or Mason (not saying you) to fire Comegy because he changed QBs is way past meatball. It's time to drive into a lake.

Again, the spread offense has nothing to do with the lack of production. Coaches can run any offense they want, but if the players don't execute or personnel are not used to create favorable matchups, then production will still stuck.

But like I said before, coaches are going to say and do things that don't work or fail or make you scratch your head. But that is now reason to believe you or I know more than the coach does, considering Comegy has been pretty successful so far. Only time will tell if that continues. However, there is no reason after the first game to throw the baby out with the bath water.

It wasn't the fact that he jumped over Dedric??!!:retard: WTF is he doing starting then?

That's a bunch of BS to the nth degree. If player A is more talented than player B, you play player A. We had experience last year with those two guys and look where it got us?

Comegy's making more excuses than a caught husband with lipstick on his pants.:shame:

Kendrick...trust me on this one. Stick to baseball. That is all.

Tigers have yet another new QB — Mosley

For the third time in three weeks, Jackson State has a new starting quarterback.

Mike Mosley will be under center to begin the Southern Heritage Classic against Tennessee State on Saturday, coach Rick Comegy said Wednesday.

"He brings experience, athleticism and he can run," Comegy said. "I think he'll add a spark, and we don't have to go down to a redshirt freshman (Dedric McDonald). He can be a weapon for us in a lot of different things."

Senior Tray Rutland started in last week's 45-7 season-opening loss at Mississippi State, but only after Comegy spent most of fall camp touting McDonald.

Mosley, a senior, transferred from Louisiana Tech last season and lost out in the QB battle to Rutland. In eight games, Mosley threw for 442 yards, four touchdowns and had three interceptions. He completed 31.4 percent of his passes

It is what it is.
Ain't like we have not heard the phrase "QB Change" only to have the same old #7 run out onto the field.

Example of the last time this happened.
THE SU GAME LAST YEAR.
Mosley was slated to be the starter and guess who played the game.

Actually the last 3 yrs cause Comegy use to pull Oliver for no reason too. If he wouldn't have pulled Oliver the first Grambling game, JSU may have won that game. I'm not calling Comegy an idiot but he like messing with his QBs.

Frat, I thought we(SU) knocked Mosely out that game. He had some kind of injury. I know I saw him head to the sideline shook up.

Mosley could have come back in later on, but once Trae got in the game, Mosley was done for the night.
Mosley got banged up on the 2nd series of the 1st qtr.
It was a standard "hard Hit" all QB's take at some point.
He was standing on the sideline the rest of the game.

Look up.
I was at the same game dude.
Lawd.

and im saying bad example b/c he was knocked of the game.. Fact
you said he could have come back in - Opinion

your assuming he could of come back in just b/c he was on the sideline. Heck B.Lee was on the side line after getting injured last yr for the bayou classic but no way he was coming back in...again that's why i said Bad Example..not that your argument is wrong just a bad example... lol calm down.
