Still not sure why folks were not watching the ball more closely to see who had it. tackle both of the summa beothcez!!!! geesh
 



What a frustrating and hot day at the Citrus Bowl. Congrats to SCSU. Grambling played a good football team today and the best team won. We will bounce back. To have as many turnovers and problems on special teams as we did today and and only lose by 3 says a lot.

I think SCSU's QB getting injured was a blessing in disguise for them. With Ford going out with the arm injury for most of the 3rd quarter and Long not being a runner that would have altered their game plan as the backup running back is not as explosive as Ford. Wiley came in there and made the difference in the game. He's slick with the ball and we were prepared for Long and not him.

Offensively, we didn't protect the ball like we needed to (something that Coach Broadway preaches) and it hurt us. I'll be in Grambling on Saturday to root the Tigers on.

Now, let me head downstairs and go meet the crew (STC, Tru2GSU and TGee).
 
This one hurt STC badly.

Great game but too many mistakes for Gsu. Sometimes its best to stick with what you do best. Dillon had been hearing all summer long how he must stay in the pocket. That hurt Us tonight when Dillon clearly should have ran instead of trying to make that throw.

Questionable playcalls at questionable times.

At the end of the day its only one game and the season is long.

This was a pride game for Gsu. Next week game is even bigger. Many adjustments must be made in this short week.
 
Typical SWAC coached game. When you are able to run the ball at well on a drive for the score and your defense holds, you come back immediately with the play action pass. Play action pass keeps the defense honest and they begin thinking. Once a defense starts thinking they lose a step.

If Grambling is to win outside of the conference we need coordinators that can coach beyond the SWAC. We as SWAC fans need to demand more. Our showing over the weekend was horrific.

I concur, but lets make your comment more truthful. Fundamental football will always win against the HBCU, which includes FAMU. Somewhere in the past, Black Colleges stop learning, teaching, and developing their game of football. The questions that we need to ask are:

  • When did we stop being high achievers;
  • How do we go back to being innovated thinkers; and
  • How long will it take to accomplish the goal of being high achievers again?

We need to hire coaches outside the box instead of bringing in coaches from other HBCUs

Some Gram folks were calling us sell-outs for having coaches on our staff that had never coached at an HBCU and also because they were white.... :noidea:

The problem is, the people that are doing the hiring can't think outside the box. Tradition and politics are the main reasons. HBCUs have become more politically motivated than educated innovators.

You are only a sell-out when you don't use them to get to the next level, because I bet your bottom dollar they are using you to get to the next level.

For some strange reason, I know that you are lying. GSU and other swac schools have played many hbcu's w/coaches who haven't coached in the swac or other hbcus's and calling others sell out isn't our thing. If this is true, trust me I would have heard about it.

Pitbull, you don't have to lie to kick it. Simply because the sun shined on your dog azz for a day doesn't mean you have arrived. You are still one game and done FCS playoff team. Your coaches called a very bone head game. You just happen to be playing a HBCU opponent that didn't exploit your apparent weaknesses. The MEAC is truly no better than the SWAC, but you have been able to win the SWAC/MEAC challenge.
