Will the SWAC office honor McNair this year by having all teams wear some type of patch on their Jerseys?
 
Do you recall them doing it for any other great that passed??? I don't. Don't see them doing now, either.
 



I don't think they did it for Coach Robinson or any of the other greats, but now would be a good time to start.
 
Man, knowing this backward @$$ conference, they'll probably do a "moment of silence in remembrance" at the beginning of the first conference game and that'll be it.

I don't work for the university but I just don't get that impression from our athl head <b>or our president</b>. :read:

We didn't honor our own properly in the recent past so I really can't see us honoring someone else's in that same regard. 5 mins of silence pre-game, special prayer, special song, etc... but no name/initials on any PV jersey. :tdown:
 
I know we wore a sticker on the back of our helmets for Coach Rob's passing.... Had Coach's initials inside of a football...

I think some folx put out the idea that Mr Eddie Robinson's name should've been placed on all of our school jerseys during his passing. That too was pure unadulterated absurdity. lol He wasn't a PV tendsetter. lol We were already established and <b>competing</b> lol. :emlaugh:

Oh Coach Rob was a PV trendsetter alright. Started a trend to put 60 to 80 points on PV for almost 25 years...

The same can be said for McNair...

Absolutely disagree. Another example of individualistic thinking. He brought great positive attention to the SWAC. It would be great for the SWAC to honor him with a simple sticker on the back of the helmet. But it hasn't been done as a conference before, so I don't see it happening now. Each school will have to make its own choice. Sooner or later, we will start doing the right things.

But if that's the attitude of PV, more power to them. I just would expect better.

But I'd be damned if his name ever appeared on a PV jersey while I have breath in this body. Bet that. :swink: And it certainly never appeared, now did it? =======================================> :retard:

Understood and it's quite individualistic, which should be applauded IMO. :|

I'd be <b>shocked</b> if PV followed and PV would also lose one of their own stars in the process :read:. We start our NAA meetings in a few days and I'll be speaking w/ <b>Dr Wright</b> <u>personally</u> advocating NOT. We didn't honor our <b>own</b> folx in the recent past so it would be ridiculously stupid, IMO, to honor someone elses.

I can reel off 8 quick names of gridiron trendsetters that PV should've wholeheartedly honored, and yes, they're my own relatives. We mightily supplied that powerhouse back in the gap and nothing was done in their behalf and everyone knows their histories.
