Dish or Direct?

I wish I could watch something right about now or at least the last hour.........it's raining

Directv hands down...Dish doesn't even offer local channels in lots of areas. I always got great service with directv and was given deals and specials, EVERYTIME I called them.

I ended up picking Dish, it came in a bundle with internet and phone. So no NFL Sunday ticket.......

How are YOU not going to have NFL Sunday ticket?!?! There are 3 women in my house and we have the Sunday Ticket

Well, its not a big deal, and it certainly wasn't enough to get me out of this bundle deal. For the forst 12 months I get all the channels, the super high speed internet, and the all inclusive phone package for 135 bucks. Then after 12 months it only goes up 25 bucks. Currently, I pay more than that for just cable....

Plus B-Ham carries the Saints games, so I get to see my team anyway!

I feel you on that with my DirecTV bundle with internet and phone is about 225 a month. And living in DC I rarely get the Bear or Falcons games so getting the Sunday Ticket was a must for us.

You'll enjoy it. I just moved and had my Dish transferred to the new house. Told them to take tha DirectTv dish down and install my stuff up. LOL..

The only time my Direct goes out is when my cable somehow unscrews from the back and I spend hours trying to fix it my DVR thinkin something is wrong with it.... sheesh.

Well I will find out on Friday.....If that is not the case, then they will have some explaining to do. You did make me check, and I see where I wrote down it goes up 25 bucks after 6 months, then another 25 after the next 6 months. I was thinking 25 bucks after 12 months. At least this post made me check my own notes......

Now you got me worried about all my channels, I was thinking I would only have to pay for the college football package and I would be good to go......:(

rate wise the two even with the bundled package are going to be close to the same. When you are in a direct market against each other, when one lowers the price the other one is going to do the same thing (plane tickets, cell phone plans, etc).... Remember anything that SOUNDS too good to be true is TOO GOOD to be true... Ive learned dealing in customer service, you never save more than $10 on a bundled package.... it only makes gives you the convience of having to pay one bill instead of 3.... BUT you are prone to more billing mess ups with bundled packages. In bundled packages the rates arent lowered... it just gives you a $5 or $10 discount for having them bundled.

An "EVERYTHING package" is going to start off at $100 off the top (without HD or DVRs, etc).... I cant see a phone package with unlimited calling and long distance and an internet package totalling less than $75 at all...

just double check and make sure you read the fine print.... that price doesnt sound right at all.... even with it going up $25 twice...

Now that may be the price for all the channels excluding premium channels like HBO, Cinnemax, Starz and Showtime.

Thanks for the heads up, and I will check to be sure. I am pretty sure I am getting the 250 channels with the premiums. I am on it. And I am not very surprised with the bundles issue. Price wise I didn't see a big difference, I just saw a bog difference when comparing it to my current cable bill. I just went for the convenience of one bill.

DaHill the info has been much appreciated......
