I have seen a lot of heat when this name is mentioned.
Is he known for rockin' tha boat with the SU Alumni?

Frat,

Clayton is self-absorbed. He likes the limelight and he will say whatever sometimes without thinking in my opinion. Kind of a radical. Dude is not dumb.... he is an Attorney/former special prosecuter for the State..just sometimes don't utilize common sense. He is a grandstander in my opinion.

His whole lets play LSU thing had all of Baton Rouge laughing at his arse including the LSU folks. Just has some wacky ideas.

Maybe he is kin to GR.....they both about the same skin tone.:D

Scotland catches a rap from some of these folk because of it's past....nowadays it's really mostly a quiet and subdued area. Things that happen in Scotlandville during game days and such is usually from those who have come from outside of Scotlandville.

The South Baton Rouge area has activity...all types of activity...at all times. However it's not as violent and crime ridden as the area South of LSU in Gardere. MB has ventured into the bottom at night before...but I ain't cfuking around in Gardere at 12 noon with a police escort. Not me!!!!!

Back to Topic: Yall do how yall think best, but if I was the AD at either school there's no way I would move a sellout home game anywhere...especially when the game counts in the standings. A trip to Birnmingham to win it all would be my most urgent consideration. I understand generating revenue, but I would make it up in other ways besides moving a key conference game to the opponents stadium.

In years that it's not a conference game (and depending on where it falls on the schedule)...work together to move it a "neutral" site where both schools have a heavy alumni base. Off the top, Chicago sounds appealing but that's a nice distance. Maybe the ATL or closer still... Shreveport one year and Memphis the next to make it somewhat regional and "home based".

Too bad Mississippi only has one "City" (Had to get my Sippi smack in... )

Hey GR, I guess Mike Bigg is lying too. Since he lives in Baton Rouge. He probably don't know. Since he is a Gramblingnite, he should have some morality right?

MAN if anybody is a fat LIAR it's GR..
I was just in Vicksburgs and stop through on my way to Monroe...I went to the roughest spot in VIcksburg..They had a lady in the street with a blood rag on with a broom stick in her hand...with a bunch of hood dudes holding car mechanic tools.. So I hopped out of my car to see what was poppin.. I said "any of yall know a dude name Avis, light skinned kinda chubby?!?".... They heard my accent and was like..."Naw we don't know who that is, if he was somebody real we would know him, do you know Lil Wayne?".. So I sat with them and ate some Hog Cracklin and shoot the shyt for a lil while with them... Yall may notice a few more guest lurking on here... that's them!! I told them all about how that dude GR be claiming he is a street king from Vickburg.... They say if they ever run into such a character name Avis they were going to check him for "false flagging".. Them were some pretty rough dudes, so if I was GR I would shut up on here about all of that because they are now looking on here to see who this dude really is..

 I aint know Vicksburg has some hood spots. Then again, they do have a wal mart.

TC be kin to GR...both of them have said some of the dumbest schitt known to man.

You Tube send help fast!

:emlaugh:

We should move the game to Grambling. Eddie Robinson Stadium should have a sellout crowd at least one time during the year.

I for one appreciate how yall keep coming back again and again for the same azz whupping. That's kinda why I call yall that name that I call yall. (But not this time).

 I aint know Vicksburg has some hood spots. Then again, they do have a wal mart.

Hell even my small azz town of 600 people has a hood part... Vicksburg is no exception. Not smacking on Vicksburg... but it's not the "hood" that's the problem, it's the "hood mentality" of thinking "bad things gotta go down in the hood". Scotlandville for the most part has either grown up or just grown old in age. But don't get it twisted, they had a shooting around 72nd street or so just this past week. A walk up to the house drug deal that went bad or so I'm told.

The difference is that when something happens around SU, the focus is on the entire area. The storyline usually goes something like "Southern University located in the Scotlandville Area was the scene of a crime" Later you find out it happened in Scotlandville but quite often the people are from somewhere else but had an altercation in Scotlandville that could have happened anywhere. Oh, but let something happen around the LSU campus... it gets reported as being an incident in Gardere or South Baton Rouge. They try as best possible to keep LSU's name out of it.

Exactly..........same thing when I was living in Houston. Let something happen in Third Ward and they rather associate TxSU name with it when the University of Houston is right there as well.

It is all perception and not reality. I have always been careful around LSU even when I was at SU back in the 80s. Folks were getting shot and robbed back then over that way. Hell I felt safer in Scotland than over there.

Yeah...Channel 2 and 9 have that bad...ESPECIALLY Channel 2. Pops still get upset whenever something goes down around North BR, they always say..."Near the campus of Southern University." But if its close by LSU, they make sure not to say LSU's name.

And I heard about the incident on 72nd. :smh:

Well they try.. It ain't nothing me or you would be scared of. It's actually kind of funny. As soon as they sense you are from South Louisiana, they want to be your buddy.... They love them some Lil Boosie.. I noticed when I sat down with them, one of the dudes with the wrench went in the spot and came back with a boom box, and started bumping "Lil Boosie".. telling me how that was some of the realist isht he ever heard and how he dream of moving to BR.. He said he thought about moving to New Orleans, but he wants to test the waters with B.R. first..
Would you know of all songs these clowns were bumping ...I.N.D.E.P.E.N.D.E.N.T.??!?! The old lady with the broom stick, talking about.."Got my Own Mop, Got my own Car(she snuck in ~my goons working on it though~) ..." And all the dudes trying to rap along and don't know none of the words... It sounded pretty bad man.. They lil junkyard dog started barking and for a second sound like it was trying to hum the HOOK..

I ain't want to laugh man... But in the back of my mind Im thinking, is this what GR think is HARD?!?!

Them were the hardest dudes in VIcksburg and none of them knew GR.. Matter of fact I think they will ride for me before they would think about riding for ole GR..

You should pass through there man, it ain't nothing.. Anybody from South LA. have an automatic hood pass through there..

Yep, we used to always walk over the hump to that churches, even though Doc told us not to... We had enough New Orleans folk to not be worries about nothing back that way...ISHT, Churches was economical and was practically the only thing open at night...lol

Vicksburg ................. Hard?
The only thing I picture about Vicksburg is Food, Gambling, and a big arse Civil War burial ground.

Actually, SU owes us a game anyway so the next two games should be in Jackson as JSU home games anyway. Remember 2004 and 2005? Both were SU home games....

****Nostalgia time*** aww that walk to the old Church's chicken brings back some memories...

But 72nd Street up in Banks...mane we used to shoot ball outside on those courts and Banks Elementary. Them dudes were cool—after pushing one of us into the goal support.

What's wrong with playing SU? Hell, that's at least 250,000 dollars yall need mighty bad right about now.

You play them in baseball and other sports, so what's the deal. That's much needed revenue.
I betcha Grambling would play 'em in a heartbeat.

I remember us band members in the spring time used to go out that way quite a bit... But we often ended up jumping the gate in the back of SU LAB to shoot some hoops... We ain't too much care for the long half court in the back by Jones...
I know you guy ran the intramural league too... Us band members (BUS 2) had a team... we did pretty well against a lot of the competition.

Come on now TP...why you on here lying man?

Do i need to post the 500k article again? June 1st 2009 ring a bell?

Kareem wrote that 500K article because he had nothing else to write that day...sheesh! We are not in need of $500K but the $500K padding would be nice in times like these...and IF we are, we were already preparing for it. We launched a $3M campaign for athletics back in January. See at JSU, we plan ahead. Need $500K? Cool, raise $3M. We don't conduct business like u country folks in LA and AL....and TX. Oh well...learn from us and you won't be droppin schitt!

My roomate and I were fools in college. We used to go to Sarge (now I think they call it Coleman's) buy us a a fifth of T-Bird and drink it around Scotland Avenue. Then when our head was tight we go to Jaguar Lounge or Irene and Pete and cut up. One time we were cutting up in Jaguar Lounge so much until Doc asked us what we doing there. He sure couldn't ask us to leave because we weren't in the band. :emlaugh:
