First of all Anderson wont get that job.... Ive seen the finalist, assistants from MAJOR basketball programs...

second IF he was to get offered, he is gone... TSU paid Cy Alexander more than all but 1 SWAC FOOTBALL coach makes in a yearly salary.

ps... Just heard they are about to hire an assistant from Auburn.

Don't worry JSU your coach is safe.

Dahill,

What's the 411 on Cooper? Good hire in your opinion?

I honestly dont know anything about the current staff at Auburn.... I know a few coaches on the staff at Alabama. I did a google on Cooper and it is said that he is a fine recruiter. I still think he will have a hard time outrecruiting Alexander at TSU. Alexander had some athletes at TSU AND a great recruiting class. TSU should have gave him one more year.

^ My fault. I got my Bama schools mixed up. I thought your Uncle was on the Auburn staff, when it was Bama.

He was at au under cliff ellis for may years. He then went to alabama for a year. He is now head coach at famu.

Please, take him.

bye bye...

Jackson State extends Anderson's contract

Men's hoops coach gets extension through 2012

Jackson State University has extended the contract of head men's basketball coach Tevester Anderson through the year 2012.

"I am excited about this extension," Anderson said. "We have made very good progress over the last six seasons, but we still have some business to do. This extension gives me the opportunity to leave a winning legacy at Jackson State."

Anderson, who guided the Tigers to a Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament championship in 2007, has a 66-42 SWAC record and a 95-100 overall mark at Jackson State. JSU's 2007 SWAC title was the program's first in seven seasons and the fifth overall. For his career, Anderson has a 198-152 record as a head coach.

Prior to coming to Jackson State Anderson was the head coach at Murray State (Murray, KY), where he averaged 20 wins over five seasons.He led the Racers to two Ohio Valley Conference regular season championships, two OVC tournament championships and two NCAA tournament appearances.

"We appreciate coach Anderson's efforts in helping to make the Tigers into perennial SWAC title contenders," said Director of Athletics, Robert L. Braddy. "We play a very tough pre-conference schedule and we feel that our program is headed to the next level."

not for us. We already have the top coach in the SWAC.

Anderson is CLEARLY the best coach in the SWAC. No way for you to argue that. We have finished the last three seasons at #2, #1, and #2. On top of that, he has dominated AlaState head to head since his arrival. I don't think any coach in the SWAC has a series lead over him.

ummm, EASY way for me to not only "argue that", but for me to prove my point.
Since Lewis has been the coach, he has the best record, has won MORE games than any other SWAC coach, and he has won more championships than any other SWAC coach. He is the only coach who has won both regular season and tournament championships.

I doubt he has a better SWAC record than Anderson over the same time span. You can't compare OOC games because ya'll play a sorry OOC schedule.

ummmm, you don't have to doubt anymore. Lewis "has a better SWAC record than Anderson over the same time span."
:scared::scared:

doubt it but if he does have a one game lead...lol, we still have u in head to head and we have the most recent success. Where was Lewis in 3 years ago?

TP,
You ought to leave this one alone and just accept the fact that Lewis has posted better numbers.

And it's BEYOND stupid :retard: for you to say something about "head to head" and "most recent success" when we saw what happened in Bham just a few weeks ago.
That was "the most recent" game and that was, by far, Lewis/Anderson's biggest "head to head" matchup.
:scared::scared:

but I digress though, because Anderson did have his best season EVER at Jsu this season. He won 15 regular season SWAC games.

too bad for him and jsu that Lewis and ASU won 16 though.

Congrats to you and Lewis but you know what I mean by recent. The last three years have belonged to Anderson.
