This is not a first amendment issue. The first amendment certainly gives this cartoonist the right to draw what he wants. But it doesn't guarantee him the platform with which to do so. No one is saying this cartoonist can't draw what he wants. What they are saying is that if the New York post continues to support this type of material, there will be repurcussions for them. The New York Post is a popular paper among NY African Americans and can't afford to alienate them. They have a business decision to make. Just like saying something racist will get u fired off of television(see Rush Limbaugh), a cartoon of this sort should get your fired from a major newspaper.
