NAACP wants Post Cartoonist Fire..





Man screw that cracker. They need to drop him off in the projects in Harlem and let him find his way out. :tup:

I dont feel sorry for him one bit. I think he deserves all the backlash he can get. I just dont feel like we should go around wanting people fired cause they say something we might not like... I think we all have the fundamental right to piss each other off sometimes..

I feel you Cee but the first amendment is just what it is. Wouldn't you want to be able to say want you really feel to someone? I don't feel sorry for him but I don't think he should be fired either.

I have seen blacks fired just for being black. So I don't feel sorry for a cracker.

This is not a first amendment issue. The first amendment certainly gives this cartoonist the right to draw what he wants. But it doesn't guarantee him the platform with which to do so. No one is saying this cartoonist can't draw what he wants. What they are saying is that if the New York post continues to support this type of material, there will be repurcussions for them. The New York Post is a popular paper among NY African Americans and can't afford to alienate them. They have a business decision to make. Just like saying something racist will get u fired off of television(see Rush Limbaugh), a cartoon of this sort should get your fired from a major newspaper.

Yes, that should be the decision of the newspaper.... not some mandatory move by outside forces... If they really want to make some noise. boycott the paper and it advertisers..call on others to do the same... People act like this the first thing that the post has did... I can believe NY blacks even read the post to begin with... Now, all they are doing is helping the post sell papers

I say let him speak his/her mind so they all can come out of the closet. There's a civil war going on and people don't even realize it.

It's about time we stop whining about every little thing a cracker does and focus on the big picture and that big picture is to get all men and women of good will and who truly wants America to be the best that it can be to come together and make certain we don't let these people take over our country again.
 



If an American Citizen had done this the Secret Service would have arrested him. However, IMO too many folks hide behind the 1st ammendent rights.

That's exactly what they're doing. When you boycott, you do it with a specific outcome in mind. Right now, the purpose is to have the Post show they're serious by firing the cartoonist. If the boycott is successful, don't you think they'll fire the cartoonist to save their business?

That's the whole point as for my concerns about it. The cartoonist is just being used as a scapegoat

The NY Post is one of the most popular newspapers in not only New York, but in the United States. The life source of a newspaper is advertising. Not exactly how many people read the paper. That is why it is sold for 50 cents in some places.

If the advertisers no longer back the paper, then the boycott will be a successful one. But I just don't see the Post being affected that massively, considering people are still going to read the paper and get content via the Web site.
 
He should have been fired... the editor as well, but not because they were forced too. They should have done it immediately b/c it was the right thing to do then. At this point I know all I need to know about him, the editor and the paper regardless of what they do.
 
The POST not gonna fire that guy or stop using his material.

The same NYPOST that admitted in a civil suit back in the day that they add stuff to stories or slant stories just to make them more interesting.:lol:
As long as papers fly off the stands, they could care less.

Look through the online edition and you can tell they put a week into comming up with a catchy title and 2 second's into the story.
