we quite possibly have the worst QB in the SWAC and his back-up isn't any better and we go out and only recruit TWO freakin QB's?!?!?! and then it is possible that we don't sign neither of them.... WTH is going on...:shame::shame::shame:

Comegy Content with QB situation.........Clarion Ledger 2/4/2009
Fans frustrated with the quarterback play during the 2008 season shouldn't expect drastic changes in 2009. Fax machines across the nation are working overtime today as high school seniors send in their letters-of-intent on National Signing Day. But there won't be a number of quarterbacks signing with Jackson State. Truthfully, there might not be any.
JSU has only recruited two quarterbacks despite finishing 2008 with just two on roster - and those two didn't verbally commit. Tray Rutland should be the returning starter for his senior season in 2009. Freshman Dedric McDonald was redshirted and will likely be the No. 2 signal-caller. Backup Mike Mosley never quite caught on and was running routes by the season-ending SWAC championship game against Grambling State
Another linebacker...

Murrah's own Mike Hill just stopped in to turn in his LOI. 6-0, 185 pounds.
First team all-district.
That makes 25 signed so far.
No. 26...

Cornerback Nate Simms from Arkansas Baptist CC. Originally from Tuskegee.
6-1, 190 pounds.
Players theres another local guy....
Players, that "leftovers" comment is bull. MS $tate has their hands all in Willie Collins' back pocket. Same with the other schools. We recruit them. If they don't want to sign with us, they don't want to sign with us. Don't act like Tim Manning, Mike Cooley, Corey Bradford, Jimmy Smith, etc., etc., etc. are from out of state.
Until academics gets better in MS (which it is slowly but surely), I ain't mad at Comegy for looking out of state.
BTW, one of those QB's was from GA. He inked with Appalachain State.

Yeah people.
I'm not getting into this with ya'll.
Ya'll want to dismiss the last 3 year's of recruiting and make this into the same old same old.............Have at it.
I'm done.
Hope all this out of state talent do better than the one's that we have gotten in the past 3 years.
Hope the same 2 QB's we had last year can actually hand the ball off this year also.![]()
Really has Players looked at Magnolia Preps. All of these kids have Ole piss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss as their top choices. Last year we had a few but this year looked like this...John Doe Recruit....Mississippi,Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi.
Man all these kids want to go to State of Ole Miss now. Houston Nutt can't take them all and MSU can't wither. Just look at the top 26. LSU got one and alabama got 4. 21 others going to MSU and OLE piss. Top 40 really aint no different.
I think a big steal was Kentucky and the other Receiver from Tupelo. That kids could flat out play.
I'm not getting into this today.

Like the school's in GEORGIA ain't got parent's pitching a byotch over failing kid's in highschool's out there.
Mofo's flunking all over the South so don't use that as a crutch for recruiting Mississippi.
I'm done.

I'm done dude.
You know dang well I'm not talking about the Mr. Football's that are going to play for those school's because they in the SEC.
I understand from people's point of view, when you can't get the TOP 25 STATE RECRUIT'S, the rest ain't worth looking at or people post like what's being said is so dang hard to understand so fugg it.
I have never looked at recruiting pattern's in Mississippi.
I have no idea about recruiting and mindset's of players here.
I been watching soccor for the last 37 years in this state and Metro Jackson area.![]()
Well players look at the kids they tried to get last year and they all went elswhere. The Blackmond kid went up north IVY league, The Ridgeland RB went elswhere, the mico brown kid with to Northern Ill...LOL
Man these kids want to move to a new state. It is what it is. I have relatives and my wife all from Jackson. They wanted to go to SU,FAMU and Southern Miss. and or Alcorn. They love JSU but they want to leave home. The ones who stay either love it to much, didn't get a scholarship(can't afford out of state fees) or didn't have the grades. End up going to hinds and then JSU.
And look at Madison Central. All those guys are going JUCO just to see if they can get to FBS..The will end up at those half arse Lousianna schools just watch in two years.
Players not trying to get into it with you. Just saying if you look at magnolia preps dayum near all the kids had the same wish list. down to the no star cats...SMH. Shoot it's easier for Alcorn to recruit Jackson than JSU. It's a change of pace. A chance to stand out somewhere else.
LOL @ players giving up so easily. :shame:
Don't feel like listening to all the same old excuses for lazy arse people that won't get out and drive in a 10 mile radius and actually find just as many school's here as they find 600 to 1000 miles away.
I'll bet if these guy's don't see a kid on highschool frenzy on Friday night's sportscast, they don't even know they exist.
I say again.
3 freaking year's recruiting some kid in OHIO and 0 years spent here convincing some of the home bred talent to stay home.
Every summer/fall Rick Cleveland and other sportswriter's have story upon story in the clarion ledger of kids going out of state because NOBODY RECRUITED THEM HERE or the school's here was like come if you want.
Damm you BB.
Where's my white flag.
