Two more on the line are in.



C Derrick Jean from Miami Central. 6-3, 246 pounds. A two-star prospect according to Rivals.com



OT Jordan Miller, same high school. 6-3, 260 pounds.



As thorough as the offensive line is taking shape, still no word on a quarterback. And HC Rick Comegy said they only recrutied two, and need one of them. Still on hold on that front.

Frat, what is going on with that? No Metro players I mean. There were some good players in the area this year too. Is it grades or what?

Players several metro guys probably want to leave home. Or have to go to Hinds or the other JUCO's to get tick. Shoot look how many guys from Provine or Murruh end up at Hinds.

It's early. We still looking at 10-13 more signees. Oh yeah he only recruited 2 QB's so don't hold your breath. I mean we only have three and if they get hurt we have no backups.

They all but admitted they really don't even look.
When all them bust arse Running back's from Pennsylvania didn't pan out, and Comegy saw he had an ALL JACKSON BACKFIELD by the 4th game, this fool said "We are going to have to start looking at the school's around here".

I don't know.
maybe he still attached to his old recruiting grounds in Ohio and Pennsylvania from his day's at Central.
Without a good run at recruiting 4 year QB's, we ain't gonna be shat the next 2 years because both these sorry mofo'swe got now are going to be gone after 2009.

And then where will we be.
Starting all over again with some damm 2 YEAR JUCO QB. :smh:

Shaw it is probably the grades if they pick Hinds over JSU. Aint no way they rather play at JC than JSU.

Don't know if the area is having grade problems. I have a younger cousin at Jim Hill playing rb and I need to find out if he handled his business in the classroom so he can play ball. I know his Mom was threatening to send him to the military if he didn't tighten up. She went to JSU and I am sure she would have had him sign over there if he did what he was supposed to.

Yeah and since we have a metro backfield with 3 years left why pickup another RB. He went out and got OL and DL guys. That's what we needed. Outside of Provine who elsein the metro area is know for Linemen?
 
The players in the Metro area(and most of MS) usually don't have the grades. The ones that do wanna leave the state. We had a good TE from Forest Hill slip away to UL Monroe.
 
I have NEVER really put all that much stock in (not) signing a slew of local kids. While its a good thing, but I definitely understand if a kid wants to go to school away from home. Nothing wrong with that.

btw, no doubt, Bookman has a few buffets that he likes in the Atl area. :D

What classification was Callaway's Qb this year? I heard he was pretty decent but I did not follow up to see if that was true or not.

What about Clinton. They had some decent players a couple of years ago. We got one of their LBs now at SU. The rb we got transferred due to playing time.

#1) I didn't say recruit another running back and those 3 Jackson guy's got the job's by default when those little Pennsylvania guy's went down like wet tissue.

#2) yep we got lineman.......From out of state.
Nothing wrong with that but we got school's all over the state.
Just because a Senior lineman didn't start, don't mean he ain't good.
OLIVE BRANCH or WAYNE COUNTY and yes .........PROVINE and S.Panola come to mind?

#3) What do any of this have to do with these guy's NOT recruiting QB's?
That's a glaring weakness we have had the last 3 years.
We got lucky with Oliver comming on in his 2nd year.
And then he was GONE..............:smh:

I know.

Other school's come in and get the very player's I'm talking about because these guy's don't recruit this area at all.
They don't even show these kid's around here any interest.

Our starting running back Boela is from Wingfield!!!!!!!!!
And the QB from Callaway is a junior i think

No school is going to SEND us anything.
If we get leftovers, it's because we didn't show up in line for the first serving in time to get our order in.
Try getting out there, build relationship with these coaches in the Metro like every other dang college coach, and recruit some starter's or gem's that need to be polished.

My point is, before people act like they can't understand where I'm comming from is, WHY is a kid or coach even going to consider a University that don't even come for a dang look.

Just like that QB out of OHIO last year that took his homesick arse home.
They spent 3 freaking year's recruiting that guy to JSU.
3 year's on a kid way up in OHIO.
Not 1 day on a QB from here.

Get my point now?

Thats 9 times out of 10 Woodys decision I still want a QB jus in case so they can atleast compete with McDonald next year.....JUS IN CASE HE TURNS OUT TO BE A FLOP.....
 
Players we have another Center signee. He's from the Metro area Ridgeland.

Also we have two South Panola commits. I hope they sign today. Especially the FB.

I dont Comegy realizes how many kids from JPS and the surrounding areas grow up Dreaming to play for JSU and fr them not to get a look is riduculus.........our star LB Speaks was from Provine it is talent in the metro area WTH..........:upset:

Players I feel you but name some of the stars from JSU past and see how many of them come from Jackson and the metro area. We have always gotten kids from outside the metro area, bama,Losuianna,tenn, and up north..Always..

Brandon is only 10 miles from JSU's campus and they can't get over there and talk up a long term relationship with coaches and players?:lol:

That was on Bell. He left becuase bell wouldn't give him a look.

You guys can't be serious. Wishing and actual talent are two different things.

I'm just glad they recognized that the OL sucked and went out and got some replacements.
