Considering that MOST top D2 teams would beat the 1-AA, I would say yes. It amazes me how people look down on D2 when they would kick most of the teams in 1-AA azz. You don't see teams scheduling teams like Valdosta and North Alabama do you. Teams like Georgia Southern and Jacksonville State would be scared to death of a team like that!

I disagree TP. D2 is D2. I dont care if they are the biggest and baddest D2 players around. They're still D2. There is a reason that they're D2 and if we can not beat these schools, then there is something wrong with us; not the other way around. This is not an upset by all means. Tuskegee is D2 and they're really not the best D2 team in D2. They're just one of the ones that play an easy schedule with Bama St being part of it. This is an embarrassment of the way a D1-AA school is celebrating beating a D2 school. Maybe they should have lost (like they always do) in order not to bring all this unwarranted attention to this sad, sorrowful, situation.

Mighty Hater, take off those bee eyes. You all play this D2 team every year. Tuskegee isnt a great D2 team. Let's just be honest here. Do they go to D2 playoffs and play against the other D2 competition? Have they won a D2 Championship? You all get dominated every year by a mediocre D2 team and that's sad. Seriously (Thanks MH). You all should have just lost and we wouldnt even be having this conversation and you all wouldnt be receiving these "self-proclaimed" accolades that you all dont deserve. Seriously (Thanks MH).

You trying so hard to knock everything about Tuskegee (like you've actually seen them or other d2 teams) that you don't realize that every knock you making against them, the exact same knock could be made against the swac or jsu.
but I guess since Delta State whooped your butt, they're the exception to the d2 rule.

Beans is right. The fact is these teams are D-2 for a reason. They have less funding, give out fewer scholarships and unless I'm mistaken, are allowed fewer full time coaches. That means if you're on our level, you should beat them. The last thing we as a conference should do is beat our chests about beaing the teams we should be. When JSU lost to Delta, that was an indictment on our program. Same thing with Bama State losing to Tuskegee every year.

MH, how many times have we knocked ourselves with this? Is this something new? No. Are we the best in FCS? No. So it seems like the same problems we face, Tuskegee faces too. What is that you ask? Believing that they're much more than what they really are. How can they say they're the best if they dont play the best? Beating up everybody on their cupcake schedule doesnt declare anything. Beating the same mediocre teams they face year in and year out doesnt declare anything. Whenever they travel outside of their comfort zone into the real D2 world and make noise, then come back and holla at ya boy. The same with us, until we make some real noise in FCS outside of our comfort zone, then come back and holla at ya boy.

MH, why must you twist things to fit your argument? Why must you spin this to make it seems like you all have finally climbed that mountain? This win is meaningless because they're D2. I guess after losing all those HC games somehow you all forgot or lost the meaning of that. I'm sure that they play like a FCS or even FBS team to you all, but they're still D2 and beating them doesnt amount to anything other than having better afterparties.

seeing how on your "cupcake schedule" you didn't beat a single team with a winning record on your "cupcake schedule"
as for travelling "outside your comfort zone into the real FCS world", well jsu aint won a SINGLE game like that in MANY YEARS. In fact, the ONLY ooc wins you have in the last 5 years are against NAIA Paul Quinn and d2 Stillman. THE ONLY WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MH, I cant argue the point of our OOC record and I dont think any JSU fan will. Facts are facts and smack is smack. Dont get confused on the two, cause I truly believe that you have. You all finally beat the D2 team that has been kicking your butts for years and years. Congrats on that, but it means nothing cause they're D2. So what someone put them up high on some meaningless poll when they dont even play real D2 competition. Do you think the N. Alabamas, Delta St, etc... take Tuskegee serious? No, cause Skegee dont want to play them. I'm sure the D2 world probably doesnt think too highly of them because they continue to beat the same trashy teams every year. They're faced with the same thing we're faced with in FCS. No respect because of our schedule and who we play.

If Tuskegee never plays the best, does that validate that they're the best or "great"? That barometer is used with everyone in everything. Football, basketball, ice hockey, karate, jacks, jump rope, flippin coins, and penny tossing.

1) you'll never hear me or any other relevant JSU fan characterize this current team(or any of our recent teams) as "great". We're good enough to win the SWAC, but that aint saying much. Again, check my Signature.
2) Bringing our playoff record into the picture, you forget that most of the time, the SWAC played the top schools in D-IAA in the first round. Most of the schools we lost to became champions or went deep into the playoffs. The fact is we had some great teams in the 80's and some really good teams in the 90s. Bama State's team in 91 and SU's 93 and 95 teams were great IMO.
3) I think you're missing Beans overall point, which if you consider a win against a D-2 school, ANY D-2, as "big" then your program is in extremely bad shape. There's no other way of looking at it.
