I haven't seen this much excitement since the fall of the Empire on Star Wars. Just think about how diverse the audience was last night. It's not just African-Americans. It was the world that celebrated this moment in history. You also have to think about your family and friends that passed away before this historic event, but you also should know that they are still with you til the end. Congrats President Elect Obama.

Congratulations Mr. President-Elect Obama

DC Here I Come!!  :happydance: :happydance:

I cried last night. During Hurricane Gustav, my dad told me that it looked like this was gonna happen. He never thought that he would live to see the day that we'll have a Black president.

He didn't. My dad died 7 weeks to the day of the election.

I am so happy today; yet sad that I can't share this joy with him. I WILL have his picture with me on Pennsylvania Avenue on January 20th - he will definitely be there with me.

OMG... the celebration on campus was sooooooooooo WILD!
thousands of students
fireworks
music
the parade
the atmosphere was ELECTRIC!

campus police had to stop cars from driving into campus b/c it was one big huge block party/trafficjam/parade/fire work show....
I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!

Tonight was beyond WILD! i'm still pumped up and excited!

OBAMA is my president! :jump:

Sounds like SU last night...
I didn't think I could get crunk like that...:happydance:

Congratulations Mr. Obama! MY PRESIDENT! I am beyond proud! There is a First Lady that looks like me and all of my beautiful sisters!!!!

Congrats to Barack Obama!!! "Yes we can" and YES WE DID.
May God continue to bless him and be a fence around the Obama family.

I'm happier than kids on Chirstmas morning. :jumping:

Congratulations Mr. Obama on a job well done. Your campaign strategy was impeccable. You learned well from Harold Washington and the "machine".

This time in history will be a bright spot for people that will be studying this time a thousand years from now! I'm glad I experienced it and to be living in this most monumental historical moment in World history. Students of history in the distant future will envy everyone that are living today in this century. It's an exciting time in our human history. The world will never be the same.

A TRUE MIRACLE FROM GOD HAS BEEN PERFORMED IN OUR LIFE TIME !!! I PRAY THAT GOD'S MIGHTY HAND MOVE OVER THE SOUTHERN RED STATES TO REMOVE THE CURSE OF RACISM, HATRED AND WHITE SUPREMACY FROM THE HEARTS OF THE CAUCASIAN RACE. :angel2::angel2:

History has been made and I can hear Sam Cooke playing in the background. This is something I thought as tri-racial man I'd never see in my lifetime. Him being in the White House states to the Black youth that there are NO limits to where they can do. My co-workers overseas in both Osaka and Obama Japan cried at this. Most of us thought that a Black man would make such an inroad. The world rejoiced at his win and his making of history. And the thing that we as a community can appreciate is that HE GET IT. We don't (@ least I hope not) have to explain our struggle on these sures: HE KNOWS ABOUT IT. Sure being the first is a great burden, but he has a lot to be proud of.

But let's not get caught up in the historic symbolism, even though we have every right to be proud. January 20th is when the journey of change begins.
